Gads, I hope BW doesn't pull another "Hot Prospect" on us and do a last-minute change back to his original just because a few people are pitching tantrums about it. I'm not reading 8 pages on this topic but is there any indication it's a customization? I have over 3 ft. of stick straight hair and I had that as a senior in high school as well. Yeah, what can I say ... I'm boring. HEH! I wish I was that lucky. I had, wait for it, wait for it, a mullet. I grew up in Minnesota where the cool thing was to have hair sticking out of your hockey helmet. I was also a debate geek, but the hockey haircut won out. You only love your Theron if he has a nice hair? Shouldn't you love him for his character, inner beauty and values? And I'm not even joking this time! I honestly cannot believe how a haircut can make you rage so much. What if your spouse decides to come home with an unusual haircut one day? You gonna leave him? Deny lovemaking until his hair is back the way you like it? I don't think anyone's rl spouse/partner would get a terrible hair cut that does not suit them in real life without the other having some comment to make about it. I've had it when I change to a straighter style I wasn't sure about it and got a diplomatic comment in return. It's not that big a deal. For Theron's new "hair cut" it's more the terrible style choice. It's awful. If he's been mind-frelled and turned into a minion of whatever enemy they are forcing on us, why didn't they just shave his head? That would have been fine. Or just leave him as he was. Why did they give him an every-trash-mob-enemy-on-every-planet+Pierce hair-do? It's also about changing a favourite character (as well as a love interest) without any consideration for the fallout. Theron's had the same hair for years and despite his charming personality has been a no-frills kind of guy. He's in the midst of betraying you or infiltrating this organization and orchestrating this war and his first thought is "I totes need a makeover!" It's not like it's a disguise and it's not like he shaved his head to be part of this cult organization or for practicality. Who even is this person? Now he is a traitor and given this edgy hairstyle that is very rebellious for the conservative Theron we all knew before. Have any of you ever watched the show the Blacklist? The character Tom Keene played a guy that would undergo dramatic changes to his look to infiltrate whatever organization he was going undercover with. When we were first introduced to him he played a conservatively well-dressed school teacher who was in love with his wife (the target he was spying on). Later they said when he gets into a personality he becomes completely absorbed and immersed into the role. Then he went on to infiltrate some gang. He got tattoos, changed his hair, got piercings, etc. all to blend in with this new group. Theron's look isn't a disguise though and the organization knows who he is, they even call him by name. Physically you can immediately tell he's the same person. His hair color and even the overall shape of his hair are the same, just random chunks have been carved out to be edgy or whatever. What rational purpose does this serve? Again, it's not a disguise(and even in the book when he did go under cover in disguise as an imperial all he changed was his clothes) and would not be effective as one in any way. When I say "who is this person?" I mean his personality and actions. Nothing he's doing makes sense for him.
