Why is there so little PVE gear in this game
Rephlexie replied to Samborino's topic in General Discussion
Here my question... Where is all the unique gear? Everything is part of some set. There was little to no effort put into Unique gear. There should be rare world drops that are unique and hard to find, the same goes for boss drops. Except for the 4 car models and Karagas Hat, there is NO unique gear at all. If you are not going to put in the time to make an unique object model, its icon and stats, then don't put in Champion Mobs. Just about every MMO I have ever played over the past decade has rare spawn Mobs that drop unique and interests items. None of that is in SWTOR which is really really sad. Give me a rare spawn burried back in a zone somewhere that has a .05% chance of dropping Ubeses goggles, a MMO such as this thrives on the details. -
Incoming changes to global cooldown UI Blog Discussion
Rephlexie replied to JovethGonzalez's topic in General Discussion
Really nice to see how quickly you guys respond to the playerbase. However, I will state that I am bit baffled at your direction with the UI. You have a huge consumer base coming from an age where addons have been standardized in this genre (Like it or not). Would it not make more sense to get the base UI as rock solid as possible then release a LUA-esque toolkit instead? This seems a bit too far into the aesthetic options realm than normal for a default UI. I am going to plead here so excuse the dramatics, but please I beg of you, get the UI to a functional state then unleash it on us developers open-source fashion. We will do things collectively that will knock your socks off. Not to mention we pay YOU a monthly fee to add functionality to your interface, just for the love of the game. Example: I'd code up a 2 pixel GDC sparkbar that runs across the top of the actionbar frame and revert abilities into their relative button countdowns. A more minimal approach that some people enjoy. I will quote Churchill here, "Give us the tools... and we shall... finish... the job!" -
A comprehensive list of SWTOR improvements that I feel are needed.

Great list! -
Please I beg of you add some Artifice schematics for us 50s to play with. Even just 23 rating ones. Give us some purpose in gearing out our guilds a bit.

Will Republic *ever* get Purple crystals?
Rephlexie replied to AJediKnight's topic in General Discussion
People say Light Blue becuase of the Bug that shows the Mod as LTBLUE instead of Cyan. Yet the crystal iteself is an Advanced Hawkeye Cyan Crystal in its name. -

Rephlexie replied to AJediKnight's topic in General Discussion
You CAN remove the Purple Crystal and put it into other things, but it is of course bound. The T2 PVE sabers are slotted so you can move things around. I havent had the nerve to try and RE my Cyan crystal yet. I am guessing it would be a bad idea. -
We just killed Bonethrasher and the second he fell we all got kicked off. >.> <.<

What are 3 things that iritate you the most ?
Rephlexie replied to Paskem's topic in General Discussion
1) No Addon development 2) Art direction for end game gear 3) Loot distribution system for Operations -
UI Customization is not enough, we need Addons.

You've jumped WAY ahead. The most memorable PVP experiences I have with PvP (DAOC, Anarchy Online, WoW, etc) was when there were NO gear based rewards, honor system or ranking involved. Simply put, when you put forth the option of choosing two different factions at character creation and present a reason for those factions to despise each other, chances are that they will do so and you find some reason to venture out and kill anything red under some misguided reason of prejudice. In Vanilla WoW, way before the honor system I would PvP into the wee hours of the morning defending some no-name outpost from hordes of... horde. I was not alone either, there were massive raids of us, moving the front line back and forth throughout the zone for hours on end. It was spectacular. Mind you, there were no benefits from doing so, no honor points, no titles, no gear, no xp bonus, nothing other than the natural desire to prevent the opposing faction from having what was "Ours"... and man was it fun. The problem with Ilum is that I don't feel that way. Bioware has not given me a reason to care about Ilum. There is nothing about the planet that makes me say "This is OURS!". No reward mechanic is going to change that, especially if it involves dailies, ranks or objectives. The aspect that is lost here is that a reward has been attached to PvP outside of basic faction loyalty, which is underdeveloped with PvP. The second you have equated PvP to rewards outside of comradeship it has failed. I agree with what you are saying, but in my opinion there is nothing that can fix Ilum, its a "chasing the dragon" scenario, where you have instil rule after rule after rule to get it even functional, all the while missing the real point of it in the process. You have to develop a PvP environment that doesnt involve rewards for people to... PVP first, before you introduce rewards!

I know that, what I meant was that I have a HARD time not being in a warzone with anything under six 50s on both sides. On Tuesdays when weeklies reset I often see full 50 groups with the regulars match after match. I am not on a PvP server, so perhaps its just the two rather large PvP guilds we have, but rarely have I seen lowbie warzones. My sever is high pop as well.

Hello everyone! 2 things: 1) The Level 400 vendor learned Artifice Advanced Crystals (Level 49) from what I have seen do not hit Mastercraft. I could be incredibly unlucky, but I am I think 0/36 right now. I have yet to see one in the GTN nor has our server famous Artificer had any luck with the crit either. In Beta these required BoP mats from HM FPs, perhaps they drop in ops. /shrug I have not tried with the Orange Crystal which starts at Blue, but I am guessing its the same thing. 2) Do NOT attempt to RE the Daily Commendation 23 Hilts sold in Ilum. You will get the "There is no information about this schematic etc etc" message. So save yourself the 8 daily commendations by not attempting that. 3) I have NOT seen any correlation with Companion message and RE crits. Actually, I have learned the next schematic most times after a NEGATIVE message. I am guessing that at level 50 they just do not have a VO message that corresponds to being at the end of the line. Lastly, a HUGEEEE shoutout to Morsexy for Critting on his Orange Saber. You have brought a smile to every Artificers face with that screenshot. Thank you!!!!!

I have a hard time believing that Queue times will increase considering that MOST of the warzone matches I have are usually comprised of Premades with minimum six 50s on each team.

They don't need to be downloaded. Various methods of tricking the engine have shown us that. Either through using the ship Holoterminal, previewing gear with companions instead of yourself, cutscenes, etc etc. The textures are there, you just do not have the ability to select them, as I guess falls into Bioware's philosophy about many other things regarding "choice" in a MMO.
