Now I'm even absolutely blocked from sending my logs. I get told that there are too many images and that the log includes smilies and tags that have not been enabled by the administrator.

The best part is I finally got the patch installed by continuously killing it and restarting and the game is near unplayable once I get in. Great ping, system isn't getting taxed, but it's stuttering so bad it gave me a headache.

Just awesome, finally got back to the current launcher and now it's downloading patch 3.3.2. I'm guessing it's going to want to redownload everything? Should bill BW for my wasted time today, 6hrs and counting so far and looking like a few hours of downloading to get back to where I was. At which point the launcher will probably freeze on the new patch....again.

I turned off the Windows Firewall; I flushed the DNS; I restarted it about a gajillion times.

Here's what worked for me:

When the error (finally) shows up, click on your name in the upper right corner, getting the dropdown menu. Click on "Settings" and the 3rd choice should be "Repair" and it should be live. Click on that and let it run. THEN restart the launcher (making sure it's closed in Task Manager) and it might / should now work....

Good luck!

I decided to try my son's free account. After putting in the email verification code (he doesn't have a key code thingy) It is patching fine. So either not using a security key or not being subbed is working...... or both :) Needless to say I have bit raider disabled.

Once I patch on his account, I will try to play on mine.

It's ONLY affecting people who aren't using BitRaider. My suggestion is to REENABLE IT, not disable it. 10/10 reading comprehension.

Thank you for sharing your fix, it worked for me. I did the copy thing, and Bitraider only had to update like 3% to be completed. :D

I too saw that my repair button was finally active and with a flourish of excitement... I ran the repair... sadly, after making sure all was closed correctly, I relaunched only to see the same error. I guess I will sit and wait.

I was having the same issue and force closing through the task manager had no effect.

So the last time I closed the launcher normally (It was still open in task manager) but I left it and walked away, it then crashed with a pop up error message. It was now closed in task manager, I just re opened it and it worked just fine. I also happened to have the launcher log file open the whole time, not sure if that made a difference or caused the crash, but there you have it.

Good luck.

No word at all from the Devs other than "Yep, there's a problem!" and every 'fix' seems like a pure luck shot more than anything else. I know this isn't CM related Bioware but if you want people to buy dreck from the CM they have to be able to log in and play......weird I know but a thought....

Disable smileys and emoticons in your texts, which is an option you can choose at the end before you submit your message.

This worked for me, I suggest the rest of you try this workaround as well!
