kaotez
So I went to the companion locator and got all my companions back, but it said they werent back canonically. I was wondering how to do that. how do you get them back canonically. Is it through the specialists or the story in a later update?

Just shooting a guess, I haven't used the Companion Terminal on any of my characters, but if it's anything like Niko, you're getting them earlier than waiting for the story. My guess is, when their part of the story comes out, they'll fall in place at that time. Understand, totally a guess on my part. But logically makes sense, to me anyway. Hopefully someone who has done it may have a more concrete answer for you.

However, it is also worth noting that not every class will get all their companions back in terms of canon. Some may decide they don't want to have anything to do with you. Others, may play no role in the future of this game, and from a canon perspective, will be "lost to the mists of history." Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, if in fact that news is bad to you. Storm-Cutter
Yup. ^ pretty much this. Tho' I still think that BHs and Smugglers got the shaft on this one. - The trooper finds 4X and Yuun and finds out about Vic all in part I - leaving only 2 left unaccounted for. But no news on Blizz, Gus, Risha, Gault, Torian and the rest. - Would have been better to do 1 for each class, rather than skew it so disproportionately...... That doesn't mean they necessarily will be, but to my understanding bioware have never officially said that some companions won't come back? I will leave the proof in the below spoiler tag: Tanno Vik cannot be recruited, and after you encounter him, he sends you mail that he WON'T rejoin Havoc Squad. Now, this does not mean we won't encounter him again, but since the original voice actor passed away, it's a good bet that Chapter 8 is the last we'll ever see Vik. Yes, but that didn't stop the character from appearing. You said 'lost to the mists of time' indicating that they just wouldn't appear. Big difference between a character appearing and telling you 'f off' and simply not appearing.

You said 'lost to the mists of time' indicating that they just wouldn't appear. Big difference between a character appearing and telling you 'f off' and simply not appearing. Some of the companions had fairly big name voice actors and actresses. If it's a choice for Bioware to spend an insane amount of money or to not bring the character back at all, I'd bet we simply won't see them, and they can justify it under the banner of "you didn't get (See Spoiler Tag) back, so really it's no different." After all, we're assuming here that every single companion is still alive and kicking. But it's been 5 years with a Galaxy at war. If they DID bring every single one back, that sort of undercuts the importance of the war, and devastation caused by the Eternal Empire. I fully expect us to find out that some of our faithful followers were killed of in... - The War - A game of Sabbacc that went sideways - Order 11 (The 3000 year precursor to Order 66) You get my point. I have to agree, had the same thoughts, I think Smugglers and Bounty Hunters are the only 2 classes without so far, unless you count the Ship Droids, but who counts those. All of which is possible, but none of it's been confirmed by bioware yet. Also (and correct me if in wrong) a lot of the bigger name actors were character love interests. If bioware don't bring back people like kira, mako and vette then they are likely to have more than just a few cancelled accounts. I think people would prefer a different actor to not having the character.
OldVengeance
Personally, I'm not sure if would be any better for me. With few exceptions, I've found characters being recast, especially in Bioware games makes them feel like they might as well be totally different ones. So I guess, I'm in a lose/lose situation. Dayshadow
More than likely the romanceable companions will return and the non-romanceable types will vanish or die. One of the Inquisitor's companions is already killable. Perhaps if they plan to ever introduce class storylines again after this whole Infinite Empire fiasco "resets" things, this will open up room to gather new companions. I'm wondering when the starship escape hatch will be used. Players will probably given the option of a new ship at some point too.

wolfyde
Without claiming it's a definitive indication of something, I did notice when going to SWTOR's IMDB page http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1320395/fullcredits?ref_=tt_cl_sm#cast and clicking on the various companion actors, that some have Fallen Empire in their credentials (Like Kira's, Mako's, ...), so I assume they have been contracted for voicework, yet others (LIke Risha's, Lord Scourge, ...) don't have it listed. Could either mean they and/or their characters won't be returning, or they haven't been contracted yet but might be in the future. Anyway, thought it was interesting

He get's Rusk's healing dialogue. Either because of a bug or an oversight. I was wondering about all that stuff though. Most companions have it, even if they don't have a role in the game. Was that added in for KotFE or was that stock dialogue that was always in the game files? I find it hard to believe they hired Rachael Leigh Cook to come back as Jaesa just to say "Stop Slacking," "You owe me now," and "You're not dead" but not have any actual lines of dialogue in the story. Zharik
My biggest gripe about this situation is when you gift up a companion (or several) and they disappear. I mean if you get Vik to Influence 50 pre expansion and he is not an option to return when you see him, that really doesn't make sense. (I imagine that at Influence level 50, that companion absolutely adores your character, is willing to take a bullet for you, kill for you, works extremely hard at making you happy, etc.) But the "canonical story line" treats them all as not having an Influence score (or worse by having a fixed score). If I have treated Vik like a criminal the whole (basic) story (well he is) and we run into each other in the (new) story, having him tell me to 'go pound sand' makes sense, but if we've been scamming the Republic for extra credits this whole time he might be quite excited to get the "good 'ole days" back. And I understand that they didn't track how you have treated them in all the conversations all this time, but this could at least be represented by the Influence score. Choices *should* matter more. branmakmuffin
My biggest gripe about this situation is when you gift up a companion (or several) and they disappear. This is why Treek and HK-51 are more valuable now than they were. You never lose them, so you can rank them up with tremendous gusto and and unabashed enthusiasm. Anyway, thought it was interesting Kira Carsen had some lines in KOTFE for my Jedi Knight, in the prologue. So yeah, she's in there. Asking for her fate is an option in one of the Alliance NPC dialogues (forgot which one, might be Yuun), so I'm sure she's set to reappear. OldVengeance
IMDB can be edited by anyone can't it? The all the old companion actors are also listed as being in Shadow of Revan, but only a handful them actually were.

All my characters were at influence 10 at Kotfe start, which was the maximum you could have. So I really didn't have an opportunity cost attached to invest in this or that character. That said, I beefed up Beniko to lvl 30 because I like her and I wanted to have her around as companion in quests, and T7 to lvl 35 because he's my Jedi Knight's most loyal companion. So I really haven't min-maxed companions that much. Korth Vortena is a **** and won't get a single gift from me, though.
