  1. Points for misreading haha! I never said I wanted Wow features. In case you didn't notice people (not including myself) do want Wow features here or they wouldn't have gotten them. I won't give it a rest thanks for the suggestion but it seems you are the one getting all butthurt about people suggesting anything from the game you hate as evident in your colorful spin on how swg fans are... "beloved" really? LOL whatever crumbles your cookie. Disagreeing is fine but when you add days of our lives fluff about SWG fans like you have then you are trying to incite something, obviously. The OP made a valid suggestion. But hey if you love rail shooters so much then good for you!
  2. I doubt it's totally pointless, it worked for the WoW fanboys. In Gen discussion though I think you're right, we need to spam the suggestion box^^ great idea, thanks:) A sw simulator with free roam space where you can grind gear as well and do ops? Budget or not it's a great idea.
  3. And people who don't want this game to have more (other than adding more wow features) are different? This has become nothing more than a SWG bash thread as evident by the posts above.
  4. No one exactly knows what the budget is for this game. Unless you work for EA which I doubt anyone here does. I don't want Tor to become Swg. The only ones that do are the people who "can't let go" (funny to use dating terms in a game discussion especially since no one ever said that to WoW fans who got what they wanted in here and are still getting more.) are the ones that want EVERY aspect of this game to change to swg and that is the real minority. I think most of the swg vets in here (myself included) just want certain features that made their experience in a SW game more fun, be it from swg or any sw game (just swg was a bit more flushed out/expansive). I sure as hell DON'T want this game to turn into buff-wars 2013 which was one aspect in swg that was really overdone despite the good reasons behind making those classes viable. I get it that "swg is gone just move on" as so many soapbox the metaphorical yet inaccurate view of swg fans. Just as many Swg fans are passionate about wanting that games elements in here, the nay-sayers are no different in my opinion. This IS a different game...and one that by forum posters requests, got many, many WoW elements added and on the coming soon list. So what's good for the goose....
  5. Totally agree with this. If EAware wanted to really cash in they would have a serious look at all the features from EVERY SW game that people enjoyed the most and try to implement them here. It would expand the scope of the game and the options available to the players. That is something no other mmo has even attempted, it seems they all go for a certain model and just stick that way, tossing in more linear features but never really doing anything different than other games in the theme/genre.
  6. Frequent full server wipes. You'd like to invest time in a toon only to lose it a few months later? Unlike most I am not a pre-cu person and the EMU is pre-cu. I preferred the cu here's why: The combat sucked. Find mob, que up attacks and macros, start fight, go eat a sandwich, read a book, go out with friends, go to work, sleep...come back to game and see you gained multiple skills in w/e tree you were going for and that rancor you were pounding on is now a pile of rancors that spawned and you killed. /yawn That's one of the things people hated about the CU is that you had to actually be there to get anything done, I loved it, most of the afk grinders hated it. If they had an EMU that was post CU/pre NGE that was STABLE. I'd jump on it. On the same token I always wonder why everyone who pushes for WoW stuff in here and hates on anything SWG...isn't playing WoW instead.
  7. Wow fans wanted swtor to be something it wasn't and got it (still getting it), so why not swg? I think every person against the implementation of swg elements in here are afraid if there's enough threads/posts on it, BW will do it....you know like the sorc nerf threads that sadly turned the class into a free kill in pvp.
  8. EQ2 is gone? LOL since when? Odd, both the servers I play on there show up active with Antonia Bayle being full right now and Nagafen 75% full. Seems to be working quite well. The only reason Swg isn't around is because of licensing, not because anything didn't work. The population wasn't as huge as WoW's but it wasn't as low as people imagine it was.
  9. The grind in this game is a total joke compared to others. Starter gear for FPs given to you once you hit 50 and easily gotten WH gear you can use in the normal HM FPs while you grind up comms for the others. Doesn't even take years only weeks or a couple months at the very most. I know people in other games who have it alot worse. Personally I thought the tion/colum/raka gear was substandard and could be a bit confusing to new 50s who don't know what gear goes for what FPs/Ops
  10. Indeed. Since this game takes a lot from WoW This feature would be cool or at the very least cross server.
  11. Well said. I had the thought that since there are bringing a new planet in the expac full of stuff that didn't take them what? a year? to get implemented...they could add a planet via that method (Lok, Dantooine etc) and allow player homes on it...perhaps guild cities since they already shelved guild capitol ships for the time being.
