  1. Good thread, and thanks for posting. One thing jumps out though - in PvP Tanks should ALWAYS guard the healer. Always. A (good) tank/guarded healer combo guarding a node is practically invulnerable unless against 3-4 opponents. Also, there is more cheating than you admit.
  2. Ah it's not too bad - we still have the main core, and I think that a lot of people are just on summer hiatus ... right? ... guys?
  3. What server are you on? MY guild on Tomb of Feedom Nadd is getting depleted and we'd welcome a fresh 55 with impetus to raid etc...
  4. Quesh Huttball - always have it on the ball spawn point. Your team scores? Phase walk to get ball. Their team scores? Phase walk to get ball.
  5. Same system they had in CoH and it worked just fine - although you also had /ledgesit for sitting on ledges, obv - and /wallean ... for, well, leaning against walls. But I'm intrigued - are there 2 /chair emotes? he seems to strike different poses.
  6. Thanks Dulfy - nice work. Anyone heard Alec_fortesque's thoughts on the Kreia set? I assume it's what he's been looking for....
  7. Member 550342 signing in - created this account before launch, only participated in the last 'stress test' (trial, really) beta. Bought the game a few days after launch and still here.
  8. I want to create a guild called 'Ministry of Silly Walkers' now:D
  9. Lucky me - I opened one pack and got one. There's three or so on ToFN on the GTN, so assuming some people kept theirs they can't be as rare as rancors or walkers. I'll be selling mine when the timer wears off.
  10. I won the CC contest (for which I am very grateful). Someone else got the credits, and good luck to 'em
  11. #1 I'd use it to gift things to lowbie players during my annual Life Day Giveaway. Each year I craft starter sets of gear and crystals and give them out to whoever wants them on the starter planets. I'm planning to add a few mounts this year : ) #2 The raiders dropped from the sky just before dawn. Cutting main engines as they broke into the atmosphere, the ships' announced their arrival with the glow of a sub-orbital barrage. On the ground, night became day far too soon. By the time the suns had arisen it was mostly over. The village was burning, and the few isolated cracks of laser fire gave testament to the speed of the battle, if you could call it that. Loot was taken, slaves gathered up and a few trophies arranged on the desert sands, just to show the authorities who was boss. The clan didn't have to point their afterburners at what was left of the settlement as they ascended skywards, but they did anyway. They were just those sort of guys. The wheels of justice grind slow on Tatooine, and it was days before a posse arrived. Among the collection of rusting militia droids, sand scouts and dusty marshals, was the Assayer of Insurance - the Hutts' representative in matters of lost commerce - and an outlander who'd come along for the security such an escort would provide in the deep desert. Being a fellow offworlder, the Assayer had struck up a friendship with the traveller, who seemed to be a man of culture. "Barbarians, these raiders", the Assayer said. "Just kill, kill, kill, loot and burn, then sell their captives into slavery. "They leave little behind but burnt bones and some artfully arranged corpses, just to tick us off." "Such a waste. These moisture farmers provide valuable revenue for my organisation, and that's without taking the set-up costs into consideration." His companion grunted from within the cowl of his robe, drawn up to ward off the stinging wind. "I'm sure the Hutts protect themselves against such eventualities," he said. The Assayer nodded. "Well, of course. But there's the long-term investment to consider." He paused, looking at the road ahead. "Ah, here we are." Before them lay the smouldering ruins of the village, a fractured jumble of broken habitation units, vapour collectors and burned out machinery. The Assayer was just about to nudge his Dewback forwards into the wreckage, but one of the scout droids came skawking to life. "Statement," it squeeked. "Life sign detected nearby. Query: Could there be a survivor?" They found her hunkered down inside the blasted remains of what must have been her family's home. She had lived for days on droplets of water leaking from a shattered vapourator, and dried up meat that looked suspiciously like wamprat. No one could say how she had escaped the raiders' clutches. A four-year-old girl was not supposed to do such things. "Amazing," exclaimed the Assayer. "We've never come across a survivor from one of these raids before. And one so young! I suppose she belongs to the Hutts