  1. I think the only way they can do a roll back is to reset everyone to that point in time for inventory, credits, progress, achievements, unlocks, etc. With real world money involved with CM, I don't think this is an option they'd entertain - esp this far down the line from launch of 7.0 (Feb 15th) But it's all good. They are silent and not communicating plans/roadmap, doing livestreams, engaging with the player base on forums save for patch delays - so you know they must be working hard to fix everything to ignore and take their player base for granted. I mean the last time Bioware told their loyal customers that even though their product was buggy, to stay with them as they fixed everything because there was a 10 year plan/commitment from the studio to their game, they didn't just cancel it and shut it all down a few months later, right Anthem fans? On no, we have the Cartel Market to milk us here so we're not in the same boat. These aren't the droids you're looking for, move along.
  2. Small team doing minimal communication and bug fixing, but not releasing large expansions/content? Too soon?
  3. There has never been nor will there ever be: a) an apology -or- b) compensation for disruptions. Unfortunately for you, your options are to live with it until it is fixed or walk away. There won't be anything done to make up for the missed time.
  4. I think staying silent while forums/reddit runs wild with doom and gloom has been par for the course for the entire time I've played this game.
  5. 100% agree. There is no reason at all to bring out a virulence/dirty fighting nerf in the midst of all of this.
  6. I was a day 1 sub and left for the first time during KOTET when I couldn't agree with the vision of Bioware/Ben any longer and returned when Keith took the helm and laid out his agenda. Sub now ends in 2 days and the reason this time isn't disagreeing so much with the vision (which parts of it I do) but because I no longer have faith that this studio can develop a quality game any longer. (There is literally an image that says WIP "work in progress" in live for god's sake) I will check back in when 7.1 finally drops - but if it happens in the manner I think it will- it may not be enough to subscribe again.
  7. Please find me one thing in this game that everyone agrees on. Hell, even on things like not enough new content coming there are those that say we get plenty for the low price of a monthly sub. So I'm not at all surprised or expecting for all those who participate in operations to agree on anything. I even stated early on that there are pros/cons to the starparse numbers being shown, just in my opinion the good outweighs the bad.
  8. Again, I think you are speaking to the exception and not the norm. Esp if in green 320 you were pulling 15-17k. As a (soon to be former- 6 days remaining) member of the NiM community, I'd have been 100% fine with that. ^This. Ignoring a huge part of the game for the actions of 1 random is silly. If you want to try out operations- join one of the many guilds recruiting - some of the larger ones advertise looking for people to join/learn operations.
  9. I'd agree- looking at the parsely databoards for some classes that would be near the top of charts dps - certainly not expected for 320. But I'd also say this behavior is not the norm at all. the bad experiences I've had with toxic players in pug SM operations has not been the case (nor HM for EV/KP) I do wonder if some people join forming operations for HM/NiM content not realizing and then get upset at dps/gear requirements. I know I have formed pug ops on fleet stating the mode and then having someone respond back to find they a) had never done the operation b) weren't in correct gear for their spec. Now I've been good about letting them down gently but I'm sure there are those who have less patience.
  10. While in cases it doesn't matter- I'm seen some pug groups enrage during Gharj and that was due to some dps pulling low numbers. The example I gave earlier was exactly that. The person yelling and pointing finger at others was pulling less than the tank in gear well above 320. So in this case, a toxic player who didn't know how to play their class- yelling at others. And as a side note, the most toxic people I've come across have not been the accomplished members of the raiding community - it has been the ones still learning but not willing to have others learn as well.
  11. Wrong takeaway in my opinion. it more means don't wade into this as part of a random pug. Random can be either a good or bad experience. Instead, find other players/guild that do operations and join a team there. Guilds typically provide a better way to learn operations and these raiding groups can also provide a sort of camaraderie and opportunity to meet and get to know other players from across the globe and form friendships.
  12. But there's two sides to this. Scenario 2, you have the "entitled" [redacteds] who thinks it is other players responsibility to carry them through a pug for an achievement/conquest goal/etc. This person yells at the other players that they aren't good and blames a player of lesser gear rating for any wipes. But one person looks and discovers that the person doing the yelling has the lowest dps of the group and isn't carrying their own weight. As I linked the other thread on this topic in my earlier post - I had this exact scenario play out in a pug operation. The said player was blaming a lower rated team member as the reason for a wipe and not meeting the dps needed to keep the boss from enraging. Once this toxic member was out of group and replaced - the remainder of the operation was completed effortlessly. So again, this feature can be used for good or bad. But at least it gives actual data vs people's feelings - and in many cases provides a more experienced player the ability to see what a less experienced player is doing and be able to offer help/tips to improve (which I have also done as a result of seeing this.) Ultimately, you can play in any manner you choose, but you are not entitled to other players' time. Entering group content brings about this risk both good and bad. Having actual data to allow people to make decisions I believe is better than people blaming on how they think/feel. Toxic will be toxic regardless - but at least the helpful parts of the community can use this to assist.
