  1. Thanks, I was definitely planning to looking at some guides. good to know a reliable source.
  2. I've been gone long enough where most of my characters have reset skill points so I don't even have a full skill bar to remind me how to play . But I'll take your advice and pick up one of my many characters. Are these new? As far as I recall the only one that could be run like that was the first group thing you do when you are leaving the starting planet. If so that would be a nice addition. So the ratio is 1/1/2 for HM FP then 8 man is 2/2/4 (maintaining the ration) then in 16 man the ration is 2/4/10 which either means there are too many healers in the other two flashpoints or not enough in the 16 man FPs Yeah, I actually enjoy both the tanking and healing roles I wouldn't queue for them if I'm not specced that way. It just seems I rolled a couple of DPS last time around and was thinking of playing them but I really enjoy doing dungeons while leveling and It was wicked hard to find a group as dps.
  3. Hey All, I played when the game first came out, then again about a year ago. I haven't played in at least 6 months. I have a range of characters on both sides from level 51 to level 18. I don't recall how to play *any* of them (incidentally I wish there was a training room where you could artificially down grade your character and re-learn how to do everything like when you were first leveling up). So, should I pick up one of my old characters or roll new? Also, is it still really hard to find a group in this game as DPS? Would I be better served rolling tank or heals? Any other advice?
  4. Back in wow my buddy and I were waiting for something (a mob to pop IIRC) and were doing various emotes (e.g. /sit /clap /cheer etc etc). He wasn't aware of the generic /em command and I put /em pees in Chya's mouth (his character's name was Chya). He spent 10 minutes trying to find the /peeinmouth emote.
  5. he used the /em command It doesn't really do anything but display what you write with you rname for instance, if you're characters name is Johnny then type: /em sits down will display: Johnny sits down in orange text.
  6. This is one of the few things I would gladly pay real money for.
  7. Honestly, the class quests themselves usually comprise of 3- 5 quests per planet. If you wait until you overlevel the content you can be done in an hour (or less). when you get to Nar Shada just point your character facing down and pull up the area map. You can move with the map up and it turns sort of translucent so you can only "kinda" see whats around there. Focus on running to the next location for your quest and you can pretty much avoid seeing anything.
  8. I'm mostly interested in the shared storage. Is it possible or do I need other players
  9. Everyone has different opinions on this. Personally, my view is that you should only roll need if something is a direct upgrade for the role you're playing. I've expanded this in SWTOR to include items you may have already won but who's components you can strip up to upgrade other modular gear. I think the game is just that much more enjoyable when everyone rolls need on gear they can use. I have, however, *asked* if it was ok with everyone if I needed on a piece of non-role gear for whatever reason. I do this after I verify everyone who can use it rolled greed so they don't actually need it.
  10. Actually star wars is basically the "Hero's Journey" almost to a T.
  11. I don't know about cross server queues but I know for a fact that it was arrogance that made them think they didn't need a group finder (non cross-server) in the first place. I know this for a fact because they basically said (and I'm only slightly paraphrasing here): "No, we don't need a group finder tool because this game is super special and any trouble you might be having getting together a group to do a flashpoint is transitory and most likely your own fault anyway"
  12. I think that's exactly his point. They don't let him get properly engaged.
  13. Hi All, I've been making a point of grabbing the missions for flashpoints before queueing for them, but I'm wondering if that's necessary or if I can just queue up and it will put me on the mission? Thanks, -Loudent
  14. Perhaps not on an individual basis but imagine if every dps person rolled a tank or a healer and queued up when they played. So you queue up with your tank and a couple DPS get a group, then they queue up with their tanks and more dps get fast queues. On an individual basis you can't necessarily make it better for yourself unless you stick to tanks or healers, but as a whole if more people queued as tanks or healers the queues would pop faster
  15. good to know thanks. I guess I'll be focusing on light or dark now.
  16. Back at release there was some discussion over future plans for grey. just as there are items for certain light side levels or dark side levels there would be items that require levels *under that* (e.g. items that require light 1 or lower AND dark 1 or lower) As I have a couple of characters that I'm bring through as grey I'm wondering if they ever got on that or am I hampering myself by going grey
  17. I keep getting a buttload of those mini-pets from my cartel packs (the shipment 1 crate thing). Is it worth to put on the GTN?
  18. Generally what kinds of things from the packs sell well? But you can only buy them as part of a 24 pack right? So that means you can't just pick one up from the market
  19. You know, it makes me wonder how those credit selling websites make any money. One could spend $10 on some virus ridden, cc# stealing foreign website for 100k or I could spend $3.20 on the SWTORT website for 300k
  20. are you better off selling the crate or opening them up and selling the items within?
  21. So I picked up the crate thing (or whatever it is called from shipment one) and opened up a couple of packs. There was some interesting stuff there but the worst are the neat items that take up inventory space Things like the eye glow and imperial banner (wth, got two of these things). They're neat but not neat enough to take up my valuable inventory space. Can't using them the first time just turn them into a power that I can use at will. Why do I have to keep the item on me (I mean, at least the imperial banner makes sense, but the eye glow item?)? -loudent
  22. I've been tanking/healing my way through the game since I rejoined a month or so ago. I've run dozens of instances (up through Maelstrom prison, my main I still only lvl37). I've never had a major problem as a tank (other than some enthusiastic players that like force push/wave/whatever my carefully clustered mobs). Sure sometimes they jump ahead but that's usually fine if they have the level/gear for it. I always let people know the first time I'm tanking a FP and I've received mostly positive responses if I pause before a boss and ask about strategies. As a healer though, We've had to vote-kick a tank once (was truly awful and non-communicative) and I dropped out of groups twice when I knew it was going to be a cluster.
