  1. We have them. Go to page 17 of the post entitled 1.2 Sniper Damage broken? You will see all the data you need...
  2. I am curious to see how the cover mechanic evolves. Quite frankly, I think it's horrible for raid scenarios when you have to be on the move constantly, or for area effects (reticles etc). 1 major problem is that if you are in cover and casting an ability, there is a half second delay from exiting cover and moving. An easy way to test this is to go into cover and then move forward. There will be 0 delay. Now go in to cover and cast orbital strike or barrage and as soon as you click it, move. This carries over to (at least this point) 1.2 and the Toth/Zorn fight is even more of an issue because it forces you to remain on the move and thus destroys your DPS for that fight. A fight which is already very timer unfriendly. My concern is that for raids and this horrible mechanic, it makes it almost unnecessary to have a sniper. Consider the lack luster performance of Snipers over all, the inability to cleanse, heal or otherwise survive in some fights, and the cover mechanic which is bugged and causes Snipers to take unnecessary damage. You are forced to be mobile in many of the Ops. You have to be constantly on the run during the reticle phase of Toth/Zorn or you will die. So, dropping into cover, to pop off an ambush or snipe or whatever could realistically get you killed with any kind of a cast time. Insta snipe, ok... But over all, it's a huge issue. Realistically speaking here, why would anyone take a Sniper over a Merc, that can: 1) Wear heavy Armor 2) Do as much or more DPS 3) Has the same range 4) Can Heal AND cleanse 5) Can Battle Rez 6) Don't have the added Cover mechanic 7) Have over all more raid survivability I realize we have a Shield and a buff, but after you have 1 Sniper in raid, that's all you really need. You could have 5-6 Mercs and do well. 5-6 snipers and you are in trouble. In my humble opinion, I honestly think Sniper needs something more to bring to the table. If they aren't going to have the survivability, give us something that we can have bragging rights on... Our DPS should be off the charts to compensate for the lack of utility. And that little entrench buff they added in 1.2 means nothing when the reticles etc are random. If you are in cover and in the middle of a long cast ability and you try to entrench, it waits until you cast your first ability, queues your entrench then does the entrench. It may absorb whatever it is 60% I forget damage, but that's only if you are able to get it off before the impending doom strikes. I don't know, just food for thought.
  3. Based on what? I don't get that conclusion at all.... In fact I get that no one has contradicted anything I said with substantial proof. The 1 parse they referred to was a test parse to show the damage of all abilities, Not to show over all DPS. The subsequent parse was a more accurate depiction of DPS. The 1st parse was taken out of context by a few trolls that have yet to post anything substantial.
  4. You sir, are my new best friend Thank you for clarifying that for me! Definitely on my Xmas card list And to add to that, there were others who have posted their numbers on the test server forums and they are all consistently 1000-1200 DPS. I have seen a lot of trolls posting that it's a L2P issue, but yet not a one (troll) has posted anything to contradict any of this. Even if I am the worst Sniper in the game, and I can't shoot my way out of a paper bag, even if my rotation is totally screwed up, my numbers are still consistent with everyone that has posted their parse logs. This in and of it's self has to show for something.
  5. Reposted with a link from PTS http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=3627829#post3627829
  6. Currently we are using 2 methods of parsing. 1 is the ACT version that figures everything out, calculates it and breaks everything down. The other is very generic. It calculates the numbers but you have to manually divide the damage done by the time. This eliminates the ACT flaw in that there is a 10-15 second delay from when you stop DPSing to the time the log stops. That 15 seconds will substanitally drop your numbers. So we take the time we ended, calculate the time we stopped dps'ing (around 10-15 seconds according to the log file) and then divide the time in seconds by the damage done. ie 125,000 damage in 3 minutes = 125,000 / 180 = 694.4 dps. That said, the other classes are using the same methods at the same time, with the same buffs (didn't use blood lust tho because it's too inflamatory a stat buff) they are still consistently putting up much higher numbers. If it was JUST snipers doing the tests, then we could say it could be the parsers, but comparatively speaking, even if the parsers are ascue, it still gives us a comparison. I wonder though if internal damage is calculated at the same rate.... I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that Snipers are the only class that uses internal damage for alot of it's abilities. If internal damage is not being calculated at the same rate that the other damage (ranged, tech etc) that would put us much lower than actual.
  7. I would love to think that's the case, but we had 4 snipers all running the test 1 full MM, 1 Lethality/Engineer, and 2 Cull (Lethality/MM) and all 4 were putting up around the same numbers. The Lethality/MM seemed to get the higher averages but I got the highest over all number. If it were just me, then I could say that is very likely the case. I do VERY well in PvP, I am always the top 3 damage, so I find it a hard pill to swallow that my DPS is that bad, but if 4 of us all running the same gear, different specs all put up around the same numbers, I can't help but think it may be the class. Another thing to consider too is how much that will drop off in an actual raid scenario when snipers are forced to be on the move. I can only imagine that it will drop drastically. Which is even scarrier for the raiding Sniper. That said, I am hoping that others see this post and put up their honest numbers so that we can get some more insight.
  8. I am Lethality/Engineering Hybrid, so my damage is internal from poison stacks and cull. But still... The numbers were based on full raid buffs, and a 3-5 minute parse. (Guild formed a raid grouped, buffed up and hit the dummy). The parses were then done with ACT and a guild members web based parser. The dps is based off of the amount of damage done divided by the time. So after 3-5 minutes, everyone would stop. We would then open up the logged file in ACT and the web based parser and compare. We did this several times and it always came up with the same results. Sniper DPS/Damage was considerably lower than the other classes. Marauders and Mercs consistently did upwards of 16-1700. The Snipers ranged from 900-1200. There were a few that we (snipers) hit that were higher... I hit 1479 at one point, but it was 1 time out of MANY and by the end of the night, I was getting worse.... I am going to change around some mods a little more on test. I am still over stacked with Crit and Accuracy. My Accuracy is 112% and Crit is 40% Cunning is 1800. Going to switch out to columi mods (surge/power) and re run the tests tonight.
