It needs to be updated to refined isotope, which is current exotic mat. If you play in a group, it might drop refined isotope or two, but then you won't get weekly rewards. Also the gear dropping from EC needs to be updated: why would anyone want blue 204 items? Not to mention the vendors outside the arena: they are still selling 4.0 endgame gear... Yeah, it's rediculous to have the Eternal Champion waste away in sewer of waste, like a lot of other things in this game.