  13. Another thread has a lot of responses on this subject: https://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=1005143 There are both good and bad outcomes of this but in my opinion the good outweighs the bad
  14. Silence? Man, that is a huge change from them. They've been so interactive and communicative in the past... /S
  15. So if you weren't here at the beginning, 10-50 wzs were terrible. Players with no interrupts going against players with all abilities unlocked. So the tiers are not a bad thing - however population is an issue and likely the cause of what you find as frustrating there. Don't think that is an accurate picture of a level 0 rated ship topping the leaderboard like that. I know I never have seen that. Top of charts have always been the hardcore GSF regulars with ability to one-shot. Now a player with a 0 rated ship can earn quite a few medals in matches where they can defend a node and spend their time avoiding other ships with skill - but I'm really skeptical about topping damage/kills and assists. All that being said, GSF def felt a lot more fun with more players getting in there than the stagnant place it had been for years. More players can and should give it a chance as well. If nothing else, I found it was the best way to gear up to 326.
  16. IF you work in development, it actually is not about hoping. You know your team and resources and plan accordingly. They don't make a development plan, release that to players and then hope they get the funding to make it happen. Now, you can make estimations on delivery of developments and bugs can and do come up that cause delays. But to be so off comes down to misleading or being completely incompetent when it comes to estimating. So if you don't want to attribute malice, you have to attribute that they just aren't very good at what they do. Neither are good scenarios for fans of the game.
  17. Actually, go read the article about Anthem development by Jason Schreier Then, you can see it is 100% possible to blame Bioware. EA is by no means a kind/good hearted company looking out for gamers' best interests, but you can't blame them for not wanting to throw more money at a studio that is showing that it has no clue how to manage game development anymore. EA could double the money it gives Bioware and I think they would just double their disappointment and loss. Go back to launch when EA poured what was rumored to be hundreds of millions into the game. From there to now you can see the pattern of Bioware ignoring feedback and deciding they know what is best. And time and time again, you'll see it blow up in their face, but lessons never get learned. Go back through the forums and you'll see the same complaints time and time again "we gave this feedback in testing and it was ignored" " We need communication and the silence is costing you" etc.
  18. Well, the counter to that is if it was working they wouldn't have abandoned that model. Granted, they've now replaced it with a model of nothing new for anyone outside of costume designers and user acceptance testers.
  19. yep, with less players and updates going on 6 months+ after planned release. Not a dead game at all by any means due to the IP, but not in a good or healthy state Blockbuster Video isn't dead either, but I don't think people will point to the remaining store as proof that the naysayers are wrong about it's demise Edit: I'll be clear, I don't think this game is soon to be shut down. The IP alone has kept it afloat where other games would be dead by now. As long as there isn't another Star Wars game in the RPG/on line service model to compete - it will stay alive until those who spend on the CM keeping the game profitable stop spending.
  20. of course it would be expected to see a boost and drop after an update. and keeping an eye on year to year was why I laid out the data as far back as was available. It's not a massive gain at all. It's a loss. Not a massive loss, but a loss 😂😇 I never said ruined either. I distinctly said it was NOT in maintenance mode, but not bringing in enough players to replace the ones who were leaving. If you remove the spike for February for the patch, the average daily players is down for 2022 - hence needing to watch the remainder of 2022 to verify that trend. But seeing the numbers down from previous year so soon after a new "expansion" is concerning. I do expect another spike when 7.1 finally does drop as there will be some coming back to try out the new operation and daily area (myself included) Expansions will always bring a spike of new/returning players. But the mark of a healthy/good game is that you keep more of those than you had before. And dropping to numbers at or below pre-expansion is a bad sign. Of course these are just steam stats- which i pointed out that these were in fact steam stats. Bioware stopped providing stats after the massive loss of players in year 1. So I used the only transparent stats available, and mentioned that the stats were from steam - which I provided in entirety and linked to where to go get them. I didn't go anecdotal route and tell about all the people I've observed leaving my guild(s), raiding groups disbanding to go elsewhere - b/c that can't be quantified outside of gut feelings.
