  1. Yep. Make it show auctions on both GTNs simulatenously, and make it post to both simultaneously. Now that would be worth some credits. The only use for a neutral GTN would be to transfer items across factions, and now you can do that using the mail.
  2. As far as I know, the sensor units on that droid are all the sensor units in the game so far.
  3. If you do all the solo quests you will be consistently 2-3 levels ahead of the content all the way to level 50 without doing any pvp, group content or space content. You don't even need to do the bonus quests that don't say "stage X" to do this, because I didn't and I was those 2-3 levels ahead. If you don't want to do red quests, don't skip content that is at your level.
  4. This joke was so much better than the Sarlacc Enforcer and the Wookie voiceover/UI. Though I fully support including that arcade minigame, even if I don't think it'll ever be in.
  5. The whole social point system seems exclusively designed to make people be less annoyed at multiplayer conversations. I imagine their testers said "when grouping, it's a real chore to wait on other people making their choices if I don't care about the story of the quest." So they added a reward for being in multiplayer conversations. That is why you can't get the points any other way - it is not about being social, it is about being less annoyed by multiplayer conversations.
  6. You are playing the game of collecting all speeders and pets. I like that game too. This is Bioware's way of telling us that they do not support this play style/activity. Bioware values rewarding conference attendance more than they value supporting pet and mount collectors. It's the same thing with making some of the speeders unavailable in 1.2 - collectors who join the game after 1.2 will be in the same situation as we are with the conference pet. It sucks that Bioware doesn't want us to be able to play the "catch 'em all" minigame, but there's nothing we can do about it. You'll just have to accept it. At least you can still play the "get all available pets and speeders", but you'll have to live with the fact that people who don't even care about pets and speeders at all will have pets and speeders that you have no way to get. It's the same thing in WoW too by the way.
  7. If you are not 50 at the end of Correllia, you cannot have done all the of the missions in the game. You must have missed many of them. Try the extra Voss bonus series quests if you haven't done those. Go buy the best space ship gear. You can do the higher level space missions and they award a large amount of XP. PvP gives a good amount of XP. Be sure to pick up the PvP daily on the fleet first. If you hate all of the other suggestions, you could try just killing things until you reach 50. Some people are stating that the bonus quests on Belsavis can be started before finishing your class quest. If that is true (I don't know), definitely go do that. There might be some quests on Illum that you can do before ending your class quest too (I don't know). If you can't find a group, how about joining a guild? If you are already in one and you've been trying for several days during prime time and no one wants to help you with such a small favor, find a new guild.
  8. Selling 5 of each of the 10 companion gift types alone will blow your 50 item budget. I've got an alt that does nothing but sell blue companion gifts for that reason, and then a different alt sells purple companion gifts. Having different alts selling different things and mailing items between them to stay within the 50 item limit on the GTN is silly busy-work. If I get a character to the fleet, I've already got another 50 items I can use, so just make those extra sell slots available to all my characters without the hassle.
  9. People's statements about how things work are all over the place and everyone in my guild has no idea about things like whether force attacks by-pass defense. My #1 wish would be for you to explain in precise mathematical detail how every single PvP system works. I know that the upcoming combat log will make it a bit easier for people to make guesses about what your game is doing, but seeing as how much wrong information is out there, I just don't trust random strangers to get mathematical formulas like that right. Do you really want everyone who PvP's to have to use the scientific method to figure out how your game works? Is that part of the gameplay? My #1 wish would be for you to remove the mystery and just tell us how it works.
  10. Laziness is the highest virtue, so I don't know why you want to say that exploiting is bad because of that. It's bad because it is not lazy - you risk being banned, and then you've gotten zero reward for a whole lot of effort. These not-lazy exploiters are, as all other non-lazy people, completely inefficient and ineffectual in how they spend their time.
  11. Will the legacy system do something that allows us to level alts more quickly? (speeders sooner, +x% exp, OP legacy gear, commendations shared across account etc.) I want to see the class story for each character, and I don't feel like going through all the side missions again. Will the legacy system do something useful for max level characters too?
  12. This is the definite argument that makes the case. I think we should extend this brilliant insight into all game systems, especially the fun part of the game. We should take out all of the things that people think are fun and not tedious in this game, making the game currently completely dreadful. Then we have the wonderful opportunity of putting those things back into the game as rewards to further the players' sense of progression. Some less intelligent people would say that fun and lack of tedium are not good choices for making a progression out of, and that the game should have as little tedium and as much fun in it right from the get-go, but clearly that is just not true. Conclusion: the most unfun and tedious games are the best games, because their developers have, very cleverly, left ample room for progression. Brilliant insight, I wish you were on the Bioware team right now, putting as much tedium into the game as you can. Hell, why not drop travel speed to 10% of what it is now. Triple the loading times! Even more room for progression that way! This will be the best (worst) game ever!
