  1. Well the other mmo put in the one hour wait for money from sales to allow the system time to check and if nessecary flag and let a GM check the sale as part of their measures against Gold selling. The gold sellers were using the AH to transfer the gold they were they selling to the customers. I'd imagine that the no plausible reason Bioware have the delay is a similar reason.
  2. Oh dear god! Someone who hates mmo's has decided this game is going to fizzle out after they reached level 14! Abandon ship! Consular's and their hats to the escape pods first!
  3. Download skype, use the toll-free rate customer service number. Free call and no charge for a program!
  4. True, hopefully though things will settle down and we will more constructive (positive and negative) feedback and less of the whining and trolling (positive and negative).
  5. A game's sales drop after the initial "launch surge"? Preposterous! More than what would normally be expected at the end of the 1st month? With a source to back up any figures please
  6. Sigh, go and really read the faq I linked earlier and how the site displays the data. The average server "population" category that Bioware show on the status page has dropped. Whether that means actual activity has dropped by 50% is not known. The activity has dropped by a significant amount most likely I'm not denying that. But I don't think it's as bad as you're making it out to be.
  7. Not really no. While a useful site the fact it's just based on what Bioware classify the server load as along with the timing and the fact that any mmo's subscriptions always drop at the end of the free month mean that the interpretation you give to it is flawed. Activity does seem to be dropping, but whether that's an expected amount due to end of holidays and the first month drop off or something more remains to be seen. It would probably be better to interpret the trend after 3-6 months and see what the population levels would suggest then. Of course I'm sure you'll consider my view a fanboy blindly defending a "failing" game which is your perogative.

  9. All the ones they've patched for starters? Don't get me wrong, I'm having a blast playing this game and don't see myself quitting anytime soon. But denying the fact this game has bugs and flaws is just as harmful as the doomsayers and whiners who declare it a failure, that it's going to crash and burn and EA's going down because one financial analyst after a casual check of opinions on the game dropped his estimate on EA Stocks. It does have bugs, it does have things missing that could do with being added but I have confidence Bioware will keep working on patching the bugs and adding more to the game. Both extremes of opinion don't help the game and just harm the forum community. Honest constructive reports of the games bugs and discussion about what we do and do not enjoy in the game will help it a lot more.
  10. It looks like getting a mount sooner is part of the legacy system plans, I don't see why they couldn't do the same for sprint. http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/719852/swtor-legacy-system-guide-details-rewards-and-benefits-for-star-wars-the-old-republics-family-tree/
  11. Care to back that up with a source for your statement?
  12. Expressing that unhappiness with the product is fine, in fact if it's done constructively it's great. It's useful and can help improve the game others are happily enjoying. When it's just a whine that everything sucks because it's not x, accompanied by name-calling such as "fanboys" just because someone has a differing opinion or insulting peoples intelligence because they enjoy the game.. then it's not fine. Of course that also works the other way around.
  13. Only if you delight in seeing the negative side of anything related to the game and Bioware because the game wasn't how you wanted.
  14. If that was the main focus of this I suspect they would have offered something that was more of an incentive, I doubt many who left weeks or a month ago will resubscribe just for an ingame title.
  15. Sure, the same way you could call a lemon an apple if you wanted to
  16. None of which were for emergency maintenance of patching of a few hours no matter what the time. Game time was only credited for major periods of server instability or downtime.
  17. Except even more would have taken it as a sign that they were "desperate" and the game was "failing" and used it to continue their rants. That and I doubt the people who went through the effort and time to be able to either make or buy a purple crystal from the GTN would have been to happy.
  18. At a guess because it was ready to be announced today? Sure the timing is far from perfect, but I don't see how this title will encourage people to resubscribe if Bioware are as desperate as some people believe. Yes it might well persuade a very very few who were debating to continue for another month but if Bioware were really as desperate as the doomsayers claim then they'd want to convince more than that very small number.
  19. No, it means they'll investigate and take what they deem to appropriate action. Whether or not that action will be enough to satisfy players and involve the removal of valor gains remains to be seen.
  20. So's this according to people in this thread But I see your point, some people could believe that it's a desperate attempt trying to hide what it is by offering something that won't really encourage anyone to subscribe for another month... Yeah, don't think "don't want to be obvious" is a very convincing argument that this is a desperate attempt
  21. Not really. All it shows is that they want to reward players who bought the game at launch and choose to subscribe past the 30 days that came with the box. Anything is speculation and opinion. An ingame title is hardly an incentive or freebie that will encourage many to renew their subscription though so if that was the route they were taking would they not have gone for something more substantial and attractive?
  22. You mean the truth that we don't really know what percentage of accounts won't be renewing their subscription into the first month? Well we knew that already despite people claiming that a minority posting on the forums meant a massive number of players were quitting. Sure some will quit, it's inevitable as some won't like the way the game turned out and others will feel the bugs etc are to much to justify the subscription at the moment. But the "masses"? Care to show the source for that truth?
  23. I'm not spending my money on another month so I can get a blue title, I'm spending my money on another month because I'm enjoying the game. Sure it's not perfect but it's still fun. I'll admit parts of the recent patch didn't work as well as we'd have liked (and I'm sure Bioware have a similar opinion) but I'm not sure how you can judge that they're not "working on the game" when they've been releasing a steady flow of patches to address issues and bugs.
  24. Maybe you should have checked if it was true or not before calling him out about and ranting on the forums? Although I'm sure an apology for the accusation would be a nice gesture.
