  1. I personally would not suggest using the Cartel Market for getting Items for you Characters. The majority of the Cartel Market is way over priced even when they put things on sale. I would suggest just using it for some Account Wide Unlocks and Character Perks at most. Like the account wide Cargo Bay Unlock and XP Bonuses in the Character Perks. Most everything else is just going to be a waste. Especially those Packs. You can get most of the items you may need or are looking for off the GTN. If you get the bare minimum of Cartel Coins for your Subscription Fee then you can gradually get a few perks each month or eventually save up a few months and get a Cargo Bay Unlock every once and a while. The Cargo Bay Unlocks are decent because if you get the Account Wide ones they will be there for all your current Characters and any Future Characters you make on your Account. If you add up all the Credits it takes to purchase the Cargo Bay slots in the game it adds up when you have Multiple Characters. The Cargo Bays and XP Perks are all I practically used my Cartel Coins that I have purchase through my Subscription for. I personally will not purchase anything else until they drastically lower the cost so that it does not cost me an arm and a leg. I just do not think that the game is currently worth more than the $15 a month Subscription Fee that we are able to pay for already.
  2. I kind of miss my Cybernetics in SWG. That was done pretty good there, even if some were a bit funny looking or weak.
  3. My downloads are usually pretty fast. For me it all depends on the Connection that I am using. When I am on the road many places I stay at do not have as good of a connection as I do here at my house. Personally I do not think a Torrent is needed.
  4. Nope.... I have not used it because I do not agree with having to pay for it with Cartel Coins. It should have been done in a way to allow us to use In-Game Credits. They are just looking for more and more ways to suck money from our pockets. I do not see any reason why I should feed that Beast. As much as I like the idea of having a feature that allows us to do these changes to our Characters and was something that I wanted in the game, BioWare just took the wrong route in implementing it. So I refuse to use there Nickel-And-Diming Kiosk. I will stick with making my characters and just choosing there Customization from the start and leave them as I originally make them. It is sad that something I wanted and was looking forward to, was turned to Crap right before my very eyes.
  5. SSSP is all I want to hear about. That is the only thing that interest me and may keep me from un-subbing.
  6. You actually mentioned the SSSP again. That is a Miracle. You all have been avoiding even saying it like it was the Plague. I all but gave up on it. In fact I was going to quit if the next patch was worthless. I tell you what. If you all mention more on this soon I may reconsider staying through the next patch even if it sucks. At least for like one more month if the news on the SSSP seems worth while. In fact you all better mention more on this and it better involve Free Roaming Space so we can get of the stupid Rail Shooter that you slapped us with from the get go. Anything less than Free Roaming Space will make me quit outright. Also... This better be some news that you all release on E3. I know that is demanding of me, but heck I am passionate about Star Wars and you can not have Star Wars without Space. To me that is the one thing this game is lacking bad. It would go a long way to make it worth playing. Why you all will not mention anything at all on it is beyond me. Just mentioning what it is would maybe bring people back to the game and keep some from leaving. You all should not be so tight lipped about such things. It does not hurt to mention what you are trying to do with the future of the game. Even if it just becomes to hard. If you are honest about about what is working out and what is not, it would go a along way than if you were quiet about things and just scrap them without saying anything leaving us hanging out there wondering. That sort of stuff is more upsetting. That is why you all should be more open. We are smart enough to understand even if you say that something was just not working out and you decided not to do it. We can understand that. Well at least most of us can. So please be more open and mention more on this stuff. We want to know about the plans for this game. We do not want to be left in the dark. So... I really hope you all are not blowing smoke on this. It would be damaging if you are.
  7. Actually the Number of Subs at the time that F2P was thought of being used was more than enough to continue to pay the staff and still release new content. Lets just use WOW as a point of reference here. Just because the numbers were nothing like WOW does not mean that the game did not make any profit or could fund itself. Think of it. Take the average $15 Subscription and multiple that by 1 Million. That is $15 Million Dollars. Even if it had got down to 500K that would be $7.5 Million Dollars. That is way more than enough to pay everone for the game and still keep it open and release content. The problem is that people, or in this case, Game Developers, think that they need numbers like WOW to make it worth while. That will never happen. The Subscription Numbers for WOW is like a Fluke of Nature that will more than likely never happen again for quite some time. WOW's Success it mainly do to there Marketing Tactics, which is proven. Heck they still Flood the Market with Commercials. You combine there Marketing with an easy and sort of fun game to play and Wala! There you have it. The Developers and Corporate Goonies of BioWare and EA and any other Game Company that thinks a Successful game is one that has numbers of WOW is just fooling themselves. So sorry to burst your bubble on this but the game could have and more than likely would have still been around even if they decided to not go with a F2P Market System. The funding from Subscriptions alone is more than capable of doing this. At the very least if they did shut it down it would have been do to there own stupidity.
