  1. Wait. I thought reasonable well thought out posts were not allowed on this forum !
  2. I've run that class quest as both a sage and a shadow - without the "buff" from the stations on the wall it is virtually impossible to complete - the buff does matter and the mobs are tuned accordingly (although I admit i have not run this quest for several months). I always run with Theron for heals. You have to be sure to get the "buff" from the station on the walls. Carefully attack each mob group making sure not to aggro other mobs. Use your 60 "stun" before you attack in stealth (Mind mez or something like that for shadow) to remove one of the elites. Carefully fight the active mob without using any AOE attacks which will aggro the stunned elite. Lastly, use your interrupts. You cannot make it through the fight without them. Most fights you can get thought without interrupts, but this quest you have to use them.
  3. I leveled a new toon on a new server (no legacy perks to start - and no class buffs other than the class i was leveling) from 1 to 60 and the /played command displays 3 days, 6 hours , 24 minutes - or about 78 hours of game play time. I used minor and major experience buffs and added the legacy perks for class xp, exploration xp, and flashpoint xp as the legacy level requirement was met and i could afford the credits (first toon on this legacy so i didn't have a lot of money). I ran all quests on each planet (class, world, and side quests) but did not run flash-points nor heroic quests (other than the 2+ man versions on occasion). Once i hit about level 49 i went to makeb and leveled there running all quests and the daily's. If i didn't make it to level 55 i went back and finished the class quest only on corriella until the conclusion of the class story arc. From there i just ran daily's on mekeb, section X, etc. until i hit level 55. Once at level 55 i ran the prelude to revan, and then the revan expansion. EDIT: I also spacebar'd through most dialogs (like wear out my space bar speed).
  4. I also seem to recall you have to have finished your class story arc.
  5. I noticed this as well yesterday. My Marauder got messed up by the champions in the heroic 2 area very quickly (watchman mirror which is annihilation i believe). I was doing nice damage in my opinion but taking massive damage as well - healer companion couldn't keep up. Both myself and my companion were in all 172's. I had about 30k health but noticed about 5k to 10k dmg to me quit frequently - i was watching the health bar drop repeatedly in big chunks. Conclusion, damage output is good - damage mitigation seems weaker. I'm going to try it again with a tank companion geared at the same level and see what happens sometime this week.
  6. This is really true - everyone eventually ends up with the same spec (or pretty close to the same spec) that does the most DPS by sharing information about specs on the forums and other sources on the internet. The result is everyone ends up being pretty much the same. Don't know if I'll like the new system or not - just saying.
  7. Just curious - Dulfy, do you ever sleep? Thanks for the early info. - I always rely on your guides to "fill in the blanks" of how things work ! Thanks.
  8. I don't now whether the rumors of a SWTOR2 are true or not - but i look at this way: This was BW's first MMO. Whether they implemented it well or poorly, in either case they have gained a lot of experience that can be applied to another MMO whatever it might be - it stands to reason that the next MMO would be better than the last in terms of implementation (they have the benefit of 3 years of seeing what worked and didn't work as well as feed back from the community). Disney has committed to not only the third trilogy (episodes 7,8, and 9) but also more movies later. I personally would be surprised if they didn't create another MMO at some point in the future - for example announce after the first movie and take advantage of all the hype of the new trilogy. You can debate who will do it - but i would speculate it is a fairly safe bet that another Star Wars MMO will happen at some point.
  9. If they added 12x XP for class stories as a cartel purchase permanent option, i think it should be only for leveling through chapter 1 or possibly chapter 2. At that point, it reverts to normally xp and leveling. The reasoning being that for the last chapter, it gives someone enough play experience to learn the skills for the class (which are mostly available at that point) and to begin focusing on gearing so that by the time they hit level 50 they should be be good to go if they are smart. Further, a requirement should be at least 1 toon leveled to max level for each faction. That way all content would be exposed to the player (i.e., planet story quests) yet it would eliminate a majority of repeating the same content for every toon created which does get boring and to be honest pretty much every one space bars through anyway because they have already experienced it. This way leveling mostly on class stores makes creating a new toon interesting. I've found that leveling a toon only on class quests gives the story a more consistent flow - and more enjoyable (no more bouncing between stories, 2 week break, then trying to remember what happened).
  10. Isn't that a river in Africa or something.
  11. Hi John... I'm sorry to hear you have an "alt" problem - that is very sad. I wish i could relate to your problem but i can't since i don't have an "alt" problem. You see, I only have 16 alts with only 2 under level 50. If i had say, 17 or 18 "alts", then maybe I "might" relate to your problem - maybe you could say i have a problem then. I wish you luck and i think the heavens that i'm not walking your shoes - tough road ahead.
  12. Warrior: 8 or 9 Pretty good consistent story throughout all chapters. The Transition between chapters was pretty good. Knight: 8 Same reason as warrior. Inquisitor: 8 Story was pretty good overall. Chapters tied together pretty good. Consular: 5 Chapter 1 was good, chapter 2 felt like they couldn't think of a story so they just threw in do a bunch of missions for people. Chapter 3 was good but i couldn't see the connection to chapter 1 or 2. It was like 2 different stories were bookends for a chapter that didn't have a story. Bounty Hunter: 6 Same as consular for me. I didn't think it was a well thought out story across all chapters. Tropper: 7 Was alright, can't really say that i was experiencing the same story across chapters but its been a while since i built a trooper. Agent: 9 Very good story across all chapters, transitions from chapter to chapter was good. Smuggler: 7 The 2nd and 3rd chapters were pretty good. Chapter 1 was good but transition to chapter 2 felt like a completely different story.
  13. You've made the same point below multiple times - repeating it doesn't make it more clear. What everyone keeps saying is that it is clearly not working because you keep getting kicked from the group. Definition of insanity: "keep doing the same thing over and over again an expecting a different outcome !!".
  14. I agree, the SSD's are the future. I went with the fusion drive because it was a good compromise - about 60 to 80% of the performance increase of the SSD's without the SSD. It was a cheaper option and i still am not ready to make the jump to the SSD's yet - when they have a history for reliability i'll have more confidence. P.S. I'm a software developer also - although i'm trying to get out of it , been doing it for over 25 years and need a change...lol.