  13. If the main argument in favor of anything in a game is that people only don't like it because they are lazy, then whoever put it in the game is terrible at his job - just terrible. Maybe the worst member in frogdog team history.

    Valor system guide

I don't understand how actions in a warzone and elsewhere translate into valor gain, so does anyone have a guide? I didn't find one using the search system. If not, I can write one up if you guys can tell me how it works. There are plenty of websites listing the medals that you can get, that's not what this post is about. Please post the missing numbers in the following list, or post corrections if it does not work the way I say: You get 20 valor per kill out in the world. If your opponent has already been killed in PvP within the last X minutes, then you don't get any valor. What is X precisely? In the Illum PvP area you can get up to a 400% bonus to valor per kill (so a total of 200 valor per kill), if your faction controls all of Illum. You can also get an additional 200 valor per warzone completion by hanging out in the Illum PvP area if your faction controls Illum - you only need to enter the area, but you must have the daily or weekly Illum quest in your log and not completed to get this buff - I think this is how it works, is this correct? I myself lost the buff once I completed the weekly. You get 50 valor and 50 warzone commendations per medal in a warzone. There is no valor for killing opponents outside of the medals that you can get for doing that. You get X additional valor if you win the warzone, and Y additional valor if you lose the warzone. What is X and Y? How many commendations do you get? You get credit for a kill in a warzone or in the open world if you have done any amount of damage to the player killed, even if only 1 point of damage. Is this correct and does it also count if you attack a player but he defends the attack, or he has a healer's shield on so that he takes no damage? If the player survives for long enough after you damage him, then your contribution to the kill is forgotten, but how does that work? This is important also because it decides how to get the 1-1 kill medal. Healing or tanking will never get you credit for a kill no matter what - is that right? You will never get tanking medals if people are attacking you and only you - you only get tanking medals when someone else you are protecting in some way gets attacked. Some shield abilities count as healing, so for example a Sith Juggernaut's specced Force Scream will put a shield on himself, and when the shield absorbs damage, that counts as healing. I've gotten the 2.5k heal medal this way! What exactly counts as healing in this game? Does medpacs ever count? Post your information below and I'll add it here - or post a link to a guide that already has this information.
  15. Bioware have done more than just voice acting for this game. There is also a cinematic presentation where the characters carry out actions with developer-chosen camera angles. Your argument is exactly like saying that books are better than movies. It's fine if you think that, but there are many people who like movies and that's good too.
  16. The worlds that Bioware have created were not developed with the intention to allow flying mounts, so they would have to pull a Burning Crusade where you can't fly on the outdated planets. They are so deep into the decision to ban flying that I doubt they'll ever pull themselves out again. Better hope for some of these thigns: remove the huge spaceport interiors that we have to run through on each planet transition. allow speeders in space ports remove the planetary platforms - almost nothing ever happens in them, and they all look alike. They are purely filler space that serves little purpose. much faster loading screens 400% speed speeders instead of the snail-like 110% they've done until now From your ship, you can take a shuttle to any bind point you choose on the current planet put a travel bind point inside your ship so you can go there using the shuttle decrease the cooldown on calling a shuttle to a few minutes Make the star map have fewer sub-menus. Make a view where every destination is available with 1 click and no confirmation. Doing all of this would seriously decrease the problems with the current poor experience with traveling. I doubt they will do any of it any time soon, though. Travel IS a loading screen from the perspective of a user who is tired of seeing the exact same landscape the 10'th or 100'th or 1000'th time, except worse since you can't leave your computer like with a real (better) loading screen. The benefit for Bioware is that they have to develop less real content if you spend more of your time looking at loading screens/traveling than if you were consuming real content for that time, so I doubt that they will do anything to improve the situation, except if it gets to the point that people are quitting in droves over it.
  17. Some purple's can be RE'ed to a higher level, though the schematic stays purple. The schematics that start out blue all RE to purple and then RE again to another purple. It has nothing to do with the color of the item and everything to do with the concrete prefixes you can get. Read up on RE on this very forum. I'd be very surprised if can upgrade those rekata ones since that would be OP.
