  1. So if I'm correct I think I've been gone for about... okay more than 6 months maybe. I had a few pieces of War Hero gear. Since coming back I've been running into lvl 30's and 40's with 27-30k HP in the warzones. With my fort stim on and full buffs I'm sitting at around 22k at lvl 52. I understand pvp isn't all about hp, but I'm wondering what changed? Why do they have so many hps? Why can't I kill a lvl 46 spamming heals on himself when I do several full rotations and interrupt every time something is up to interrupt with? Really what has changed, and why do lvl 30's have 5-6k more health than I do. Also a side note, not all of those people are tanks, plenty of healers and just dps that are sitting at 28k on average. I'm not complaining, I'm just looking for answers, Thanks for the help.
  2. Great Ideas, honestly this would be perfect, re-hashing old planets. It would be problematic on pvp servers because it would encourage griefing, but I love the idea of content on on old planets.

    Please respond to this.
  4. I've been downloading PTR for 2 days now.... at 50kbs per sec... I tried removing my firewall, direct connection. I looked in preferences nothing seems to be impeding the download. At this rate, It will take more than a week to download the PTR. Can anyone help? Clearly this isn't a common issue, because nobody else is complaining about it, and I can't find anything on it at all.
  5. This thread is full of win so far.
  6. It would be a huge disappointment if it doesn't get implemented soon; it is something you expect- especially with all the mimicking they did of the other mainstream games.
  7. I understand a lot of you play on heavy pop servers. I play on Jung Ma- Most of the time that I play I have to wait a very long time to get into a WZ. I usually get into a warzone before I get into a Flashpoint. Last night at about 2am CST I spent 1 hr in the que for a WZ, FP never popped, and I got really bored. The problem with this is that I can't always play during peak hours. There is a reason this is such a great feature in other games, it works! Now Bioware needs to start working harder to build the infrastructure to handle cross realm everything- In addition I would like to see the legacy bonuses work across all servers. At this point I don't care if this is going to affect the community. I want to be able to participate in a WZ or FP whenever I want, not just when the population is all awake. On a side note, the majority of WZ's that Join off hour have 2-3 less people than the cap, and that's always an issue, and is damaging my experience. Perhaps bioware is waiting for FTP, but even then it would be more appealing to new players if the ques pop right away.
  8. 6, it would be an 8.0 if they gave pvp a little more love.
  9. Listening to the player base and actually implementing what the players want are two very different things. But I agree that SWTOR has a lot of potential, and that they need to hire some competent people for PVP Development.
  10. And really the really looming issues that cost TOR over 600k+ subscribers are still well.... they are still here. I'm pretty baffled by this fact, but I'm not surprised- It's sad. PVP still a huge issue. Not only does PVP inherently have issues because of population (you know, the filtering system can only work with what it has), but it adopts the Warhammer style gear system. Well, other games have it too, but the jist of it is that here the brand new lvl 50 toon [-------------------------------------------------] Warhero, this is the gap, and they weren't smart enough to steal wow's version of how to deal with it, so they have their brilliant Warhammer pvp devs that are only implementing what they know and not what we need. WoW makes it incredibly easy to close the gap with max geared toons, because of how they are able to gear the season below the current seasons gear with Honor (Warzone) tokens. Also, even if you aren't near the gear most classes are still effective. The way it appears to work in this game is if you are a ranged dps class you can still be effective, healers and melee dps without survivability get stomped into the ground. Now here comes the real kicker. The free to play system is allowing players to play Warzones for a price. In what universe is someone who just hit lvl 50, especially if they have never been max geared before, going to want to pay to play more than what is given with the FTP option? How could the devs possibly concieve the notion that someone getting their chins kicked in over and over again are going to pay to have that done to them more? The system works pretty hard against people constantly losing. And people aren't going to want to subscribe or even pay ala cart to get owned. PVP needs to be rethinked, mainly the gap in gear and time invested vs skill. I understand this is an mmo, and people will waste their lives away to get advantages because that is the nature of MMO's progression. However, since this game is going FTP from a buisness stand point this needs to be addressed. Pvp needs to be about advancement, but not at the cost of a good experience for everyone. In WoW's battlegrounds after leaving the game for about 6 months, I was still a contender with the gear that I had. I was about 2 sets of gear away from max gear. In TOR 6 months ago I was 1 set away, and now I'm 3. I was given recruit gear even though I'm rank 65 valor. I feel like I just hit lvl 50 even though I was 50 back in Jan. I did about 10-12 warzones, and I averaged 50k damage as a Focus Jedi Guardian. I get more dps on my Powertech in at lvl 15, it's just so pathetic.
  11. Unfortunately, like all MMO's developers; they and only they think they have any idea what the consumer wants. Unfortunately, they have a very unfinished game (and I mean unfinished as in it should not of been released, until some fundamental things like UI, Camera angles, basic pvp balance were worked out). And something as epic as the post you linked would indeed be extremely fun, but they are light years behind in what they already "allegedly" delivered, and need to work on the basics, before they move on to something more advanced, and deep as the post you linked. Bottom line, bio-wares story line will never carry a game. It it too short lived, and the only story line that exists at the end game is the story line that the players create. And since they are given such limited tools in which to work with, that story line is also "capped" at a very low level. Creating a more sand box style pvp, and more worlds dedicated to pvp would provide more tools for players to create their own stories, but alas..... ToR is the biggest themepark game on the market. And again, going back to square one....very limited storyline.
  12. I do fine in Warzones. The problem with pvp in ALL mmo's is that not everyone on equal fighting grounds (with the exception of Planetside, which is superior to all forms of pvp in any game). So, not only do I have to mindlessly grind three warzones and fight endlessly in ilum like it is a Southshore tarren mill battle, but now I have to grind through a Hardmode dungeon to get my alloy. You know my gear trumps the hell out of anything I Can get from a hardmode. If I do not win that roll at the end of the dungeon, I just wasted my time. I dunno about you, but I like all my time to contribute to progression. At least with the mindless Warzone/ilum grinding, I'm always progressing somewhat. MMO's thrive on progression. I am not the most social-able person. I don't like to farm things endlessly until everyone has what they want. I want to fight in pvp with equal odds, so that the best strat, and skill wins. Not where gear and stims win. If I had it my way Stims/pots whatever you want to call them would not be allowed in pvp. It would solve the entire problem.
  13. Then make Rakata stims take different crafting material. I shouldn't have to PVE to make something I would use just in PVP. The problem is raiders use those stims too. It's a pve item just as much as a pvp item. With your argument the pvers are only pveing for those items. If that's the case they need to boost the incentive with out screwing over pvpers.
  14. I don't understand why Bio-ware thinks it's neccessary to force people to pve to pvp. This is something that WoW Steered away from, and any intelligent game design takes into consideration. I do not find it entertaining or fun in any way what so ever to run hardmodes. I find them boring, and a complete waste of time. The system in WoW allowed players to purchase mods, and crafting materials from pvp vendors for a token exchange. This function needs to be implemented. I do not want to waste my time tanking something with a bunch of pugs, just to lose a roll to them. This is another time sink that bio-ware has implemented to force people to play different elements of their game. Just like the random gear system they are modifying with additional tokens, and making the game more consistent, they need to add crafting items to the pvp rewards. So make that happen, it should be a normal feature. Thanks.
