  1. Apparently, Kaldron, this Fell on deaf ears.... Interesting ideas for sure. Personally lately I've been avoiding playthroughs with my companion on heal mode just because it makes the game completely unchallening and thus quite boring. I truly wish they would bring more challenge back to the leveling experience. It has me wishing there was a "SWTOR Classic" flavor of the game.
  2. The case I'm talking about is the case where a qualified character (one that has both the LIght V and Dark V achievements on their account) can simply swap their original combat style for the opposite faction's "mirror" combat style. (Marauder/Sentinel, Juggernaut/Guardian, Shadow/Assassin, etc). We had this ability if our character had been created prior to 7.0 coming out: You could simply switch your character to the opposite mirror combat style if you'd had even one point into the opposite faction. I'm talking about a paid service that would permit this to happen on demand instead of it being a one time selection. I mean, certainly I can add Assassin as my second combat style on my shadow (since I have Dark V), but I'd rather just swap out my Shadow for Assassin and do something else for my second combat style that's still available to be filled.
  3. Ahhh, okay, that's an interesting consideration from an RP perspective and I'd never thought about how cool it might be to do some of those stories with later companions. Although, the expense of recording voice-overs for all of the possible companion combinations you could have in the early stories would be rather gigantic. Unless you're not concerned about cut-scenes, and just want them to be there by your side through the missions for RP purposes, that is.
  4. I see your point; it isn't *exactly* the same experience. Although I think "not even remotely the same" is a bit of a stretch. 😉 Because, let's face it, there are people who do exactly what I mentioned, and it gives them the satisfaction of a class story replay-through without the hassles of a brand new level 1 character with limited abilities, and they're perfectly fine with that experience. But anyway, to your point, it would be a cool thing for them to just allow replaying of any of the stories like they do with KOTFE/KOTET, but I don't think they'll find enough of a justification from a business perspective for this unfortunately.
  5. Let's say I have Jedi Shadow, but definitely like the Assassin combat animations a lot more. As opposed to the idea of dedicating my second combat style slot to a mirror class, I'd love to instead be able to buy a token or service that can let me switch out my Shadow combat style for Assassin if I qualify. (That is, you have the Dark V achievement already.) This way I can be the assassin that I've always wanted to be, and I still can have a second combat style that that is completely different. It's another paid service, so it is a source of revenue for BioWare/EA.
  6. Creating a new character and using the level 80 boost token to get all abilities, and then playing through the class story is effectively the same thing as far as player experience, but and it gives BioWare/EA revenue. I feel they're not likely to implement a class story "replay" for existing characters because of this.
  7. I am experiencing this exact same issue. I have a Sith Sorcerer who's second combat style is an Assassin. As soon as I flip to the Assassin style and then flip back to Sorcerer, I lose Overload. However, when I quick travel to the Fleet or to my ship, Overload mysteriously returns. This is definitely a bug.
  8. I'm experiencing the same bug, and was just about to post this in the forums when I saw this post from five years back -- hence the reason for my necrotic resurrection of this 2016 thread.. Hopefully, the powers that be are still interested in fixing this.
  9. Thanks for the update Eric. Most of us out here very much appreciate everything you guys do. It's only the child-like vocal minority that will come onto threads like these to complain about extended downtime.
  10. I really would like to see an official update from the game developers on this issue. The lack of 3D mouse pointer and nameplates rendered at 3D-depth is really irritating. Both WoW and GuildWars2 do all of this correctly. It's time that SWTOR becomes just as robust with 3D Vision rendering.
  11. Thank you Georg, and thank you BioWare, for keeping us in the loop on this! It is very encouraging to hear you've identified a number of the causes for these issues, and have been able to apply fixes to at least some of them. We anxiously await this next major patch. If only I could copy a character to the PTS... I'd love to be able to see how the changes affect my JK. In any case, good luck, and god speed.
  12. /subscribed I'm really looking forward to hearing about BioWare's eventual solution to the ability delay issue, which has plagued me ever since I started my Jedi Knight.
  13. Excellent points. Force Sweep's "stun" seems to be useless for anything other than PVE trash mobs, and I truly would like to see that fixed. /Subscribed, as I'd like to see BioWare's thoughts.
  14. Partially confirmed, via the CTRL left/click preview. Unfortunately the Elder Vindicator's Headgear is Heavy Armor, and I'm incapable of wearing this piece because I'm a Sentinel. However, it indeed *appears* that wearing this piece is a solution. Clearly this invalidates the argument that artwork would have to be redone for a /hood option to be implemented, since as far as the game client is concerned, rendering of the the hood can be easily suppressed depending on the headpiece (or in this case an eye visor). Too bad I didn't roll a Guardian, I'd be all over this little item.
  15. I'm encouraged to hear that the SWTOR development team is taking very immediate steps in addressing the ability-delay and character-responsiveness issues. I'm looking very forward to experiencing these fixes that you are promising, as it has been frustrating so far.