now. Her habitation manifest said she had parents and a sister, but they all surely perished. How could she have made it so long?" His companion drew back his hood and looked at the child, then rested his hand on her head. With a start the Assayer realised that despite their time together, he had never had a clear look at the man's face. He appeared to be in his mid fifties, grey of hair and with a beard more closer to white. But what struck the Assayer most of all was his eyes, which seemed to radiate wisdom and kindness - qualities not often seen on Tatooine. The man spoke: "She survived because the Force was with her. And she belongs to the Jedi now." (you did say backstory) Epilogue: Deep in the Dune Sea, Raidmaster Noddrog Muhurg paced along the line of captives, explaining each wretched soul's positive qualities to his companion Saul Klinesman, the Hutts' representative in matters of collateral collections. "This one should make a good dancer," he said, indicating a young farmer's wife. "And this fellow will make excellent fodder for the Huttball pits on Quesh," he added, waving his hand at a youth barely into his teens. "And this ...." Noddrog paused. He glanced at the next captive in line. Then he turned to his men, who were busy loading booty onto a transport ship. "What in Tulak's name is this?," he thundered, pointing at the diminutive prisoner. "I said no children! Who took this snivelling little rat? Answer me!" His soldiers shuffled nervously, glancing at one another. Finally Gruntfunckle, the Gammorean, cleared his throat. "Please, master Noddrog. It was me," he said. "You says that the Hutts pays well for twins, and her Hab manifest said there was two of 'em." Noddrog wiped a hand across his sweating brow, trying to calm down his rage. "That they do, me hearty," he said, with icy calm. "But they only pays for twins when you actually capture both of them!" he added, his temper snapping. Klinesman, who had watched this exchange with detached amusement, shielded his eyes as Noddrog drew his blaster. The girl was simply empty ballast, he reasoned, making no move to stop the raid leader. There was a sudden blast of light. Klinesman lowered his hands, and looked at the charred remains before him. Then he cast his eyes back to the girl, and the flickers of lightning still swirling from her fingertips. He was struck by her eyes, and the cold fury with which they regarded him. He took a step back, over the smoking ruin that had once been Noddrog Muhurg, and beckoned to Gruntfunckle. "Mark this one for the Sith," he said.
  12. Europe gets the shaft again. 12 midnight here and we've had quick travel, 2 GSF ships and a character unlock. Can we get one for our timezone next time plz?
  13. 33 mins now .. the sweats begin .. do you click .. do you? It's never going to b this cheap again....
  14. I got rid of Humbling Strike. 3 secs of slow seems a good idea but I found it made little practical difference in PvP.
  15. This is what I love about this forum - as soon as you post something the Conservatives come along to say its not needed. What you've said still doesn't take into account the fact that spinning strike's utility has been nerfed by simple inflation - it doesn't hit as hard as it used to.
  16. They're good once they come out from under cover. You just have to know how to play with them.
  17. Spinning Strike needs a damage buff. It's supposed to be out execute ability and only triggers if the target has gone below 30%, but as gear had improved its stayed still meaning that that it's now hitting for the same damage on a target that has more health. I find it rarely executes these days and you need to get two off to finish the job. Which is almost impossible given the amount of stuns and heals in game.
  18. Occasionally it changes to a sudden, single blow. Not sure why. Happens very rarely.
  19. And as foretold, so it has come to pass. For the record, I did miscount - it's 5/36/5. So why does the other two builds hold an advantage in PvP? I used this one and it was here I noticed extra damage - although not extensively tested.
  20. Thanks Inox - I assumed those links were out of date (they were when I stopped looking at the forums) but there was an update so good to go. For the record I went with 5/33/5. Noticed a significant increase in damage. I suppose someone will be along soon to tell me that's wrong
  21. Yay! good ending to a sad tale. What belt was it, btw? I can't think of one that's prohibitively expensive. Maybe on of the rare gear set ones?
  22. 114 views and no-one ... I mean no-one has any idea how to build this tree? I find your lack of expertise ... disturbing.
