  1. It's BoE. Helmet is on GTN for 70k on Star Forge.
  2. Indeed. My smuggler is quite happy being the captain of her privateer ship and doing the odd jobs for creds and giggles.
  3. In Dulfy's companion gift guide it is stated that Master Ranos likes additional gift types when romanced. However, I cannot find any information on how she could be romanced. Has there been any information on that?
  4. As I remember and also as Dulfy lists it, every influence rank is supposed to add 1.5% time efficiency bonus and 0.5% critical rate bonus. However, at the moment the information for each companion has it reversed, 0.5% time efficiency bonus and 1.5% critical rate bonus. Is that working as intended, has it been documented anywhere as intended change? Or is it just a visual bug? 75% crit bonus on a rank 50 companion is nice, but seems a bit excessive...
  5. Annoying as hell that nothing can be linked from Cartel Market to chat.
  6. I wonder what exactly is so important to you - that they reply/acknowledge, or that they act? How critical is the ToS violation? Severe harassment? Game-breaking cheating? Copyrighted character name? Does it require immediate attention? If not, remember we didn't just have holidays but also two game patches which produced a lot of bugs that affect the actual game progress of many players, whose tickets/issues will likely take priority over a non-critical ToS violation. If it's anything requiring immediate attention, email is likely not the best way. (If screenshots are required, I open an in-game ticket first, to get a ticket number, then send an email with that ticket number in subject line.) For harassment there's an in-game reporting feature that raises the appropriate flags in the system, as is for a variety of other ToS violations. The In-game system pre-sorts and categorizes tickets while those arriving via email most likely have to be sorted manually, especially when the respective keywords are missing or misleading.
  7. Hm, interesting. I must have exceptionally bad luck then. In a thousand chips I had only reputation tokens (I'm maxed out on rep, so useless) and my lose rate was closer to 40%. According to this I should have had at least some jawa stuff.
  8. Nice, but the slot machine still doesn't have any detectable chance to drop cartel certificates, does it? But thanks for the PSA. I didn't notice.
  9. The 6-digit code is only valid for a very short time, i.e. a minute or so. You have to enter username, enter password, *then* open the app, get the key & enter it quickly before it's invalid.
  10. For me, Google Authenticator is easier to use. I always had trouble with the syn'cing the swtor app. Once it's set up, you just open the app and it gives you the code. It looks like this, it keeps automatically refreshing the codes in a 1-minute interval without additional input. Set up: - install, open - "add account" - "manual entry" (as opposed to barcode scan) - enter name of the account (doesn't have to be an email address, it's just for identification in the app, since you can use the app for multiple accounts) - enter the alphanumeric code from the swtor website, app gives you a 6-digit key - enter key on the swtor website
  11. You can also use Google Authenticator app. Has worked for me reliably since the SWTOR app stopped working. Also make sure the date, time, and time zone of your device are set correctly.
  12. After the DvL event, which I enjoyed a great time, revisiting all the class stories in a breeze, with a new set of characters that I enjoyed, with new life in the game, events, group activities etc., several factors came together with 5.0 and Galactic Command that made me take a break of almost 2 years, with a short resub once or twice. Up until that point it was addictive and part of my daily routine to at least log in, check GTN sales, run a few missions, etc. Now I returned and as I'm tying up loose ends with old and new characters, catching up on Galactic Command and the economy, I'm enjoying it, but I don't see myself going back to the addiction levels. I started playing new roles which I enjoy and like to polish (i.e. shadow tanking, merc healing), but I won't be zealous about it. It's the only space MMORPG of its kind. Had Mass Effect 4 turned out to be the rumored MMORPG, I'd be there.
  13. Story: Jedi Knight Gameplay (Combat): Carnage Marauder, closely followed by Kinetic Combat Shadow Gameplay (Character): Sith Warrior (female)
  14. The methods *they* use are not available to you resp. not viable for regular players with a job (other than swtor). If that were so easy, the credit sellers would be out of business. You can invest real money at a much higher rate by buying cartel stuff and selling it for in-game credits. Crimson Talon armor set for example is listed at 70M on GTN. I don't know if it also sells for that price, but it's a direct purchase for 2600 cartel coins, selling it at 70M is actually a decent conversion. The billionaire players, I suspect, are investing time and real money that I personally can't or don't want to invest (ops, conquests, dailies/weeklies, heroics, cartel market, GTN, etc). I think one very basic key is observing and understanding GTN trades and cycles, if you can't/don't want to spend 8+ hours each day earning credits through missions. I had a guildmate who spent about $300-350 per month on cartel coins. (That changed when his first kid arrived.) He still didn't get rich because he didn't have the patience to manage the sales properly.
