Keep in mid that servers have to be set up and maintained in Europe, since EA is am American company they are getting the short end of the exchange rate when they are paying to have these systems set up and maintained. Seems to reason they are just passing the extra cost onto the customer

Based on this I don't think you understand what "fair" means. One of the pillars that our civilization is built on is FIRST COME-FIRST SERVED. It is in no way fair for the people that have been waiting the longest to be swept aside in favor of a random lottery. It is YOU who missed the point. The oldest rule of commerce is CAVEAT EMPTOR; Let the buyer beware. Whenever you buy anything it is the responsibility of the buyer to understand what they are purchasing and what are the terms of the bargain. That aside you are getting something for nothing. You aren't being charged for EGA; The five bucks comes out of your purchase price when you pick the game up. Only in America would people who are getting something for free complain about the way that it is given to them.