  9. I have been raiding 16 man Ops since January. I am full Rakata and have played every spec in the attempts to find the greatest raid DPS. I have played the Cull Spec, full MM, Lethality and Lethality Hybrid (current spec). I have min/maxed most of my gear to it's fullest. (Except on Test server where transfer went over before changes). That said, I have been parsing my character in the attempt to fine tune my DPS to the best that I can and to find the spec with the most DPS. However, my test results are EXTREMELY disappointing. I was able to only hit a MAX DPS of 1479. However, my averages were anywhere from 900-1200. Considering every other class that was testing with me was able to sustain easily over 14-1500+ with little effort shows me that the class that is suppose to be extremely competetive is actually pretty broken. Thinking it was me, I had the other snipers in the guild run their numbers and we were all consistently hitting around the same numbers 1100-1300. They say theoretically, that snipers should be doing 2K plus, I call BS. (These tests were all run on the practice dummy btw). Mercs, Marauders blow our numbers out of the water. Hell we even have a tank putting out 1400+. I tried MM and focused on keeping energy above 60. I've used the Cull spec and focused on energy staying up and utilizing Cull with the poisons, I've not used snipe, used snipe, checked my rotation against every post I could find and still am only hitting 900--1200. And I am working my *** off to get the numbers as high as I can. When you have a Merc that can hit 1500 while falling asleep at the keyboard. I am curious as to hear some others experience with the parse and see what kind of numbers we are suppose to put up. Maybe I am doing something completely wrong and don't realize it, or maybe the DPS is actually broken and needs to be reevaluated by the Devs...
  10. I am the Lethality Hybrid and I love it. I don't stand around in one place and snipe passers by, I go out and play strategic. I Love groups that gravitate together. I absolutely dot them up and cull, I absolutely use Orbital Strike whenever I can... Usually in front of fires when a group with the ball is waiting to cross, or at the center when groups love to gather for coffee. I will snipe someone low on health in a heart beat. Because that puts them behind the wall and less people attacking/defending. My whole reason for going Lethality based was for the mobility so that I'm not a sitting duck. I went MM for a long time and after getting my arse handed to me from having to be in cover all the time, I went for a change. Now I can chase people down that are either attacking our ball carrier or chasing down the opposing carrier and hit them with a bunch of damage. For the record, I screen shotted a pretty average Huttball score... I'm Admar at the top... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v705/Belgaram/300k.jpg Not anywhere near 600k... Thats impressive as hell... I've only broken 400k in voidstar...

  13. 1) Lighten Up Francis.... 2) This is the General Forums and is game forum related 3) This is a light hearted response to all of the posts that people make that everyone thinks "Are you serious?"
  14. Some Comedy relief... I have been reading through a lot of the posts on here. Between every day posts, speculation posts, guild summit posts etc and it never ceases to amaze me how people are so .... Wierd.... Here is my rant to all those that we read on here everyday and just want to throw out a window... I see people in one post saying "I just cancelled my account because of X!!" Then the same person posting HOURS later in another forum about how excited they are about a particular addition to 1.2.... Dude... Seriously? You just quit like 3 hours ago! It's no wonder the world is the way it is! Reading these forums sometimes is like standing in the middle of a busy city and listening to people shouting about the end of the world as others walk past and laugh. People speculate about everything! They get half a sentence that someone posts about and run with it in a direction that makes NO sense at all. Common sense people! Companies like this are built on customer support and putting out the best product they can. They are not secretly planning and post-poning release of 1.2 because of some Freemason secret collaboration or to time it with people's subscriptions or whatever other propoganda. And *** is up with some of these questions in the Guild Summit?!?! I swear some people were talking JUST to talk.... There were some questions that I don't even know HOW they were able to give an answer to! If I were a Bioware employee and was on that panel, they'd probably ask me to step down and get some fresh air... Questions were like.... Uhh... My name is Bob, and I'm um a guild leader and stuff.... And like ya know, my guild doesn't like to PvP and stuff, so what are you guys doing to make it fair for us to get Valor levels.... ::flying chair at Bob's head:: Seriously people, You have known about this Summit long enough for your mom to pack your suit case and for you to unlock your basement and leave... You had plenty of time to prepare legit questions that are actually relevant! If YOU did actually prepare questions and they were answered before it got to you....Pass! You have no more questions! They answered it! Don't make one up on the fly! If you quit the game for whatever reason, QUIT! We Don't care.... Really.... Your telling us about it means nothing! I will still continue to play and when I do decide to move on, I won't post about it for you to read, cuz YOU don't care! Oh and for the record, I seriously doubt that Bioware cares that you quit. "Well! I am a paying customer and I demand satisfaction!!! Yeah ok Doosh... You are that person that stands at the Walmart customer service line making a scene because the markdown price of those hot new sweatpants didn't match the tagged price. Or the one in a restaurant that, while the waitress is taking anothers order, shouts "EXCUSE ME.....EXCUSE ME!!!... I need some butter..... Have Fun!!
  15. See this is what happens when you only get half the information. What they said was, the patch is expected to be released in early April because they are opening up the PTS servers soon and want to allow for enough time for testing and to work out any bugs before the patch is released. It has nothing to do with subscriptions or financial planning boards with fiscal projections... It's they are working on some things still... remember this patch has a TON of new content... It has been in testing locally, they are opening it up to the PTS and are going to need the time to work out reported bugs. Conspiracy theorists are everywhere! Oh and the end of the world is coming in December so what does it matter any way?
