New HK Weapons - Should these not be bound to legacy?

I'm not mad about all these HK "rewards" each month but surely the weapons should be Bound to Legacy instead of just bound.

 

There is a chance I might equip 2 HK blasters on my Mercenary but I won't be equipping just one.

 

Seems strange that all other recent Helmets and Blasters were BOL and this time not.

 

Eric, can you clear this query up please?

The weapons are in collections - pull a second one for a matched set. I wish the flight suit rewards from GSF launch wer collectible, so I could use multiple copies without dealing with legacy shenanigans

The weapons are useless because they are not legacy weapons.

The Nico blasters (which were a subscriber bonus) were legacy bound.

There is no reason for the HK weapon set not to have been.

 

Just unlock it from collections as stated above. They may not be legacy bound but you can still acquire them on any character.

 

For the sub rewards I don't see how legacy bound matters. If I create a new character I get a copy of every sub rewards in my mail. I have no reason to mail them to an alt when every character gets a copy no matter what.

you might notice they broke the hk helmet and it is no longer bound to legacy. they went back and lessened the previous months reward.

Thank you for clearing up that you can get this in collections - that would be my preferred state though obviously some would like to be able to move a modded legacy item about too.

 

I didn't realise that HK Helmet has become bound - I threw all these into a storage alt so now they are useless to me if it remains this way.

 

I'd like to see all reward items appear in collections so I can clear my inventory of them entirely and just call them up when needed.

 

Hope they make all the reward weapons main/offhand too if not already the case.

I think they changed it because we have a flood of legacy gear now clogging up storage and people were actually asking for the sub rewards to be in collections. If someone only wants these to be BoL so they can move mods they can do so with all the other legacy items available through gameplay.

 

I like it better this way, too.

Just in case you didn't notice it, the HK Helmet is in Collections now, too (as is the jetpack, although that doesn't clog inventories the way gear does).

 

I do hope they go back and move the Nico stuff to collections as well.

my take, since we have outfit designer and a ton of legacy armor options:

 

outfit rewards = collections

 

But since weapons do not have an outfit slot:

Weapons=BoL

Yes, that would be nice, too.

 

On another note, I'm still hoping for a weapon slot in outfit designer. So many unique looks wasted on greens and blues. :(

I don't know what they were thinking when they didn't include weapons in outfit designer.

Can a get an MP5 or a G36 for my Trooper now??? GREAT!!!!!

 

Then reality hit. :(

 

I'll have to make do with the Thompson you can get at the casino event. One of my troopers already has one...

I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it's something technical. Weapons don't seem to belong to your outfit the way armor does. I noticed that when playing around with texture quality. Armor texture quality is set by the "Character Texture Atlasing" parameter, while weapon texture is affected by the general "Texture Quality" parameter.

 

There's also the possible wasp nest of sound vs. look. People will want an option to decide which weapon's sound should be used... :rolleyes:

I can accept the technical explanation.

 

The sounds one gets dealt with the same way to outfits that have "weapons drawn" effects are(see Battleworn Engineer - the visible item controls.
