  1. I have the same problem. Also, you likely are missing the codex entry for the critter you fight after you make your light saber. Both of these entries, from what i could research, are ONLY...repeat ONLY available to get while you are IN the instance where you make your lightsaber. On the forge itself is the 'glowy blue' clicky that you need to use to get the lore entry. Once you have completed that instance and left through the instance door it, of course, turns red and you can't go back in and get those 2 codex entries. From what I can tell the ONLY way you wiil now be able to get those entries is to enter that instance with a lowbie toon, sharing their instances, so you can get to the lore object. There's a few codex entries in the game like this so its a good idea when you're in an instance to make sure there are no lore clickies anywhere around. But odds are, you'll still miss some.
  2. I had to LOL...a lot...at that picture. And yes. As much as I enjoy the game the sentinel end-game armor is gawd-awful! I keep looking at the shoulders and wondering if the deisigners were high or just no-talent hacks. In fact, I have refused to wear my 'set' bonus item, but rather rip out the mods, so I can put them in armor that looks so much better. I mean for heaven's sake, he's a damn warrior not a peacock!
  3. The term 'carebear' i don't believe describes a player who does not like PvP. Rather its more of an adjective to describe a type of game or style of game that is not hard. Its very easy. It offers little challenge or penalty. You can't be 'hurt' by anything in the game. Nothing 'bad' really ever happens. So the comment about people liking a 'carebear' game is saying that some gamers (mostly the casual crowd) wants a game that's more fluff and flowers than hard, gritty, difficult experience.
  4. Didn't read all the pages, so I apologize in advance if these points have been made. First, camping on the fleet I don't find to be an exploit. A little cheesy perhaps and not quite what was intended but really....who cares? If people want to spend their game time standing around getting blown and infected, so be it. I chose to get my DNA samples by questing and getting other loot as well. I thought it was a cool idea about a plague spreading across the universe. that's why it was easy to get off planet with it. The WHOLE concept was about this plague spreading and if it goes to a lowbie planet so much the better. It was supposed to be a terrible thing. I say KUDOS! And if you really wanted to not get infected you just had to pay a little bit of attention to what was going on around you. As far as the PvP flag...well that's a bug in the game and one they are fixing. Its not that big a deal however.
  5. Why you would continue to troll the tor forums when you think the game is 'crappy' baffles me. Obviously, you'd much rather be playing something else, so for your happiness's sake, I'd suggest you go and do that. Those of us left, who like the game will wish you a fond farewell.
  6. Well, I'm not a big fan of the new look forums either. LIke the look, feel and color of the old one better. Plus on this crappy cpu/monitor at work it crops off the far right side of the pages so I can't click to the next page of a thread...highly irritating.
  7. Having played with group finders in both WoW and LOTRO, I personally don't care for them in any way, shape or form. Its been my experience that most people only use the Group finder for premade groups anyway and that most are still found via the /general LFG message, then once the group has formed using the finder to launch the instance. Random groups thrown together for content is a crap shoot at best and often you end up with classes that don't really go together. The other thing that happens is that people tend to not go anywhere in the world once a GF is introduced. Most people are hanging out in the main population center and jumping in from there. Unfortuanely, there probably will be a gf for this game too but its really just unnecessary and irritating.
  8. Really? can you not make the frickin window that pop up in game movable? is it really that effin hard?
  9. Why is surge garbage? Did they nerf it and I missed it?
  10. well you can buy the black/yellow one from a vendor on the fleet. But last time I looked that's the only crystal that vendor had.
  11. It took me a while to stop laughing, seriously tears down the face and everything, with this comparison. I mean..>OMG!!! STO was about the worst game I've ever played. The only thing they got right with STO is the space combat, which is fun and exciting. HOWEVER, after you go do the same mission for the billionth time, even though its a different system even that gets dull. STO was simply just horrible! If you thought lvling was easy here to 50, I did STO in a week. If you thought there was nothing to do here, you were about ready to kill yourself looking for things to do in STO at this same time frame. Oh..and crafting in STO? uhm..nevermind I really don't have the time to go into the abomination that it was/is. TOR's is by far better! Ground battles...oy vey. their big instances....i stayed for the first three. About the worst designed dungeons I've ever played. Oh and for people who complain about the running in TOR; how about dying at the end of the maze in the dungeon and having to make the 5-7 run back from the beginning of the dungeon and by the time you get back things are respawning around you. Oh and top that off with horribly designed mechanics that make battles ridiculously irritating and if you finally get to the end of it and win...you get...wait for it....ONE...exactly one...no more...no less....but ONE item that you have a 1in 6 chance to win. yah..so 2-4 hrs/dungeon, die a ton of times and win...nothing. Great fun. Anyway, I could go on and on and on and on and on but please don't bring up STO here and make comparisons you'll be laughed off the forums.
