  1. I fear that with the introduction of THE OUTlANDER as a main character, NPCs will stop calling you "wrath" or "Dark Lord" and just call out "Outlander" I pray the maker that doesn't happen.
  2. How do you feel about the Rishi bait-and-switch? Why do I call it that? Well in all promotional material and trailers for SoR the mainly show YAVIN 4 and the clash between Republic, Empire and Revanites... that is how the expansion was promoted in most trailers but for more than half of the expansion you end up: -Pretending to be a Pirate -Fighting petty gangs like the Nova Blades -Doing menial tasks for a tribe of birdmen and other irrelevant NPCs It just felt so... generic, I did enjoy the YAVIN 4 story, the coalition and everything I wish they would have cut RISHI and doubled the amount of Story you get on Yavin.
  3. Oh, I did not intend to suggest they add such feature in SWTOR, since they don't have "Perks" in the game, the way Fallout does.
  4. "Cherchez La Femme" unlocked female on female flirtation dialogue and "Confirmed Bachelor" unlocked male on male fliration, it was fun.
  5. Going back to fallout, anyone remembers the perks "Cherchez La Femme" and "Confirmed Bachelor"? Good times. I wished you got more opportunities to use those skills during dialogues.
  6. I liked it a lot more when each class was a small, but very important, part of the universe and each of them were doing their own thing.
  7. Luckily Bioware is a good company that has already been pretty open when it came to character sexuality way before internet outrage culture became popular. Devs have been adding same sex romances in their games for years because they felt it was right for their game and their audience, they didn't do it because someone decided to act like a jerk and being really nasty on their forums, that is kind of attitude is going to help nobody. EDIT: In fact I think many people in Bioware are even more passionate about it than gamers on the swtor forum, but I feel their hands have been tied when it came to swtor
  8. Why? Games are games, they're not tools for social reengineering, and it's sickening to suggest that they are or should be. I didn't think any different of women in general before or after I beat Mirror's Edge, One thing is to say it'd be cool to have a female character, but to say that we need them sounds kind of crazy and scary, need them for what exactly? Not to bring more women into gaming, because according to last year and this year market studies women are already half the gaming population. EDIT: Also, we're playing a game with 8 different female protagonists, and if you go to the fleet and look around, you'll see that gamers have no issue playing as a female protagonist.
  9. Devils advocate, I think it was Chip plus Robot suit, in the case of Carbonite, I think it was also meant to mask heat signature from the body...
  10. As far as I know the Sith Empire still reveres ancient sith like Ragnos, so if he vouched for Kun then it's understandable he gets praise.
  11. The sexual orientation of your character was not even relevant on Fallout 3 and it was player defined in New Vegas but there weren't even any romances like the ones Bioware makes. If they follow the same path, who your character likes to have sex with in Fallout 4 should not really be an issue to the story. Like I said before, it's a good idea for characters to be bisexual, so it's up to the players who they want to flirt with, and as far as I know that's how it was in previous Fallout games. The way I see Bathesda wanted to create a nice meld of character background and gameplay tutorial, like in Fallout 3 when your mom died in childbirth, and you have your dad, and you get to grow up with your character, in this case your character has a family, wife and kid during the tutorial... nobody said you won't be able to engage in homosexual relationships (once you get out of the vault) if that's something one wants to pursue in the next Fallout game. So no, I don't think Bathesda is stopping anyone from being gay ingame, and until I hear more information Im going to assume you'll be able to at least flirt with people of the same sex like in the previous installment. EDIT: My main character in swtor is gay, by the way, just putting it out there. I'm not looking to hate on anyone here.
  12. By this time the Sith Empire has been part of the greater galaxy for at least half a century, they probably accessed several historical records from all the planets they invaded. Not to mention that they have had spies on the senate, the jedi order and maker knows where for centuries even before they invaded, they probably fed them information.
  13. Sorry, It was not my intent to imply the contrary, however it seems to be the case some are upset a this type of family in particular. More options are better of course, but people shouldn't be angry at Bathesda.
  14. Uh... if Bathesda has been working on the Assassin's Creed franchise, this is the first I hear of it. As far as I know the Fallout and Elder Scroll franchises let you customize who you're going to play (including skin color) I don't know what's wrong with beign a "stubbly white dude", a good amount of game developers happen to be just that.
  15. Sure, maybe the character preferred a woman to settle down (or a man if you play as female) but my point still stands, they tried to create a character that starts out as a family man (then survives the apocalypse and lives to be 300 years old) and people really want to get upset at them for that? Also that doesn't mean you can't pursue gay romances in the game either, then again, we don't know if you can have any kind of meaningful romance in F4 to begin with, it never seemed to be their strong suit. We'll have to wait and see.