  8. I guarantee that every patch ever released will include CM stuff. Why? ONE person could make enough to release a new CM pack every 8 weeks. That is probably how there Dev Teams are setup. One person for each part. It would make a lot of sense as to why the game is in the state that it is right now.
  9. You know as much as I hate to say that, that is how it feels. It is a waste of a vendor. The NPC is like a Bum on the side of the road trying to sale you a dead flower for a hundred dollars. Or in this case and Ugly Speeder for 2.5 Million Credits. he is a bad used car salesman if you as me. Anyways I hope they take the time to at load this vendor up with Item Content. Clothes, Armor, Weapons, Pets, More speeders, or something. I am not much to impressed with there Dye System but a few of those are more than likely what they will add to it at this moment in time. I just hope they add other things as well.
  10. I highly doubt that those players that say they have spent hundreds or thousands of dollars on the Cartel Market really have. To me it seems like they are just blowing smoke. But hey maybe they have and are either rich or just not right in the head. For me I have only paid my Subscription Fees. Out of the coins I have paid for through that I spent maybe 2000. That was for an Account wide Cargo Hold and a few Character Perk Unlocks (XP and Rocket Boots). That is it. I refuse to waste any of my money on the rest of the Fluff Content Crap until they lower the prices to something reasonable or I at least see something at a reasonable price. Which I have yet to see.
  11. Short answer to the OP. No, I do not feel like a valued customer anymore. Not after the direction they have taken this game.
  12. Even if that was the case, which I have doubts that they are telling us the truth, it would be like one (1) guy in the basement compared to a full team on the top floor. There goal right now is to make money and as much of it as they can. That is evident from there actions as of late. Sad but that is how I see it. I also guarantee that the next update (2.2) is going to have Cartel Market Crap as well. They just can not afford to miss out on the chance to take release more products that will have the chance to bring them more Money ($$$). They may say it won't now but it will. I guarantee it. And if they do by a miracle prove me wrong I will be glad to admit it. Sorry to say but I do not take what they say at Face Value. I prefer proof, especially after what they have done with this game so far.
  13. I would like that. I might actually pay for that one even though I think it should be free for Subscribers. Of course if it still 600 I would not pay for it. 600 is just to high of a cost for a Species. The Value just does not justify it. I am thinking of more like 100 Cartel Coin MAYBE and I would at least think about it, but with no guarantees. I think Species should be Free for Subs and a lower cost for F2P Players.
  14. It should give them Mange. LOL If you all do not know what that is google it and see.
  15. Maybe some other EA Subsidiary will be able to make a real Star Wars Space game now that they have the rights to it, because surely BioWare is not up to the task from what they have done here. They just have no clue and I do not think they have the skill to even achieve a good Star Wars Space Feature for this game. I hope one of there Employees take that criticism as harsh as I presented. Maybe it will make one of there employees think about Space and try to bring the subject up in the next meeting to try and prove me wrong. They let slip an idea of a SSSP yet they avoid the subject like the Plague and act like it never happened. It is like someone thought of an idea and mentioned it to the public before it got the go ahead and then they scrapped the idea before they could start it. now they just want it to go away. Well I am sorry but that will never go away. You mad your bed now you have to sleep in it.
  16. Sorry to derail this for a second, but since the subject of only Subs being able to post came up.... I have always wondered: How does BioWare and EA even know what the mass majority of F2P Players really think if they can not post here? Do they just rely on there gut feeling or just not care? Or do they just rely on the Twitter Replies or some other media site? It Boggles the Mind... Because if all they have is the input from the Subs then they really think that F2P Players like what they are doing; because they are pushing heavily on many of the things that many Subs are complaining about. For Example: The Cartel Market and its Nickel-&-Diming approach. They just seem to keep slapping us in the face. At least that is how a lot of us feel. Just saying. Again sorry to derail the thread on that.
  17. No Problem. It is sad that this vendor only has one item on it and that the item is a Speeder for 2.5 Million Credits. An Ugly one at that. At least it is ugly to me.