  12. I would like EA to answer that. I mean actually run the numbers (HAHAHA! yeah right) and do some community polls and testing to see if it's something they can work into here and turn enough $$ to make it worth their while. I would think it could easily make the profit over cost, especially tied to the CM. However, that's nothing without solid data. "How many who aren't currently subscribers will become subscribers solely because of, or in large part because of player housing?"--- this is solely dependent on their willingness to advertise it. I think if they put out some (excuse the swg pun here but you vets know this one lol) "iconic and star warsy" themed housing out there at first it would that may be a good start. I mean look at the crazyness over those thrones and the Revan mask or any of the themed rares on the CM. Something that makes people feel immersed or connected with star wars and their story. Of course this will take time to pull off but I seriously doubt it's as long as people would think.
  13. Same here. And I know a lot of people who would play this game if housing were here, especially if that could be tied into a crafting element also.
  14. Very good points:) I'd easily let go of pvp here to be able to drop a house on one of the planets or to be able to decorate my ship..it actually only feels like a taxi to me. Rift didn't/doesn't have half EAware's avail balance, so yes they could easily. Put furni and SW themed houses on the CM in packs like the throne mounts aside from a standard house vendor or crafted homes. Swg made a killing in their card game that had a sandcrawler house as one of many home loot cards. It's nothing but win-win for BW if they did this.
  15. Yes I agree. It is greatly missed by many as a feature. I have many ex-swg/rift/eq2/ffxi friends that would sub here if they had planets you could drop a house on..... or just remove those stupid exhaustion zones and allow players to have an area on the planets to have a player home on.
  16. Get real, "man-years"? LMAO really? Not with EAware's bank. Other games implemented it not in years so this company could as well. It's something a great many people want like the WoW barber shop coming which we also don't need. So you don't like the player housing idea, good for you!
  17. I'd pay double that for them to say yes then close the forums perm to kill trolls.
  18. Why should that be the ONLY way? Perhaps in your opinion. But why limit what the rest of us can enjoy just because you don't think an option should be here? I'll never understand that mindset..."I don't want peaches in my grocery store so NO ONE should have the option to buy peaches where I shop!" It's exactly the same deal as the debate on group finder and it didn't hurt the people who didn't want it in any way. I HATE mini games, hate em..pazaak? ***? needless and doesn't fit with my idea of SW in my opinion. However I would welcome it here..why? Because although it's not my cup of tea, it may be for others. More options = more players. No one can give a legit reason why it shouldn't be here...not a preference or opinion, a real, unbiased reason based on reasonable thought and objective logic. Wait lol now I know that's asking for far too much;)
  19. I know what SWG is, I played it through from JTL's launch through the NGE on Bria. Thanks. Yeah ok so what? Why not have an element from that game in here? We have group finder, a talent system and warzones from WoW (saw a thread asking for arena too) but somehow it makes sense to steal from every other mmo out there but heaven forbid from SWG! To say it's just because it was more of a sandbox than a themepark doesn't make any difference really...nothing would be lost from the current game to add housing. In the end it's all about giving the players more immersion and more options. To be against that for others just because certain players don't want the rest to have that option...imo is extremely stupid. BW could cash in on this feature via the CM in a huge way as well so it's not in any way a bad thing...unneeded? maybe but so are chat bubbles, mini games, vanity pets, reputation, and a whole host of other features.
  20. The ship is our home? Isn't that a bit more in line with star trek than star wars? (Thought I left STO, geez) I mean even yoda had a house. Come to think of it, most people in the SW universe had a non-spaceship dwelling. Spaceships being homes could be a smuggler/bh thing tied in with the story as Han Solo pretty much lived on the ship. But I'd like my other classes to have a house. I don't see why all the hate generated towards giving people more options. This reminds me of the group finder debate. I say bring player housing (note: fix the important junk first) and if you don't want a house...don't buy any. Seen posters in this thread who were frothing at the mouth for chat bubbles and mini games but against player housing?? right.
  21. I agree with this. That's what I did as well and am very happy with the results (Cept I went 850w on the psu in case I needed more for future upgrades and extra components) 650w will do you just fine. Get speccy (or sticker check) to see what voltage you need for the ram. But DEFINITELY up your PSU. Here's the 660 I got from newegg . Card runs cool and can handle every game I throw at it...and 2gigs:) 660 Card
  22. So Allison, how many exhaustion zones will Makeb have?
