  1. I can agree with it not coming off when you die, but while they're at it they should make it so your class buff is always on you, but you are capable of casting it on others for fun. I like the buff idea, but why make it needlessly time out after a half hour. I now have a habit of recasting it every time I have the thought to just to avoid this.
  2. I completely agree. WoW didn't have sub-classes but it has very distinct talent trees. When I made a character in WoW it was pretty obvious what you were getting yourself into when you picked a talent tree (despite maybe a few exceptions) However, for example, when I made my Sith Marauder I had NO idea what was going on in each talent tree. I picked the middle tree with Ataru form and since the whole tree is based on hoping a 20% extra strike procs I have a feeling that it's probably the underpowered tree. It's really hard to tell unless you're a person who does extensive testing. Also why do all the 31 point talents suck? The top of Madness for Sorcerer is so boring. It reminds me of unstable affliction which is the FIRST spell you get as an Affliction Warlock. it's basically a little extra DPS, but is most useful in PvP. Why make that the top talent spell?!
  3. Datacron hunting, I always turn it off. I hate jump puzzles...
  4. A purple item got glitched and customer support replaced it for me. Granted it took too long and I out leveled it's usefulness...but they still came through in the end.
  5. "You can't make a MMO without wilderness" That's what I think when I played on Dromund Kass and Alderan. Why is there wilderness creeping right up to the industrialized cities? According to the lore it seems these places have been populated for 1000's of years! I posted this lore, but my problem is just really in the conceptual design. Sparse jungles should not be right outside the Empire's main city. Rolling plains of killing ant men should not be 100 yards outside of royal palaces. WHY WOULD YOU BUILD YOUR PALACE THERE!? It comes off as goofy and videogamey and takes me out of the experience. Maybe it's just me though... I really think Correllia is the only planet who got it right. (out of the industrialized planets)
  6. What I want to know is why it's wilderness right outside the populated house of a nobleman. Also you'd think they'd take a harder stance on the giant killer bug people that hunt them in the jungle and turn them into mind slaves. Did they want to build noble houses on a planet filled with killer bug people? Considering that they "have no weapons" in the future according to Princess Leia did they...make peace with the killer bug people? Destroy them finally? Why do they use uncomfortable looking flying dinosaur bats when they also have speeders?
  7. Is it possible to harness it to gain super powers like the force? It seems just as ever present and mysterious. It's all around me, yet I neither can I see it or quite understand it sometimes. It's consistency abruptly changes as if it's toying with me. Sometimes it's my ally while other times my enemy. I wish to channel it's power to find greater truth.
  8. Just for future reference, a "guest" companion works the same as a normal companion in EVERY respect, except they won't do crew skills for you, won't appear on your ship, and you can't get affection based companion quests with them yet.
  9. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v189/spikerosered/threedeadlysiths002.jpg Well it's pictures like this that even make me want to play a Sith, and the closer we can get armor to looking like this, the more I want to play. More glowing highlights I say! The more the merrier!
  10. Nothing you do in this quest matters. (period) Nothing is ever referred to again as far as I can tell. Revan appears twice in the main quest. The first on Dromund Kass, the second is with the Infinity Engine (I forget which planet that was on) Then of course you get the Foundry.
  11. Thanks for the guide, I agree this should be a sticky.
  12. I like the current armor, I just wish there was more of it. The armor progress videos for ALL classes give you the sense that your character is gonna change a lot as you progress, however I've found that there is an alarming amount of armor diversity. You'd think with the concept of custom items everyone could look different, but since there are like...two styles for SI outside of the sets you still look the same. Seriously there's robes (w/ and w/out shoulder armor) and metal collar robes (w/ and w/out shoulder armor) Bah!
  13. I think the fact that they hid goes against both of their forward thinking characters. The best time to strike was right now! I don't care if they failed once...try again! What are you going to wait until the Emperor's power is secured and he's able to amass even MORE political power. Though lets not forget who he easily convinced 1 bagilliion Senators that fascism is the way to go! I HATE HATE THE PREQUELS!
  14. For what character do they say this? I've only played SI all the way and I never got that sense.
  15. Probably has been said before but how the heck is what we experience in ToR a Cold War? According to the lore there is a treaty that maintains a peace between Republic and Empire, however the amount of open conflict between the two is staggering. I understand that they're always trying to be sneaky sneaky, but I feel like every planet has multiple quest givers who complain that their ENTIRE unit was wiped out by the opposing faction I'm not a history buff but I feel like a report that an American squad of troops were wiped out by the Russians it would have...strained attempts at maintaining peace during 50's-70's. Aren't they openly fighting each other on Illum?
  16. Well I guess I'm glad that you get a good reason eventually to side with the Imps, but I'm sad that there can't be a third neutral faction of some kind. While on Hutta it was nice for one to truly be pursuing my own goals rather than the goals of my superiors from the get go. It felt more like character you make in a pencil and paper role playing game. When you're playing DnD (or even Star Wars: RPG) you usually don't make a character beholdant to someone else, you typically make them a free agent that will experience the world and grow. It was nice for a little while at least to not have to listen to some imperial talk about how his whole unit was wiped out by w/e it is you are about to fight.
  17. You need it for a lot of end game relics and some equips I think. Mostly for the relics though.
  18. One thing I really liked on Hutta is that the BH seemed to be the first class that truly had no allegiance. I get that the Mandalorians have a deal with the Imps, but that only explains why you start out hanging around empire planets. To continue to do so seems forced though. I'm in the middle of Dromund Kass. Is there a stronger reason to side with the imperials that surfaces?
  19. Well I know for the fact the 0 think ain't true. I've respecced 3 times on my main. The first time when I was level 13 or so and I wanted to go under a diff tree it was 0. The second time I was close to 50 and It cost about 1000. (not sure about this price) Just the other day already 50 and probably 2 weeks since my last respec it cost 1300.
  20. The reason that 5 hours playing a MMO and 5 hours playing a console feel different is because of the travel time. You can spend 5 hours and it barely feels like you played at all since you didn't get a lot accomplished, while since a console game is made to be played efficiently you can sometimes get through most of the game in that time.
  21. I still think Rift is the only game to really do group quests right. You just wander in and start helping, it was great! the only downside is that people sometimes get free rides or come in just as it ends and finish the quest. (my first experience was like that humorously enough) I still loved it.
  22. I think they are either rare drops from operations or already attached to a piece of Jedi pvp/pve set armor. My guess is the prior, likely a rare drop from a boss in an operation. I think it's stuff like crystals, speeders, and the like that you hope to drop in the raid.
  23. But in the fantasy power shooting "x" out of your fingers is pretty much the norm. Yet it just works in this game for some reason. I don't get it.
  24. I have no affinity for the lightning element. If there are mage types in video games I'm never drawn to casters who can use lightning. Yet for some reason in this game I find a class wholly based around lightning attacks to be super awesome. What is it about making it purple that I find so attractive?! I guess because it's so classically villainous? It's such a typical villain power to use "dark lightning" or "dark energy" of some kind. I dunno what do y'all think?
  25. So I don't really get the thinking behind this class. You are a thoughtful Jedi who seeks knowledge and peace yet you specialize in shanking unsuspecting victims from behind? Making a Consular this seems kind of forced...