  16. It's unsettling that Bathesda can't even make a character that is some kind of family man because that would upset gay gamers. For all we know the character might be bisexual anyway, meaning that once you come out of Vault 111, you could pursue romance with anyone you want, if the game happens to have romance in the first place, I don't remember it being a big theme on Fallout 3. Anyway, I'm speculating.
  17. During the class stories some characters gain special abilities or qualities that are not used as "game abilities" but their effects are reflected in the story. An easy example is the Inquisitor: Force Walking: The ability to pacify and bind ghosts, this one is pretty well known by Inquisitor fans. Dream Walking: As part of the Dream Walkers, the Inquiitor learned a ritual that would heal his mind and prevent him from going insane from binding so many ghosts, but I doubt there is a reason he needs to use this ritual ever again. Whatever Ashaa (The Mother Machine) did to him: The inquisitor body was rebuilt in order to make it immune to the molecular decomposition that was suffering from all the power it was receiving from the ghosts, additionally, if the Inquisitor helped Ashaa she said that she could rebuild the Inquisitor without restrain, implying that it would make him more powerful, Horak-Mul showed approval of this idea. The link to Aloysius Kallig: The inquisitor has been aided by his ancestor, even saved, multiple times, since his ascencion to Lord of the Sith, they have not communicated, but it could happen again in the future. In the case of the Agent the best I can think of is: The Castellan Restraints: The special brainwashing technique delivered via IX Serum, the Agent used it instead to free himself, altering his brain chemestry and rendering himself free of any other future brainwashing or mind control attemps on him, this is noted by SCORPIO, who tries to drug the agent and his team making them go mad, but the Agent is completely unaffected. Additionally the Agent could have programmed himself to push his body beyond any limits. Watcher X chip: Watcher X installed a chip which allowed him to communicate with the Agent and help him, even after Watcher X died, this was the ace in the hole that allowed the agent to free himself from brainwashing, for all we know the Agent still has the chip and Watcher X could manifest himself again in the future, should the agent need his help. These are the ones I can think of at the moment, if you know of any others please bring them up and do you think any of these "Powers" could play a role in Knights of the Fallen Empire?
  18. Not necessarily a Versus thread but what do you think of Wrath beign compared to Exar Kun? When he was still an apprentice and he was on his way to Dromund Kass I believe he was refered to as "The second coming of Exar Kun" now this is not praise to throw around lightly, considering that Kun posses "unparalleled prowess in saber combat" according to the Jedi Archive records as narrated by Master Gnost Dural.
  19. As far as I know Obsidian was just trying to do their own thing, they're not big Star Wars fans, so they introduced a lot of philosophical concepts that we've seen them use in other games, such as Planescape Torment, or Mask of the Betrayer. As far as I know, the Sith Code was not even brought up in Kotor 2
  20. The problem with making a Chapter exclusive to a class is that for that same amount of work they could make 8 chapters for everyone. What could be interesting is having: An Imperial-Exclusive Chapter (SI, SW, Agent, BH) Republic-Exclusive Chapter (JK, JC, Smuggler, Trooper) A Force User-Exclusive Chapter (JK, JC, SI, SW) where you explore themes more related to the Force. A Non-Force User Exclusive Chapter (Smugger, Trooper, BH, Agent) more related to military objectives. While those chapter are kind of exclusive, they can still be enjoyed by half the classes in the game.
  21. No, don't expect all your old companions to come back, you'll be setting yourself up for disappointment. I think it's pretty obvious what Bioware is doing, they've realized that they can't continue the story of all 40 companions in any meaningful way because it's just too much, so they have two options: 1) Make companions completely silent and irrelevant to the story (which is what they have been doing in RotHC and SoR, one of the most glaring examples was Darth Scourge) 2) Get rid all the companions and and introduce new universal companions(Lana, Koth and HK-55 maybe) shared across all clases, create a single story for everyone (The Outlander) and carry on that way. Maybe bring in some of the all time fan favorite companions as universal companions (Vette, Mako, etc) but don't expect all 40 companions to come back.
  22. I thought about this http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=823288
  23. You said that apprentices are supposed to duel their master, to ensure the strongest Sith prevails. And Palpatine ended up pouring some wine for Plagueis and then killim him in his sleep, there was no duel, most likely because if he attacked his master, there was a pretty good chance he would have been killed. Which is pretty much the theme with Palpatine, it was all about political manipulation, and subverting the senate, I prefer the direct approach of the Sith Empire, conquer the galaxy with force of arms, at least it makes a great theme for a video game, that's for sure.