  12. Compared to STO, when it launched, TOR is LIGHTYEARS ahead of that game. TOR also has FAR LESS irritating game issues than STO it feels like a breath of fresh air. LOTRO at launch had its issues and over the last 4 years they've worked a lot of the bugs out of the interfaces and the like. Their issue is the F2P and stupid gameplay. So, what's all that mean? TOR has great stories. Its got great levelling. The instances are a lot of fun. Its got a lot of crappy interfaces and some bugs. To me, TOR's problems are easier to fix than LOTRO/STO problems as they have the important things right.
  13. Not bothering to have read the whole post, my 2 cents is simply: Well, its YOUR most important issue. I for one, haven't noticed or cared that there isn't a combat log. Hasn't really made any difference to me in what I've been doing and if it was never in the game I wouldn't care.
  14. Of all the things I like about the game and the mostly non-issues I've had w/it, the new cooldown affect is really irritating. I didn't have ANY issues b4 knowing what skills were on CD or now and now I find myself squinting at my hotbar wondering if my skill are going to work. I've keybound all my most important skills so I wouldn't have to be staring at the key board all the time and now I find myself not being able to look away due to all the flashy lights. Its highly irritating. Please go back to one of the earlier builds of the bar. It was so much better than this abortion! kthanksbyebye durkadurkadurka
  15. BUt you wouldn't have to talk, just be able to listen to instructions and that i don't think is too much to ask of someone joining a group.
  16. Now that you mention it.... that did exactly happen one time to me....lvl 50 sith type person just blew me into atoms and rode off on his speeder laughing...dur
  17. Guaranteed true fact. There is IN FACT a GTN terminal on Tatooine. Its in the lawless open pvp area, can't remember the name of it atm (maybe Outlaw's Den?). Beware going in there, whether you are flagged or not, makes you eligible to be attacked by members of the other faction.
  18. A global LFG chat channel across all planets as mentioned above. This would be a good idea. use the same thing in LOTRO and it works very well.
  19. This argument makes no sense. You try and argue that Imperial players, which there are more of, find it easy to make a group and that republic players have a hard time because there is no LFG tool. Your own statements disprove your arguement. The problem is not enough Republic players NOT the lack of a widget. That's what you really need to argue and state as your premise. The lack of Republic players vs the amount of Imperial players make it difficult to find a group. A server wide LFG really won't fix the discrepancy in number of players. So, you might have an arguement about how to get more people playing republic side but not that your lack of grouping is due to no widget.
  20. So here's some suggestions of some things that I find slightly irritating at them NOT being in the game and i wish they were: --In-game voice chat. System like LOTRO uses is very stable and convenient. --Whispers: repeated /r will cycle through the whispers you have received starting with the latest received and back to the first one you've gotten. --Change the GTN so that you can drag/drop an item into a field on the 'sell' page so when you push 'search' it will look for that exact item. --make the type fonts bigger. The tootips, GTN, codex entries. quest etc fonts should be larger so as not be so hard to read. --Ability to drag/drop items into chat window rather than ctrl +. Also to be able to hover the mouse over an item in the chat window and have comparison window pop up with what you and your companion are wearing. Also, it seems that things like shield generators and foci for companions don't pop up in a comparison window. --Guild ships/guild banks
  21. Uhmm..yah...so I wasn't having any of these problems to begin with, let alone having it continue. In fact, the one big issue I was having disappeared with the last patch and my game has been running great and the companion convo that was stuck (kira) is all fixed and I'm all caught up now. So, I'm curious as to how you think you can speak for me and I'm sure countless others in your statment of "EVERYONE". mktybybye
  22. LOTRO's in-game voice works very well. I was surprised that this game didn't have it either. Its a handy tool to have when you PUG with folks. Much easier and faster than typing and I think, in reality, the number of people of have outside voice chat programs is the minority and not the majority. And its a pain in the *** to give out your Vent info to random strangers.
  23. What about the GTN on Tatooine? Is that one linked to both fleets?
  24. swtor-spy.com has locations for most everything, but it seems noone has found the species entries....similar thing is happening on several worlds. There are several codex entries that are broken
