  1. Eula's are generally written by lawers that costs per hour about 6 months of your salary and in the end it's designed for FULLY protecting the game from virtually any harm , not YOU, in every possible aspect. Simply put, it seals the game from being legaly attacked by any means.
  2. Yes, I do qq a lot and I am negative, it's true. I also post about positive things etc. nor I am trying to find an excuse. And perhaps there are indeed 1% of the player base doing it. It doesn't say anything and perhaps nothing bad will happen. But from my own experience, being negative or positive about a game, helped me to develop my own philosophy: In every game, but I mean EVERY game, the first month after it's release (perhaps 2 if the "fan" base it's tollerant which doesn't happen often nowdays) it's critical to it's success. I have seen games that promised a lot and remained successful, games that promised a lot an failed badly, games that were bad and turned good and games that were bad and ended badly. The morale is: Being negative or positive, doesn't do any good or bad to the game. Facts will speak for themselves: If SWTOR it's a bad game you will start seeing that in some form within 3 months (there is when generally servers will die/decrease population in every game), if it turns to be sucessful, you will see more and more news about the game, sites will even promote it and such things will happen. Give it 3 months I'd say and let the facts speak for themselves. And let me tell you something in the end. If you look carefuly at the general issue, a game is not killed by qq-ers, but by the REAL players. When this category realize that the <enter random game> cannot evolve they will mass drop it, game over, if they feel it has the potential, the game will survive, game ON. ^^
  3. True, it's not about EULA or anything, but in 99% of the cases if you agree to buy an digital product which is based on a serial number, or a CD/DVD and break the cover the waranty is void. However, I have no proof of this, nor do I know someone who tried there is an valid argument in MMO gaming, so if we are only going to assume that: Unlike a normal FPS game where generally a CD-key is almost never banned by an administrator, in MMO world, it's easier to identify someone by it's cd-key because of the subscription that is bound to it (think your montly payments for example). I'm pretty sure, that if you "could" prove that your game has indeed misslead you and get an GM disable your account for obvious reason, OTHER than breaking the EULA (cheating/herrasing or anything that is forbitten) rules, you could in theory get the refund. This could be seen as Bioware agreeing with you and accepting a refound. But that is the worst case scenario, because IF such thing will happen, imagine how many people will try to abuse the system and get a refund. There are thousands of players who would cancel, such action can kill the game. But simply said, no, it sounds harsh I know, you just lost your money.
  4. SSD definitelly I'll make you a little movie about loading times now and post it later, then see for yourself. My system is: Asus P8Z68-V PRO i5 2500k stock 8gb DDR3 Ram Evga GTX 570 SC OCZ Agility 3 (RUnnin Windows) OCZ Vertex 3 (Running the games inclusive SWTOR) Then you can compare my loading times with yours.
  5. Exactly my point. I do understand what he was thinking, that maybe picking ppl that have high legacy ranks might be better, but not only that, having such insane damands after just, well almost 3 weeks, not only keeps the other 5 ppl in the raid waiting till he finds his loved ones, but also scarying ppl away. I know that if I want to go hardcore, I'll find myself an hardcore uild, however, atm the game is new and I want to play it in my rythm and my pace untill I think that I understand it enough or think that it deserves to go hd mode and spend hours and hours on it, but untill then, I'm just playing it in chill mode. I mean, imagine if 8/10 raids would require you this? How many ppl do you think there are an L12 now? I am sure, quite a few, but I bet not even 1/4 of a server. I find it sad that the general "must have over 9000" idea has found it's way to swtor.
  6. Like the title says atm I am just in *** mode. One of the most hated things in WoW, the all might Gear Score. I know the meaning of it and altough I was in a top 100 world guilds, I still feel it broke the game as it made an unfair difference between a casuals/hardcores or bad/good players. It did revealed how good your gear is, however it did not said anything about how much skill the person playing the character had. During my TOR leveling I made some friends and running into eachother trough some of the maps, doing some heroics, the legacy rank came up with thoughts like how much it will raise and of course why?! Now there were some interesing facts discussed between us... However, Today someone on my server was spamming for some good 30 minutes for some raids which I have already done and after a while I thought, ok, let me help him out, but to my surprise upon joining the raid I have been hit with my worst fear altogether: "What's your legacy level?!" "8 and 4 bars I say...why" (I know exactly where this was going) His reply was: "Too low, I want at least 12" ' Now I don't kow how high the legagy system goes and tbh I even have a few alts and never payed attention if it raises by turning in quests, but I know for sure it raises with the ammount of mobs you kill. Now this has already demotivated me a lot as I find this surreal, that now you have to comply with demands that are besically meaningless. I do agree with the fact the the one creating a raid can set his own rules in terms of accepting people into the raid, but this however, gives me a very unpleasent feeling about where the game is going. And if this raises, I can pretty much bet, that not even a full month after it's launch the casual game it's already ruined. Toughts anyone?!
