Solo Ranked Match Making

I understand that alot of people play FOTM classes, I understand a lot FOTM players Queue those classes in ranked, but the match making system could at least try to divide the FOTM classes as equally as possible on the opposing teams... Having 4 sorcs on 1 team and 4 PTs on the other is just poor match making. It's not just with FOTM classes it's with all classes, just because there's 4 of any AC in Queue doesn't mean they should all be on the same team. If it's going to be AC vs AC in solo ranked just make it ranked 1v1 because that basically what the solo ranked matchmaking system is already doing putting all of the same ACs on a single team. Everyone doing solo ranked right now is NOT getting a fair rating because of this.

Sadly the system doesn't recognize classes, only the role they are in. Also sadly it will pair high rated players together first then put them against a low rated team instead of mixing the ratings.

So players get screwed double... not only do they get lower ratings from getting put with same ACs on different teams... as you continue to lose due to this match making system, it goes on to build a bias against you for losing because of the bad hands it dealt out initially...

Yep, thats why the first 10 matches are so important.

Classes where a bad idea, this game has and will always have crap pvp by design.

 

IF you want competitive pvp you play a MOBA or a first person shooter, if you want unbalanced, unfair loads of dung you play an MMO.

 

It is what is it, enjoy it for what it is. It is fun, but you cant take ranked serious in a MMORPG.

The original pvp design in this game was very good and still is.....for 8v8. Problem isn't the pvp system, the problem is poor management by BW. No cross servers at launch, botched Ilum due to poor game engine (which is a shame as the idea was pretty cool) pulled ranked 8 hours before 1.2 went live, when it finally did get added it was left in pre season for nearly 2 years, opens server transfers and 8v8 ranked picks up, removes 8v8 a month later and adds 4v4.....pvp guilds all but disappear after that.

 

Adding 4v4 was probably their biggest mistake ever in pvp.

A cool idea would be to have an additional queue for class-based queue, so someone could receive separate rank for this category, without hurting their solo ranked or group ranked queues. So we'd have a Solo Ranked queue, mainly targeted for people just starting in ranked, providing smaller rewards, Class Ranked, providing more rewards than Solo Ranked, and Group Ranked would ideally have the most out of the three, but I'm certain that others would argue the other way, but that's not really the point I'm getting at anyway. However, this could never be implemented because of the lack of people that queue for ranked anyways. Dividing this group of players up even more wouldn't work out very well.

 

Tl;Dr: New ranked queue: Class Queues, separate from yolos and grouped. Won't work due to lack of ranked population.
