Sithlordnmaster
This is going to be long so turn back now if you don't want to bother reading it:rak_03: First and foremost I do not hate KOTFE etc I just feel the departure for previous story makes its reply value limited. So after Ziost instead of the call to meet Marr we would instead be called to a meeting by the leaders of our faction (Jedi/senate for republic) (Dark Council/Sith Intelligence for Imperial) At the meeting you would be informed that the threat of the Emperor must be countered at all costs, to accomplish that goal you are to lead a coalition task force to hunt down the Emperor but also to destroy all of his secret storehouses. To accomplish this goal you are given a capitol ship and an appropriate liaison from the opposite side; jedi receive a Imperial officer, Smuggler/Troopers receive Lana, Sith receive Theron Shan and Agents/BH's receive a Jedi knight. The first mission would be to search Ziost for clues as to why the Emperor chose that planet. After a search you would find a now ruined storehouse, here you would find a partial map to other storehouses. These could be on planets we had already visited or on new planets entirely or a combination. At the second store house you would find another partial map to 2/3 or 4 more stores, this would send you off to further explore various parts of the galaxy. At some store houses you would encounter zealots working for the emperor while others you would face the spirit of the emperor himself. If the devs wanted they could have released each storehouse like they did the chapters. After finding all the storehouses you would be led to Nathama to face the Emperor for a final time, if you were not a Jedi Knight you would meet Scurge on the planet and he would join you in the final battle. The battle would be similar to the fight with Revan except it would be your companions you face him with. Your lowest influenced companion would become possessed by the emperor and you would be forced to kill them in order to destroy him. For side missions throughout the hunt for the emperor you would be able to recruit specialists for the task force each time you would have a choice from three other class companions; for example you as a consular you could have a choice to recruit Kira, Ashara or Jaesa as a force sensitive companion, if you are a Inquisitor the choice would become Kira, Nadia or Jaesa. Once the Emperor was defeated if the wanted to keep going as they have with us as a separate faction then at the end we could be disavowed as a traitor, this would mean that you would go on the run with your companions. You could place NPC's in bases that would attack you if you came to close to them making it dangerous to return to low level planets . Just how I wished it could have gone but I just have to use this as my head cannon for all those through KOTFE

devilkat
Interesting idea. And it would be a nice reflection of KOTOR 1 (the star maps were the same as your storehouses).
Sithlordnmaster
Interesting idea. And it would be a nice reflection of KOTOR 1 (the star maps were the same as your storehouses). That was what gave me the idea, well that and it would have allowed them to reuse planets and we know that low cost is the modus operandi for BW at the moment. TalonVII
A better start IMHO. That could of lead up to Marr asking for your help then lead into KOTFE. Though as I've said for a while now, should of split the story into force user and non force user. If you want I can give you a break down. Tarkashae
If nothing else, I would have preferred that they had written different roles in the alliance based on class. Instead of giving the roles to NPCs. I have NO interest in leading anything on my BH, I just want to wander the galaxy and get paid. My SW would love to continue his role as enforcer/defender of the alliance, but he doesn't want to lead it, leave that to the inquisitors/consular. Agents could have had such a great story here, gathering information and maneuvering events anonymously. Leading the alliance ruins their entire history, and future. Etc, etc. And companions? That could have been more part of the story - tracking down your old crew to bring them back, or kill them. Instead of halls of skytroopers... JattaGin
This sounds like a very interesting idea. And after the Emperor is dead... KotFE and KotET could happen. Except Valkorion is not Vitiate, but Valkorion, some other powerful Force user who has plotted his conquest of the galaxy for centuries while shielding Zakuul from being found by the Emperor and his minions. As soon as Vitiate is gone, Valky makes his move. He has waited for it for so long. No one in the whole galaxy saw it coming. And then Marr contacts you. Like that, KotFE would even make sense. McBaal
I don't like it. Travel to x, grab y. Just another generic fetch and retrieve quest, no thanks. And how are you supposed to fight the emperor? He has no body! By killing one of our companions? Imagine the outrage, especially if even the lowest ranking companion still has a high influence level. The point of Valkorion was to give the PC someone to shoot at / stab and than push him into the PCs head where he / she could ultimately destroy him once and for all. The emperor was unable to control the PC on Ziost, so even letting him get into the PCs mind instead of possessing a companion wouldn't have worked IMO, not even in a light side "take me instead of my companion" way, since dark siders would be screwed. So no. No, no, no. Bringing back the emperor during SoR in the first place was a mistake and so unnecessary. I don't understand why BW did this in the first place. Emo Revan wanted to bring him back, he failed, story finished. Done. No more emperor related stuff needed. They could have still brought in Valkorion as a secret apprentice of the Sith emperor and done most of the KOTFE / KOTET story, just without the confusion. I enjoy the moments and debates with Valkorion in the PCs head, he is charming, menacing and the voice acting is just awesome. He has most of the traits a good villain should have. What SWTOR is missing right now is a good villain. Theron Shan...meh....booooring.