  18. Thanks Alchies, that makes me feel better. I've still got lots of issues with multitarget tanking, but that fight was by far the most aggravating, which is no wonder if the mob isn't respecting my threat at all. What I'm wondering is how I was supposed to know that, when there's no way to see what the threat on any mob is.
  19. I'm in 124 rating gear + pvp rating 136 gear, and I can just about keep a single target on me. However, last night I was in The Battle for Illum normal mode, and there is a fight with 2 champions. The fight isn't hard, some turret adds and there's a guy who stands there and shots and a jedi who jumps around to random targets and then gets back to his main target. His main target is supposed to be me, the tank, but he kept jumping to the healer and then staying there, more often than I could taunt him, and then I was unable to regain threat before the healer died. At the end, we had to kill the jedi first while the healer healed himself through it, which cannot possibly be intended. The healer can't just not heal, since the jedi jumping around ability does lots of damage to squishy DPS and himself. I'd like some advice on what to do here as a Juggernaut tank. I've specced Smash and use it. I use Backhand for the extra threat. Vicious slash does very low damage and consumes a lot of rage, so it's not so good with just 2 targets - it does lower total damage than force scream and crushing blow for more rage, so I would do those before the slash. I've specced Force Choke, so I throw that in for extra DPS. I do Retaliation every time it is available. I burned a cooldown at the start of the fight to reduce healing on me to get less healing threat. I start out with Saber Throw and Force Charge. I threw a few hits every once in a while to the other target that were not being DPSed to have threat on him. I don't have a damage meter, a heal meter or a threat meter, so I have no clue what was going wrong. Any ideas for what I could have done? It really should not have been a hard fight. DPS were about as geared as me and healer slightly better geared. I had no problem tanking Black Talon Hard Mode with the same group except for 1 dps exchange.
  20. This absolutely needs to happen - it is much worse for things like synthweaving where there are around 12 variations of most things. A more streamlined approach would be to put a little plus on the left of the name, and then when you press it you will see all the different variations of the same base item. The default should be whatever variation you made last time. Also, we need free text search on the recipe names ASAP. If I know the name, I should be able to find a recipe quickly, not dig through menus to try to make the item appear in a smaller list or having to brute force through a huge list. That gets old after I'm making the same item for the 40'eth time for RE.
  21. Most people bathe regularly. I don't want to be like everyone else, so I don't bathe regularly. It makes me more unique. Other people can read, so I don't want to be able to do that - it makes me unique. Do you see a problem with this argument? It's fine to be different in a way that makes you better or at least not worse. Being different in a way that makes you worse isn't being unique, it is just failing. Removing tedium makes the game easier only if you equate the ability to stand tedium with skill, which is ridiculous.
  22. Did you know that you are whining too and that your post adds to the whining that you are complaining about?
  23. The credits are included. Let me know if you think the numbers are wrong. As far as I know, there are no bonus objectives that award commendations. They only award credits and xp.
  24. Their QA is fine - in included a months long beta where every concern voiced at launch was already brought up many times. It's an issue either of making poor choices about how the game should be, or of not having the resources to do everything that should be done. It's not that they don't know what to do.
  25. Here's a breakdown of the rewards for space combat in terms of credits and commendations. The dailies, except the last one, require you to finish two space combat missions. The awards include the credits and commendations you get for completing the sub-missions and it assumes that you do all bonus objectives. Operation Ascendant Pride (level 50) 18,639 cr. 20 cmd. 8:00 time. 2,330 cr/min. 2.50 cmd/min. Operation Raging Dawn (level 44) 19,748 cr. 20 cmd. 9:50 time. 1,981 cr/min. 2.03 cmd/min. Operation Sweeping Menace (level 40) 18,731 cr. 15 cmd. 12:15 time. 1,529 cr/min. 1.22 cmd/min. Operation Rising Fury (level 36) 14,944 cr. 14 cmd. 10:00 time. 1,494 cr/min. 1.4 cmd/min. Operation Molten Splinter (level 32) 15,265 cr. 10 cmd. 10:20 time. 1,477 cr/min. 0.97 cmd/min. Operation Eternal Domain (level 28) 11,151 cr. 8 cmd. 8:40 time. 1,287 cr/min. 0.92 cmd/min. For max credits per minute, do the first two dailies and then repeat Aetan Defence. For max commendations per minute, do the first four dailies and then repeat Clouds of Vondoru. I had written a much longer post with much more information and tips on space combat, but the forum glitched and discarded the whole thing, giving me a white screen when I pressed preview. I reloaded but that did nothing. Pressing the back button gave me this early version of what I had written, so that's what you get.
