xordevoreaux
EA is currently advertising Premier Origin Access at $14.99 a month now, which is basically the cost of my SWTOR subscription, and the idea of being able to play more games for the same amount of money sounds tempting... ...but I won't do it because I'm convinced converting my direct sub from SWTOR to an Origin Access subscription will screw up my SWTOR subscription somehow, someway, and unscrewing it would be the death of me (if not my account). Noerra
Origin premium access does NOT give you sub for SWTOR. Just so you know. I wish it did.

Estelindis
It would actually be a good idea for EA to make Origin Access Premier include a SW:TOR subscription, but no monthly cartel coin grant like those who subscribe to SW:TOR normally would receive. It would give customers more flexibility in their subscription options, giving them the ability to swap the monthly CC for access to more games (as a SW:TOR sub and an Access Premier sub are essentially the same price per month). It could also open SW:TOR up to a lot of new players, particularly given how many new people have probably installed Origin due to the new Apex Legends game being very popular and Anthem releasing soon. Taurax
Actually, having it under the Origin Access would have the company lose money. As it is right now, you have to pay for both subscriptions to play SWTOR and the other games. You're proposal would have them lose that subscription. Yes, it would be a better deal for the games, but not the company. The current CC grant that comes with the sub, really doesnt mean much of anything to the company. Free coins, that really cant afford to pay for most things, that we have to save up for. If anything, we see those free coins and say "I'm missing on X by only a little coins, and I can just buy a few coins to get it." Taking away those free coins, we know we have to actually pay for it all, which in turn gives a little more negative feeling buying them. I cant see them including SWTOR in the Origin Premium ever, but it could someday i guess.

Yes, it would be a better deal for the games, but not the company. That's only assuming the same number would play and pay in both instances. But if there's smaller profit per individual, and many more people buy the service due to the value involved, it can end up being a net increase. It'd just depend on the numbers. (Making more fun things available with a single payment works great for Netflix, for example. Just look at how many people - myself among them - happily pay for Netflix but don't want to pay for multiple streaming services.) Also, with EA so recently releasing a near-universally acclaimed AAA-standard yet somehow free battle royale game, it's clear that they're at least willing to experiment with making high-quality games available to a wide audience in the hopes of earning money from microtransactions (which a playerbase may be more disposed to pay for if they already feel treated well by the company). TrixxieTriss
I recently read an article on reddit (sorry I can’t find it), that stated EA earning projections are way down on what they thought they’d be and Origin access and combining most of the games into one subscription has contributed to their profit projections. Industry specialists even point out that the Origin Access model will ultimately lose more money for EA than if they’d kept more of the games seperated, like they have for swtor. I think if swtor was put into the origin access, we could expect it to go full care taker mode, have one last server merge into one and then the game is left to die of old age and desease riddled bugs. IMHO, Swtor on Origin Access would be the instant death of the game. Edited February 11, 2019 by TrixxieTriss
Hawkebatt
Let's not kill the wounded beast before it has stopped thrashing. You never know it might just be a flesh wound. Since Anthem is now out we may not be ignored as much now. ...Well I can hope can't I?