  21. Understaffed and low priority for the studio would be more accurate than maintenance mode. There are updates/plans for updates/content whereas maintenance mode would be no new content being added. But seeing how they struggle to meet deadlines, the amount of bugs introduced every patch that linger for ages before being patched (at all), and the fact that to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the game they are slotted at SW celebration to be an afterthought at a booth for a mobile whale hunter game - you can see what Bioware/EA think of this game and it's fans.
  22. Well, while true that there are doomsayers each patch, the population of the game has gone down since those days quite considerably (200 servers to a handful now). I think the big takeaway I've had is that the SW IP keeps this game afloat in spite of the deficiencies. Using the steam stats, the game enjoyed a release bump when 7.0 came out, to then drop to below pre-update numbers: https://steamcharts.com/app/1286830 Month Avg. Players Gain % Gain Peak Players Last 30 Days 5,308.6 +19.0 +0.36% 9,067 April 2022 5,289.5 -1,019.1 -16.15% 9,035 March 2022 6,308.6 -1,780.3 -22.01% 11,568 February 2022 8,088.9 +1,821.1 +29.05% 19,054 January 2022 6,267.9 +400.8 +6.83% 10,602 December 2021 5,867.1 +142.2 +2.48% 9,636 November 2021 5,724.9 -47.0 -0.81% 9,787 October 2021 5,771.9 -693.3 -10.72% 9,783 September 2021 6,465.3 -898.4 -12.20% 10,986 August 2021 7,363.6 +1,082.5 +17.23% 12,525 July 2021 6,281.1 +1,210.7 +23.88% 10,388 June 2021 5,070.4 -801.6 -13.65% 8,996 May 2021 5,872.1 +932.0 +18.87% 10,021 April 2021 4,940.0 -528.1 -9.66% 8,465 March 2021 5,468.1 -1,259.8 -18.72% 9,667 February 2021 6,727.9 -1,078.7 -13.82% 12,236 January 2021 7,806.6 +1,740.3 +28.69% 13,143 December 2020 6,066.3 -308.7 -4.84% 10,745 November 2020 6,375.0 +164.9 +2.65% 10,369 October 2020 6,210.1 -1,331.2 -17.65% 10,331 September 2020 7,541.3 -2,980.1 -28.32% 11,800 August 2020 10,521.4 -7,928.3 -42.97% 21,283 July 2020 18,449.7 - - 27,416 So just using steam's portion of the playerbase, we've seen a drop in both the average daily and peak daily over the past 2 years with the peak in players being the first 2 months of the game being on steam, and the 3rd highest peak being the release month of update 7.0. (6.0 released near end of 2019) Average daily in the last half of 2020 was ~9,194. Average for 2021 was ~6,113 Average for 2022 so far including the spike due to update 7.0: 6,253 Will be interesting to watch the chart for rest of 2022 as the spike from 7.0 has already led to past 2 months decline (early may results show a slight spike less than 1%) So, I won't say the game is dead and in maintenance mode because I've learned over the years that the IP will keep this game afloat as long as the lights stay on. But it isn't bringing in enough new players to replace the old ones they aren't retaining.
  23. 10th anniversary and instead of a cantina/livestream, SWTOR gets to be a guest in the booth of a mobile game whose predatory model is helping to destroy gaming. A game where the lead producer a few years back admitted that players wanting to be able to compete would need to drop $4,000-5,000 Yay, I'm glad there was a shift in resources to make sure you got to collaborate to put a character into a different game to milk money from players. I'm glad 6 months after the actual 10th anniversary we are back to the point where there is a non-committal road map where we can no longer get dates of updates because the Bioware once again is no longer able to meet deadlines- so we just don't have those anymore. At least you haven't gone full Anthem where you claim to have a long term commitment to the game before announcing there is no more game.
  24. Not to mention the amount of sales of CC would surely go down if players were no longer able to use their CC to generate credits. It is not likely that there is a scenario where Bioware does anything that cuts into CC revenue. That's a non-starter.
  25. All my opinion/speculation, but I'm pretty sure they would take that money and put it towards a game they could get the ROI with it. EA will not pour more money into this game past the minimum required to maintain with small updates. It makes enough with small investment to keep them happy with SWTOR - but they are long past any thought that they could invest heavily in this game and get a return on it. Does that mean the game itself is in maintenance mode? No, it just isn't in a place where they place any priority on growth for the game. It is all happy to keep the Star Wars fan money spigot going for space barbie. As long as that continues, this game will have a place. Once it doesn't, then it will end. There will be no investment push to regain/grow playerbase.