  7. I am not sure it's related to any server. I know for sure your surname will apear on any alt that is on the SAME server as the character you picked your legacy name. But I am also sure that creating a main or an alt on a different server will not carry the legacy name, because it doesn't seem logical to have 2 bounded characters on different servers.
  8. Wrong, people that don't understand the game (or product) are wrong. A developer has "vision" of how a thing should be. He works on it and the expert (which is the player) gives his input. Based on that input, the developer gets all the info it needs toimprove or perfect the product. On a side note, this is YOU who is not seeing the point. It's because you think like that. Generally selfish people who on purpose refuse to admit error simply because of their own opinion. Remember my friend, if everything it would have been how we'd wanted to be, we'll all be millionaire's and kings, fortunately it is not like that:) You're not showing signs of improvement either with that statement. Instead of giving an argument like that, dare to ask that the problem is, instead blocking and keeping the problem from being fixed.
  9. An 2500k as more have said here it will be more than enough, however, if I'd had the money to buy that I'd wait till march when the new Ivy bridge will be out. With the money you'll pay now, in march you will easely outperform what you'd buy today.
  10. A lot of interesting points here, but unlike you I know how things are working on an mmo environment because I work with one. From an mmo company point of view there has been an old strategy, well mostly on "we make the game the way we want, they have to deal with it". To some extend, they are right to do it, but the problem isn't there, the problem is when they are going to add stuff the ppl are asking for. This is the main problem of an mmo, because implementing things that in the first case they weren't ment by the devs to be made, it means that in most cases they have to change the code costing the company more money. I see here posts like devs will never answer. Don't even expect that to happen, because in a company like this, there are hundreds of devs and this isn't the average 20 employees "Joe" company. Most of the dev stuff, is subject to company "strategy" development in order to keep the game attracting more players, if one speaks it will be fired, secondly if another one speaks, it means he has to speak about internal stuff that isn't supposed to be leaked which can cause major dmg to Bioware, in therms of decision making, because giving hints and speaking about them is speaking for everyone. It's simply clear that here we don't really have an "Ghostcrawler"... However, I have a 50 merc and a 32 sorc and for the moment I've seen the game. It is broken enough or at least more than what it should have been.I will give it more time as more ppl are expecting but not by playing the game. I will stop playing it after my subscribtion expires and come back over 6 months or so, perhaps. As many pointed and know well, it feels atm that they still focus on game visuals/looking than the game reponsiveness. GCD it's badly broken, macro's, addons, lot of ppl are crying about this, others say we don't need them, don't forget, that some stuff even if you don't want it, doesn't mean you "must enable it", go trough major runs and loding screens just to move from planet to planet, character not responding to players requests, ie casting a spell not aplying, canceling a spell counting the GCD, you name it. No this isn't a complain thread im just speaking about the facts. Am I pissed? No Dissapointed? yes, why? because we are speaking about the stuff that have been spoken a lot since the beta's, yet with every new beta released, NONE of the things reporded by the players have been fixed. Every beta release had new content available for download, but nothing contained stuff that was suposed to support playerbase feedback. Such game released in 2011 by such company, should have easely implemented stuff that exists in at least 5 other big MMO's names there. They should have simply compiled them all and by the game release it should have been in a state where only game bugs should have been fixed, yet the game is basically "bald". The game needs major improvements and they will come, but I will not stay here to suffer and cry like everyone else untill they will be fixed. I will be back when I hear that most of the stuff exists as it should have been from the beginning. I am not troying to be negative altough it sounds lol, yet I'm speaking about pure facts. The game definitelly has a huge potential and I like it, but it is limited to the point where it feel not much more than and SP with online chat support well at least on Imperial Fleet. All I am saying is this: when they will release the SDK, then we can all enjoy at least 70% of the full potential of the game, untill then I will enjoy the forums in the morning at my coffee filled with sad faces. Cheers!!!!
  11. I have one at 50 and as a merc you barelly use your guns. They are cool and do a lot of damage with their rockets but the down side is that you have to be careful how to play, shoot smart, don't stay still (yeah when shooting rockets thus choose your moments well) don't stay close to malee. I personally don't like it, because you have to somehow find a spot to deal dmn, and most of the times you get stunned, if that happends you insta get a lots of malee on you which takes you down really fast. I'm thinking on going on healing. I heard it's more fun.