  15. It was phrased wrong. They are not required by law, but it was mandatory from the customer's perspective, which doesn't change that it's not necessarily the customer's fault if he has a constantly changing IP address when logging in from home. (Which doesn't matter, anyway, since having the same IP address doesn't affect the OTP requirement.)
  16. I've heard that, too, but I think the "one time" in "one time password" refers to "single use". Btw, in Europe ISPs are required to disconnect you every 24 hours. You may get the same IP afterwards or not. It's a pain in the *** to the point where CS needed to remove the registered IP from my account for me to be able to use the forums. So that's not necessarily OPs fault at all. A country of 320M hogging 35% of IPv4 addresses allows the US a luxury of static IPs that the rest of the world doesn't have. But if I remove the security key, I'm asked for OTP every single time I log into the game or the forums, even if the IP hasn't been renewed. (Had to do that when my phone broke.) That suggests the OTP doesn't work as you and others describe.
  17. I was going to say something similar. I have no problem with gear progression taking time, but I have a problem with it being unplannable and highly inefficient. I have a job and family to take care of, I have bouts of weeks where I'm unable to play and it's beyond frustrating to not be able to use the available time to gear in an efficient and sensible manner. It's what made me unsubscribe with 5.0. One of the biggest problem the game had from early on. "We don't like the way you play our game, so we will force you into playing it our way." - "We don't care what you think is fun, we know better." Guild summit in 2012 explaining how massively important guild [management] features are in a community based game, an lo and behold, in 2018, when the game is reduced to 5 servers globally, they improve guild features because community is such a big and important aspect of the game...
  18. It is not realistic, no. But it has for the most part realistic proportions. Why would you wonder about that? They address different players and interests. An electric city scooter and a diesel pickup may have a small group of customers interested in both, but just because they're both the same brand doesn't make one the death of the other.
  19. They're too different genres, too. Anthem looks like a fluffed up looter shooter with minimal rpg and actual character development/customization. What you develop and customize is your mech suit. Which interests me like, zero. SWTOR is also the only space mmorpg that's character and story focused and neither looks like a cartoon nor a manga. If SWTOR were a Star Wars based cartoon mmo I wouldn't play it, so it's definitely not its only saving grace.
  20. Hah. The old trick did it, lol. No worries, the forums love "riddle me this" posts.
  21. Making the calculations it looks like the purple item's stats are not registering at all... Crit: 344 - 123 = 221 Pwr: 1908 - 108 + 1800 Mastery: 5268/1.05 - 268 = 4749 // 4986/1.05 = 4748 (1.05 = class buff) Endurance: 5570/1.05 - 309 = 4996 // 5246/1.05 = 4996 (1.05 = class buff) (Since you're posting I assume you're subscriber and authorized to equip artifact equipment. Without artifact equipment authorization the stats of equipped artifact items are ignored.)
  22. After its heroic death in a collapsing instance 4 on Nar Shaddaa, I proposed a decorative statue in memory of overheating god-droid. Please support my motion here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=9684837#post9684837
  23. I propose a memorial statue for the overheated god-droid of NS/i4 on Star Forge. For almost a week it steadfastly weathered the continuous, relentless onslaught from elite allied forces hailing from all corners of the galaxy, all walks of life and all political affiliations. The droid united an otherwise deeply divided playerbase in conjoint Life Day celebrations with snowballs, parcels and lots of decorations, amicable small talk and educating lessons on how endgame gear actually works. Its sacrifice shall not be forgotten, its achievement celebrated forever. All hail God-Droid of NS/i4!
  24. Exactly this. Dumping a patch, known to be buggy or not, and then leaving the fallout unattended for 4 weeks is the part that is a no-go. Every software patch has a high probability to cause unexpected errors or bugs and it is common practice, at least where I work, to stick around to deal with it. And if that's not possible, the release is postponed, not the customer left with a buggy product for weeks. The full rotation of existing in-game events would have been enough for the holidays. But I guess the calculation was once again that a new story release would bring up subscriber numbers to fluff up the stats before the FY closes. It's been a recurring theme since the game was released. FY and Q are the main driving factors.
