  1. Definitely. But as others have already explained, I don't think it really has anything to do with *only* the Imps speaking that way. Also, there are still plenty of Imps in-game who don't speak that way.
  2. I find it funny that, even though it says right on your Legacy tab in-game that the system isn't implemented yet and the rewards are to come, yet you still wasted all that time farming to lvl 25 in hopes of a reward? Oh yeah, and about the guy angrily complaining about being forced to take a Legacy name back on page 2 or 3 ... cool story bro. Now take a chill pill, open your Preferences menu and turn the display off. Lookit that, no more Legacy name!
  3. Weird. I have always been able to add my alts in TOR, but haven't once been able to add a friend who is offline without getting the "Player does not exist" error.
  4. It seems that they can wear alignment restricted gear and social stuff. I tried to outfit Kira in a Consular specific robe though and no dice. EDIT: This is mostly likely why.
  5. Interviews and and articles aside, as not everyone has time to follow their favorite games behind the scenes, tell me why then they STILL advertise high resolution textures on their website and in ALL of their gameplay videos? Honestly this wasn't that big of an issue for me until I popped on the forums and saw the gripe about what their website has been displaying. Now, I knew my game looked like crap before that - and frankly was stumped as to why since the game looked rather fantastic in Beta - but I just sort of figured, "Hey, this is BioWare, it must be a bug they're working on fixinng." Then I read the forums. Then I went to the website and went through a bunch of the screenshots and gameplay videos. Now I'm mad and feel lied to. Now, I'm not going to threaten to cancel my subscription or anything - and in no way blame those choosing to - but false advertising is false advertising no matter how you cut it. Even after this wonderfully distracting reply from SR, they still have the same screenshots and videos on their site. Anyone else notice, too, that in their gameplay videos that robed Jedi Knights or Sith Warriors don't succumb to BBS (big-butt syndrome)? I want to play the game you guys show on your website. Where can I get that, cus apparently I bought the wrong game.
  6. I have a Guardian, but he's a full tank spec so I can't say if they're really DPS viable or what. Sentinel is good dps, despite what people will try to tell you. I play a Sentinel as my main currently, haven't had a single issue most people report when claiming that Sentinel is a "garbage" class. I've never played a Sage, healer or DPS spec, but I have played a Shadow. I like the Shadows DPS, when spec'd right, but I was a tank spec Shadow. I have a few friends who DPS with SHadows though and are pretty damn good. I guess your set on a Jedi class? Smuggler is also some serious DPS, least with Gunslinger. Can't speak personally for Scoundrels.
  7. No, in that case, his friends Legacy is Doe. His player title is The Honorable.
  8. This. Also, there was a group summon ability like the OP describes in Beta, but it wasn't called rally and everyone had it, not just Consulars.
  9. No, for whatever reason BioWare has never really had a search function on any of their game forums. Never been one here that I'm aware of. Pisses a lot of people off. Also, not sure about the CE Camera shots, but regular screenshots are located in My Documents > Star Wars - The Old Republic > Screenshots. Maybe check there? I assume they'll either be in a separate folder in the Old Republic directory in My Documents, or in that Screenshot folder with the others.
  10. The best? Hardly. Just about everything on the market at the time had either already grown stagnant or was well on its way (for the majority of the MMO community, not everyone obviously). I actually played WoW at release. Now, not saying you didn't, you just haven't mentioned it when you started playing up to this point. The game was a mess. People stuck around, but not because it was the best. It was simply new. And it had a lot of weight behind it's name, thanks to the success of the original Warcraft series. Kinda like how SWTOR has gotten such a big draw thanks to the Star Wars title and the fact that it's BioWare making it. Most people were willing to stick around and wait out the bullsh*t in the early days of WoW because they were simply tired of doing the same old sh*t in the other games they'd been playing for the last 5+ years. You say SWTOR isn't worth the wait and yet thousands of people have been waiting years to play it and are still more than willing to wait for the expected bugs to be ironed out.
  11. Especially after reading through the Art & Making of SWTOR and seeing what some of the original concept designs were.
  12. And where in the lore were there ever thousands of Jedi and Sith all running around the same planets? Even before the Jedi became scarce in the galaxy, and despite all the times the Sith have re-emerged throughout history, there have never been so many Jedi and Sith running rampant as there are in-game. And that's just right now. What about when the player population keeps rising?
  13. Not arguing this by any means, just wanted to point out something. Saying that they observed a tradition in no way equates to light side aligned Force-wielders can not use these. I get that Sith used red lightsabers and Jedi used Blue/Green/Yellow. They did the same thing with G.I. Joe back in the day. Was easier to tell the good guys and the bad guys apart. That being said, it's still almost laughable that anything at all should actually restrict me from picking up a rock off the ground and stuffing it into the hilt of my imaginary light sword.