  12. Well, in fact I did finish it mate, but that you can see already... I've learned to speak based on facts rather than acting like you.
  13. Altough it is known that the game heats up the videocards a bit more than other games... I have a question for you? Does your video card (nvidia mostly) starts to scream on Hoth? I never had any problems in Tatooine/Alderaan beta Curoscant etc, but tonight when I went into Hoth the fan begun screaming like hell. I though maybe something odd with my pc, went to the imperial fleet, it slowed down, went back to hoth, it goes nutz again. Odd is, the GPU doesn't go higher than 82% load, but the temps are insane. Does anyone else having issues? **Edit, EVGA 570 SC here.
  14. Does the motherboard holding that proc, supports sata 3?
  15. Unless you have no idea what u're talking about, which is the case because you just prove it: My full win 7 64bit (except dev framework updates) it's 27gb and my swtor is 19.4gb. Don't ever post if you don't know what u're talking about. To the question itself, yes you can have both on the same hdd, but as you can see there won't be much space left.
  16. Nice answer, close to it, in fact it's a bit more story to add: The servers are split into login servers, world servers (area you play). Where ppl are failing is that they think that there is only one server handling the operation. What in fact happends in the background, is that the world server (the one you are seeing on you que list) it's devided, in server clusters, which means, that the actual server consists from an number of servers. I know for SURE (don't ask me go into my work details pls *hint-hint*) WoW, can handle stable 22k users logged in, but generally there are about 7-9 world maps per cluster, and instances also have their own server. To summerize it in SWTOR, it should be like this: Loing Server. Live (let's say 30k connections accepted) Live Cluster (same server) split into: Cluster 1, 2 planets, CLuster 2, 3 planets and so on. It is impossible to run ONE server only because of the reasons stated by xworndownx, also what he forgot to add is that the server needs to calculate millions of actions per second, of every movement/change happening on the server.
  17. Fail m8. Bioshock 2 and you call yourself an "old school" player? I wouldn't dare to arque with you because I read enough. Start with Wolfenstein/Quake/Halflife/C&C/Starcraft series (which I bet you never touched any of them) and then I'll accept you in my old-school book.
  18. Read again m8, it's locked by authenticator. Without the authenticator's code there is nothing you can do. It generates an unique digit code that can be received only trough it. I had my broken in WoW too, the only way to deactivate the option was to confirm it with the same authenticator "unique" code.
  19. I would have answered you but since you ask for it I'm gonna give you another answer instead. Dont' ever start ************ about que times^^
  20. Well that is annoying indeed. My only complaint about it is that it doesn't remember the last search. If you somehow close the AH window everything it's reseted and that is really annoying.
  21. Does anyone here has a problem with taxi's bringing you to the wrong location? I will also make a movie about this and post it tomorrow but till then, the scenario is: In Alderaan for example, I am in Rhu Caenus Spaceport and want to travel taxi to Thul Palace taxi, those locations are just outside the spaceport. Now even if I am on the taxi map with the mouse cursor pointing to my destination, thus confirming Thul Palace, the taxi takes me all the way to the lower part of the map to the Panteer Hideout Thalanta. The exact same thing happends if I want to go from Thul Palace to House Thul taxi. It happened to me on other various occasions but this time I wanted to be more precise. Any thoughts?
  22. Positive 1--The design of the world map looks amazing. 2--Voice acting It's amazingly done. 3--Futuristic gameplay, exactly what I have expected. Negative 1--Definitelly questing travel time. Most of the quests consists in about 80% travel time. 2--Relating to point 1, traveling that much becomes extremely boring after 1-2 hours of play. 3--Bugs: Taxi's bringing me to the wrong location and mission objectives not showing on the map.
  23. I do not agree, and I don't think this is the point of what he means. During my game play I am quite often asked to help ppl as they cannot kill their own bosses. I even helped someone on Tatooine and on his boss, the guy holding the quest died and I was left at aboout 14 hp. We were shocked how hard it was. I play a BH and I have no problem, but on JC I have massive problems. They mostly kill me on different strategies, they simply are overtuned. Way too hard. One of the problem I noticed with them (perhaps a bug because I didn't noticed them self buffing in the end) is that when they are under 5% they simple stop receiving any damage. I had lots of situations when I was above 70%, boss under 5% and couldn't downed him, he continued damaging me till 20% before finally giving up. What I noticed is that they mostly seem to be OP to casters. I'm not saying they should be easy...but the point is that they are ho9lding us back...the point of class quests isn't to wipe 15 minutes on a boss...