  18. Nope the VIP Vendor is directly across from the CE Vendor in the VIP Room. Two separate vendors.
  19. Will we ever see anything added to the VIP Vendor? All it has is that very expensive Speeder. They added Dyes to the Collectors Edition Vendor and Security Key Vendor but nothing for the VIP Vendor. Is that Vendor a Lost Cause or something? By the way if any Devs read this. I would like to see more than just Dyes added to this vendor please. Please make it worth while.
  20. It would have been better if you just cut up your Credit Card. F2P Cost More to play. Sure the value of Subscriptions is being lessened as well, but to do all that you were able to in a Subscription you will end up paying more in F2P. If you had an addiction to buying Dyes then you should just stop buying Dyes. Heck I only spent my Cartel Coins on some Cargo Holds and a few Character Perks. Everything else is just over priced. Well actually the Cargo Holds are over priced as well but it was a lot better than paying millions for all my Characters, Current and Present. Not like I was going to use my coins on anything else with there prices. Like Someone else Suggested you might as well Quit if you are tired of spending money. Unless of Course you feel like cutting down a lot of your actives in the game as well. I know that if this next Patch we get is Crap like the Rest I am going to cut my Subscription. I have only been playing like one or two days a week for the past month or so and heck I didn't play at all going on two weeks now. The direction of the game has just disappointed me more and more that I am loosing interest in the game.
  21. First time I have answer or posted in a Question of the Day Thread. Answer---- NONE Besides the fact that I would have preferred another Species be added first (like a Togruta), I am also sort of against the Direction this game is headed. Species should have stayed within the confines of Expansions or at the Very least set at a lot lower cost to the public. Subscribers should not have had to pay in order to use them as well. You should have just added restriction and such to them like you have with the Original Species in the game. Basically I'll post the idea I have mentioned before. For any new Species My opinion is this. Any New Species should be accessible to use by Subscription players without having to pay an Unlock Fee. You should have either made it playable First on only a few Classes and then Unlocked for other Classes once the Class Story ended ... OR ... Done like the Human Species and playable on all Classes and at the end of the Class Story they get a bonus to some ability. Basically like you have done for the Species already before it. For F2P Players they should Charged to Unlock it. You should also have a Charge to Unlock it Early. Just like we had with the Species Before. It is these little things that make a difference. That is how I would have done any New Species. Changing the way things were and charging us more for it is a bad move. You basically went back on your word and what you originally wrote that we would have for Subscriptions. That is what I have to say about this.
  22. Well there are a few problems with the Cartel Market that I can think of. The first main one is that it is overpriced for both F2P Players and Subscribers. Having things Overpriced will eventually hurt the game. Just look at the other F2P systems that were overpriced. Just sit aside your willing to pay for these things and fund the game for a second and desire to want the items, and then compare the Price of each item to the real world value. You can not deny that the Prices for most of the things in it are set to high. It is all well and good that people support the game but at what cost. All this is doing is feeding the beast and changing the market value of playing the game to make it more expensive. Not to mention that at this time the economy is bad for many countries and or trying to recover from issues. What happens when you feed the beast is that the more that people pay for these things the more that BioWare and EA will pull other things from the Subscriptions and common ways of releasing content and place them on the Cartel Market as well as the more any new thing will just go straight on the Cartel Market. Just look at how they added the new Species. They removed it from the normal way of releasing such Content through the addition of Expansions. Instead of being part of an Expansion that we have purchased it is now Sold Separately. So not only do we have to pay for Expansion and its content we have to pay for each additional feature that should have been in the Expansion but was removed. In a sense they are lessening the Value of Expansion and increasing the individual Value of each piece of content in the game. If that keeps up they will could essentially completely brake apart Expansions and removed the need for them completely and charge us for each peace of Content that was in them separately at an increased value. This is the Nickel-And-Diming that many of us are complaining about. This is a possible outcome of what they are doing. It would be alright if the value of each type of content they charge for was actually broken down to a decent value that makes sense and is not going to increase the cost above its common worth. So far that has not been the case in the opinions of many of us. The Price of the games Content has increased. None of these complaints that we have have anything to deal with the ability to sale the items that people purchase from the Cartel Market on the GTN. There is no issue with that. For me and many others that I know, the issue is with the Value of the Content and the way that BioWare and EA are trying to change the game from the Normal Ways that we have been use to for many many years. They are just trying to make it more expensive to play the game. They