  14. There's also an option to not display the corruption if it really bothers you so much. This is an online game. You really surprised that people want to flex the old e-peen and show off how evil they are? Not absolutely everyone has to be a tight-arsed fanboiy who thinks any slight deviation from the movies, especially in a video game of all things, is somehow blasphemous.
  15. That's a good question. Why DID you pay for the game, then? Especially if, as you've just said, you feel as if EA has something against you or Europe as a whole? I have clinically diagnosed insomnia. I can't sleep and when I do it's typically during the daytime hours. I live in the US, EST. Guess what? All these downtimes cut into my primary play time as well. Only difference is, I realize that despite being a video game, it has to be run and maintained by real people. Real people do not work 24 hours around the clock and most certainly not around the globe. Just because it's the middle of the night where you are, doesn't mean it's the middle of the night everywhere. In fact, in a large part of the world, it is still day time and people are still working. Guess what? Those people need to go be able to go home and sleep, too. Do you not have a job? Have you never had a job? If, say, it was your job to run the only shop in town that carried a certain product, would it be fair of me to expect you to be not only be open 24hrs a day but for you to personally be there behind the counter, as well? Seriously, where is this magic country you all seem to live in where everything revolves around you specifically and there is seemingly always someone there to cater to your every want and desire? Because I could use a vacation from the real world, myself.
  16. I definitely understand where you're coming from man, but unfortunately the only way to acquire Social Rank is to be social. I tend to level the same way myself in most games, but to be honest having even one person to tool around with in this game makes it more enjoyable and it goes by quicker as well. Granted, as you said, it's not always easy to just meet new people and start rolling out content with them, but it can be done. Of course, on the flip side, you're not really missing out on much by not leveling your Social Rank. Not in any way saying it's not worth doing or people shouldn't waste their time, just saying you won't ultimately lose out on anything if you choose not to do it because you're a solo player.
  17. While it's true that there is alignment restricted gear out there, you're not anymore right in what you're saying. Alignment is never something that you're completely locked into; sure it has a cap, but even once you reach it you can still turn around and grind yourself up/down in the other direction. Also, as someone else stated there is plenty of non-alignment gear that is just as good or better out there for every piece of alignment restricted gear. Even relics, which you can just build yourself for better stats and not have to worry about alignment restrictions. I'm not saying you're wrong if you choose to default to one side or the other for every choice you make, but to say you can't play how you want to is just not true. It's all a matter of preference; sure you might have to work a bit harder to get some good gear, but that in no way means it isn't worth it or isn't possible. New player or not, I always recommend people make their choices based on the situation and not some perceived reward/penalty due to an alignment choice. Where's the fun in just absent-mindedly pressing 1 or 3 every time?
  18. Yeah, Family Guy .. heh. Peter says it in one of the older episodes.
  19. This is directly linked to raids. In most MMOs you can typically only run a specific raid, or phase of a raid, once a week.
  20. This. Regardless of how ya do it, it's always gonna be a slow haul. You basically only earn 1 point per group member during conversation, 2 when you win the roll. Which mean the most you're ever going to see with a full group is 8pts per roll and even then it's only when you're winning the rolls. But yeah, really the best way is to just find at least one person to buddy up with and run quests together; pick them up together and hand them in together, don't just do the quests themselves and part ways.
  21. The Devs have mentioned before that it's on their agenda to add this feature, but so far haven't said when.
  22. I'd say that, beyond what's been outlined above, it's really going to come down to personal preference and how you want to see your story in-game play out. Sure, most of the time the actual difference between a Light and Dark side choice might just be a simple line of text in a larger conversation, but more often than not it will actually lead you down a different path toward completing an objective, or cause a quest's final outcome (in terms of content, not reward) to be altered in some way. EDIT: Oh yeah. Also wanted to mention that, in relation to gear, alignment isn't always that big of a deal. Yes, there IS plenty of alignment restricted gear, but it's also quite easy in this game to buff your alignment one way or the other at will. I've personally dropped from Light II all the way down to Dark I and am currently back at Light I on my Sentinel; I'm also only level 20.
  23. You mean like the sidekick feature in CoH? There's nothing like that in this game as present. Haven't heard any mention of plans for it, either.
  24. I'm not sure what you mean. I'm a medium armor user. Every piece of orange, moddable armor I've seen has a base armor rating of, like, 16 I believe? Conversely, on my tank, I believe the base for heavy armor is always something like 25? The numbers may be wrong, as I can't log in and check right now, but I know they're always the same within a given armor class. This is regardless of whether the item itself is level 15 or 50. I know there is a bug where, when you first add an armoring mod to a new piece of mod gear, the armor or weapon rating doesn't always update and will still show it's base un-modded armor value, but beyond that I haven't seen any bug effecting this.
  25. Not sure about the Imps specifically, but Republic side there is an NPC that handles this on Coruscant. I'd imagine you all have an equivalent on Dromund Kaas. Look near the Guild Registrar NPC, should be with them or in that same general area.
