  1. I loved that planet. It was like running around earth sort of....if there was a horrible civil war going on. Running around in museums and a zoo really gives the game a different feel than the purely fantasy inspired MMOs. I also like environments that don't seem to be designed to be a dungeon. It makes you feel like you're actually in the environment they tell you you're in. "Oh I'm in a museum. Hmmm....what an oddly linear design this museum has...I suppose when you're done you just have to walk back through all the exhibits to the entrance..."
  2. I almost got this edition then I really looked at the crap you got and thought....er....NOPE. I admit I was jealous of the speeder when i first started playing though, the 8k is hard to come by at that point. Now....not so much.
  3. So I'm level 50 and I've optimized my equipment through the auction hall and PvE dailies and now that I've compared my current stats to the very best equipment in the game I'm surprised by how little difference there is in stats. I'm a SI, and my current top give me 89 Will, while I believe the very best one gives 99 will. Obviously it has better stats overall and maybe that extra power makes a different. But in most games there is a HUGE difference between super geared and moderately geared. That doesn't seem to be the case in this game. Am I wrong? Does all the PvE set gear come together to be head and shoulders above normal end game stuff? (besides the obvious set bonuses I mean)
  4. 1. Where are all the special vendors in the games that take special currency to buy things? Belsavis Mission Support Vendor: trades Daily commendations for purple mods Illum Mission Support Vendor: Daily commendations for purple gear I've also seen PvP vendors in the fleet and dromund kass, what's the difference? 2. What sets do the game have right now? I imagine the PvP vendors sell PvP sets, but is there anyway to get PvE sets besides operations? Do they give set bonuses? Just hit level 50 and I'm trying to figure out how to get all the best stuff. (personally I PvE)
  5. I did the same thing. Frankly I don't understand why the game doesn't give you ALL your companion unique equipment when it becomes available as a quest reward. It gives you options but makes it so you're likely not going to use them. All of those choices are perm too, you'll never have a chance to get that unique sword for Khem again.
  6. I agree it's pretty good in this game. It's a little different but I always found it weird that quests will require you to kill X number of enemies even when it's basically impossible without just running through aggro to NOT kill that many enemies. Not much...bonus to it. Not complaining, just some weird style choices
  7. You're asking for a game that just dumps you into the world and you do what you want. There are games like but they are not in the majority. When left to their own devices for too long people lose focus and just get bored. It works better for one player game where the entire game can truly focus on the player and give them a reason to keep playing. Aka all sandbox games. Without a linear path you're depending on the player's own initiation A LOT. I don't know about you but I wouldn't want a business model based on a player's self imposed goals.
  8. This game has a lot of potential for patches. There could be the Yuzong Vong invasion! And there could be a unique race/class combination that lets you play as one and your ship and all your stuff is biological. You can pretend you're Zerg!
  9. The SI had some interesting twists that I didn't see coming. The "reason" that drags you from planet to planet in chapter two is pretty unique as well. I also like how you spend all of chapter 3 working towards one goal, though I am a bit disappointed that all this power your character seems to happen to him rather than have the feel that you earned it. The Trooper storyline blows. Chapter 1 is kind of neat I guess...at least it works towards a single goal, however you NEVER get to know Havoc Squad so you are completely unattached them. They really need for you to spend more time with these NPCs so you give a damn about what happens to them. Chapter 2 is just stopping a super weapon. I'm playing with my friend who is a Jedi Knight and he's already stopped THREE super weapons! Woopedy doo! I've barely played IA, but it seems neat. It makes you think "Oooo so this is how the empire gets stuff done with the Sith mucking up everything with their unnecessary violence and hatred."
  10. Needing for companions is ToR's version of needing for an off-spec. You can do it, but ASK first. Real people are more important than fake people.
  11. Well having just come off of playing Skyrim before this game... Skyrim eats glitches like these on their way to real bugs!
  12. Will that revert the affection loss? I've always wondered when affection loss/gain takes place. Its noted when you complete the quest, so is it not added/subtracted until then?
  13. Well actually I agree with that after I was introduced to the concept. However ever since I had to run around with green overalls and a purple top as my warlock in WoW I am greatly appreciative of the ability to control how you look. I just wish there was an easier way to switch augments over from one item to another. I'm one of those people who spend about a half hour making their character and have probably wasted over 100,000 credits swapping mods back and forth to try to get a look that I like.
  14. Voss: I need you to get sap from this tree. Watch out for the monsters guarding it! Btw, you're gonna come across an impassable wall while trying to get to the tree so you'll have to loop all the way around into republic territory. Yea the threat of the quest isn't the stupid crab people....it's the pvp. LOL have fun!~
  15. Though this is true too. Maybe a "style" tab. Every item you get unlocks it's "style" which means you can change yourself to look like that even if you're not wearing that item.
  16. I've said it once and I'll say it again, the things TOR introduced that are original are great. They are the best parts of the game. Being able to control how you look...GENIUS. I wish they focused more on this stuff.
  17. I believe Flashpoints use a drop table instead of certain mobs dropping certain items. So basically you can get your equipment from anything you kill in the flashpoint, though Bosses are more likely to drop stuff. That means its okay if you can't fight certain secret bosses.
  18. Well you're right about Daracrons, they are hidden bonus items that you can find and they give you a permanent stat increase. Most involve finding a hidden area or doing a complicated jump puzzle. Relics are like trinkets in WoW. You can have two of them equipped and they give you a small stat boost. Their main function is that you can use them like a spell and they give you some kind of temporary buff. You can get them as drops but the first ones you'll probably get from your respective Light Side/Dark Side vendor on the fleet. Shards are pieces of Matrix cubes when you can assemble in a special room in the jedi temple on Coruscant. (I don't know where the Empire one is) Basically if you get all the pieces to one you get a BIG stat boost. Basically a piece of a super datacron.
  19. Yea I was the same, I thought the quest I was trying to get had a pre-req quest that I hadn't done yet. I would prefer a clearer message or 'slots" in the mission log so you know how many quests you can take until its full. I still don't know.
  20. What's involved in the Illum PvE dailies. I just got there and I've been dying to ask what's the deal with planet. I didn't know what to expect when I got there but so far it seems like a normal planet with fewer quests and only a planet storyline, no class storyline. If you say off the left side (which I assume is the PvP) side, can you even come in contact with Republic? (other faction?) I beat the game today and it seems my three options now are: Belsavis (why this planet btw...random) Illum Flashpoints (I don't PvP and I have no interest in operations)
  21. I do feel bad when he says "Don't make me go" when you dismiss him. But I'm sorry Xalek...you suck my friend...you suck.
  22. Bah Social Points in this game suck. What do vanity items and partying have to do with each other anyway?
  23. This makes a lot of sense, I was wondering why they didn't have a draw distance. I wish they did so there was something else I could put to 0.
  24. "Murder and Mayhem await." "Uhh...er okay my lord. That's...er great..." As far as I've seen on my SI light side choices usually are evil yet intelligent, while dark side choices are thoughtless and violent. The one thing I'll say for DS choices though is after picking enough of them you start to feel that some of these NPCs are insane for even starting a conversation with you. You really give off the air of someone who would kill someone as much as look at them. A lot of times you threaten NPCs lives and they just shrug it off cuz the story has to continue. However for the kind of character a dark side SI is...that really makes no sense as he'd probably just kill the person for funsies.
