Does anyone use Supercharged Cell in PVP?

And why is that? I can see the advantage on boss fights in pve, but I do not see much benefit in pvp.

Well, Arsenal gets a really sweet 6% Alacrity buff at 6 Stacks of Supercharge's stacking buff for Arsenal. Innovative Ordinance gives a pretty deadly burn DoT when you hit a target with a Ranged Damage attack while it has Incend Missile on it, and Bodyguard... Well, if you don't use Supercharge Cells as Bodyguard you ought to be kicked in the balls...

I play gunnery, and I like the Alacrity buff (on paper), but I don't see it helping much in actual use. The entire Supercharged Cell only last 10 secs, and to get to 6% Alacrity, you have to execute 3 abilities to build charges.

With gcd + wz lag, the 6% Alacrity is usually only benefiting 1 abilities. I am just not sure that helps more than 1% damage buff over a much longer duration.

I am not trying to argumentative or difficult in any way, I am genuinely curious about comparing the options.

Pop supercharge right when you go into blazing bolts, you'll built the stacks much faster that way. It's also worth noting that supercharge grants armor pen.

Thanks. So you are saying that stacks build with each tick of Boltstorm? If so,that is interesting, but it is still hard to know if that helps you more than 1% more damage, usually over the entire duration of a fight.

I'm pretty sure that Supercharge grants that 1%, actually i think it grants 3% for it's duration...

I want to thank everyone for your replies. It has given me more to think about and test.

Ultimately, I think I am still going to be left with more questions than answers. Maybe what I am really trying to figure out, no one knows for sure.

There have been many statements about what is good with Supercharged Cell, and that is fine. But I already know it is good. What I really want to know is if it is better.

Is 10 seconds of armor pen + the building Alacrity buff (which only benefits the last few seconds of the 10 sec duration) a greater overall buff than 1% damage buff + 1% healing buff , which lasts the entire duration of combat in most situations.

Yes... Armor Penetration allows you to deal more raw damage through armor. and the building alacrity buff allows you to get attakcs off faster.

Please correct me if I'm wrong (as this is off the top of my head), but I do believe that every time you deal damage with Boltstorm and/or DM, you refresh the length of the armour pen up to a max length

Once you activate Supercharged Cell, it last for 10 secs. Nothing refreshes it.

*Edit - at least not in Gunnery. Not sure about other specs.

I use it all the time with my Assault Specialist Commando. It has a really nice DOT + it makes all your other dots do better damage. You can really burst someone down quick when you pop in and combine it with high impact bolt. Basically run up, then incendiary round, then activate supercharged cell then high impact bolt, then demo charge, then full auto, then use proc'd impact bolt. That is a lot of dmg really quickly dealt. They have 3 dots on them and after this rotation i use serrated bolt to add on another dot to take a slight advantage of the dot dmg increase from supercharged.

I recharge the supercharged cell while on the run and healing myself with med shots, or during combat with charged bolts.