are also overlooking the other Issues with the game because they are more focused on the Cartel Market instead. We still have many bugs and some balance issues with the game that need to be fixed. A list of which I do not feel like listing do to its length. I do not want people to think that I am against having a Cartel Market. It is needed. But it is needed to be done in the right fashion and at the right values. They should not decrease the Value of the Subscriptions as well. If they lowered the Price of Content on the Cartel Market it would go a long way to improving things. They will still make way more Profit than they have been but the outcome will be that the game and the profit from it will last longer and possibly increase the profit as it could bring in more players on top of what we already have. If the game becomes to costly people will move on from it like other games that went this route. They should also not charge Subscriptions Extra for any Common game Feature that they normally had Access to in the past under the Subscription. For example the use of New Species and other Common Customization Features. It is alright to charge real currency for some of the more Fluff Customization Features but not all of it. For any new Species My opinion is this. They should be accessible to use by Subscription players without having to pay an Unlock Fee. They should have either made it playable First on only a few Classes and then Unlocked for other Classes once the Class Story ended ... OR ... Done like the Human Species and playable on all Classes and at the end of the Class Story they get a bonus to some ability. Basically Like they have done for the Species already before it. For F2P Players they should Charged to Unlock it. They should also have a Charge to Unlock it Early. Just like we had with the Species Before. It is these little things that make a difference. That is how I would have done any new Species. Changing the way things were and charging us more for it is a bad move. They basically went back on there word and what they originally wrote that we would have for Subscriptions. For the Designer Kiosk my opinion is this. They should have made it take both In-Game Credits and Cartel Coins. Just charge F2P Players an ability to unlock Access to it in two ways. Per Character and Per Account. Then for Subscribers they should have allowed the Subscribers Full Access to it. Then just have some Special Fluff Items Cartel Market Only and other Fluff Items a high In-Game Credit value and Cartel Coins for two ways of paying. Then for the Common Character Customization that we normally have during Character Creation cost In-Game Credits ONLY. That is how I would have set it up. Right now as it stands the entire thing is only usable with Cartel Coins. Basically they are changing for every little thing we can do with it. They originally said that Subscribers would have Full Access to ALL Character Customization Options. They have since Amended that to remove anything dealing with Customization Options and any new Species added to the Cartel Market. They basically Went back on the word and what they wrote here as well. Any ways I think that is a start to what is wrong with the Cartel Market and the direction that they are heading, that I can think of. I am sure people can add to that. Sure we will have neigh sayers that will try to say otherwise, but in my opinion and many others this is just some of the Issues and a possible outcome based on what we are seeing and experiencing since the addition of the Cartel Market. I am not going top presume to speak for Everyone, so view this as just My Opinion from what I and many others I know and those people I have seen in the communities have talked about and discussed on the various sites and communities including this one here in the forums. Sorry if I rambled on about this but I am passionate about this subject.
  23. Everything is Content really. It just depends on the type of Content. Basically... Item content such as new Armors and other Fluff Items is just one type of Content along side those that we consider as you say are "WarZones, Stories, and Flash Points". A game Feature like a Barber Shop is Content as well. Many think that Fluff Items are not Content but they are just overlooking the fact that Content is such a Broad Term. When I talk about Content I try to be a little more specific on the type of Content. But that is just me.
  24. I agree with pretty much all you say and feel here. But... Actually if you do the math it is 500 to 600 depending on your Subscription plan. Then if you have a Security Key that would be an extra 100 coins each month. Also if you have a Friend Referral that may still be Playing that would be another 100 coins each month. So it is really anywhere from 500 to 800 depending on all this. Most of the subscriptions are just a bear minimum though. 500 to 600. I doubt there are many Friend Referrals still running around if there ever were. But the amount of coins we get is beside the point here. Some will have to wait two months at most if they save the Coins they purchased through there Subscription. I think that we will pretty much not see any new species that we will not have to pay for separately outside of expansions and only in the cartel market, as much as I hate to say that. BioWare has really disappointed me here. All Species should be free to Subscribers to use, plus only added and purchased with Expansions like normally done. We should not have to pay extra separately for them. That is all I will say on that for now. I have voiced my opinion on this way to much already and I am tired of doing so right now as it does nothing but upset me. I'll leave it for another day.
  25. I got to this posting and just Laughed my Arse Off. The only real thing that SWTOR has in common with SWG is that it is based on Star Wars.
