Ktanus
Started a Dathomiri clan based role play guild, and omg.... Lets get some lore facts down, shall we? I've been getting hassled a lot by a bunch of players who think they know Star Wars lore based off of the KOTOR games, and their limited knowledge stemming from watching the movies. Let me tell you something, you don't know a damn thing. KOTOR isn't Star Wars, it never will be, its a video game... get it? VIDEO GAME!!! It's not the story Lucas hashed out and planned, it's not part of the movies, not even remotely. So you want to hassle someone because you think you know better? Because you played a video game and watched Clone Wars? 1. The Nightsisters were a clan on Dathomir three thousand years into the future of SWTOR. 2. Gee, how did the Nightsister get to Dathomir, I wonder... they were born and raised on that planet. 3. What does that mean? Well, long ago, Zabrak and Humans were settling there and having kids together. 4. This created a breeding population that grew into the millions, BEFORE THE NIGHTSISTERS EVEN EXISTED. 5. In the SWTOR timeline, Dathomir still exists, it wasnt created by the Nightsisters. 6. All other Dathomiri had a clan like culture including shamans, and spell usage they created to tap into the force (as they felt they had to). 7. All other Dathomiri clans were or could be considered 'light side' force users, even though a Dathomiri wouldn't consider the force either dark or light side. 8. Many of the clans are lead by a clan mother. 9. Males, in many clans, were considered labor, workers, breeders, and sometimes mates. 10. Their sun, Domir, is bathes Dathomir in red light. 11. Dathomir has several moons (4? at least 2) one of which is called Koratas. 12. They have one holiday called Winterfest where the elder force witches give gifts to the younger ones. 13. There was a plague called the Blackwing plague. 14. If a male saved the life of the clan mother, he was most likely freed from bondage and called a Free Male. 15. Male witches were considered a great prize. SO, you think you know Star Wars? You don't know crap.

Ordo
For the record, These 'shamans' you talk about where part of the Kwa species, a reptilian race native to dathomir. This was 100,000 Years BBY. They were extince by 30,000 Years BBY. Which is when the planet was ruled by the Rakata. The Rakata are the 'ancient' race often mentioned in this game. By this time there are 0 Kwa alive. And 0 shamans. 3000 Years BBY Dathomir was a prison colony for the Paecian Empire. Around 1000 Years BBY the brotherhood of darkness had a sith academy on Dathomir. Which started it's trend towards the dark side. The change to strong matriarchal society on the planet didn't happen till around 600 Years BBY (Almost 2500 years after this game, making it closer to the movies than this game.) When exiled jedi Allya was banished there. Where she taught the women of the penal colony the ways of the force. They, along with her daughters became the first night sisters. Before this however, it was a long standing penal colony. Very similar to Belsavis. Minus of course, the revolt featured in this game. The Blackwing 'plague' was an engineered sickness created by the Empire (Darth Sidius') some time between Episodes IV and V. This should have 0 baring on anything in this game's time frame. You got the moons and the star right. Good job. (there are 4 moons.) Winterfest? Again, not until way way way past where this game is in time line. There were only ever dozens of clans. Not hundreds. So, no. You are wrong. Get your facts straight. Also, Both the clone wars and kotor are cannon. In fiction, canon is the material accepted as part of the story in an individual universe of that story. It is often contrasted with, or used as the basis for, works of fan fiction. Both the Clone Wars and Kotor fall under this heading. Where did you do this so claimed research? Just stuff you made up? StuffIMadeUpToSoundLikeASmartyPants.net? That's alright. But don't for a second try to call people out on what is and isn't cannon and then spew random nonsense that isn't anywhere near correct and try to pass it off as fact just because you said so. SO, you think you know Star Wars? You don't know crap. [/Quote] Edited June 11, 2015 by Ordo

Ordo
For the record. I suspect this is how pvp drama sounds to non-pvpers. lol. True story. Worst part about my slamming the OP? I'm not an RPer by and large. I pvp and pve much more. I am just a really big star wars fan. And, hate it when people try to pass them selves off as experts who clearly have 0 clues about what they are talking about. EDIT: I also had no idea this was even a thing until I logged in to read the forums this afternoon. xD Edited June 12, 2015 by Ordo
