I was in a match last night that was 6 sorcs, 2 sins. 3 of the sorcs were lightning, the other 3 were healers, and one of the Sins was a tank. Easily one of the most painful matches I've ever been in.

This has been what most of my warzones the last few days have looked like. Sorc healers, sorc healers everywhere

Optimal Stats For All 24 Disciplines, KOTFE Edition
sloasdaylight replied to Goblin_Lackey's topic in Roles
It means that the ability is channeled/casted/whatever and takes up 2 GCDs. For Example Ravage > Ravage* indicates that Ravage will be taking up 2 GCDs, as opposed to something like Battering Assault > Force Rend where the > indicates a change in GCD. -
Pax Republica also runs group ranked periodically as well, we have a pretty sizable roster of toons fully geared/augmented. We played a few games a week ago or so with Moq, Jaytin, and a Scoundrel from your guild who I can't remember right now, good times, good players.

Request for Pub Guilds to change sides, Imp pvp is terrible
sloasdaylight replied to tavrinDosa's topic in The Ebon Hawk
I keep hearing about this supposed Pub domination or Pub leaning balance on this server with regard to PvP, but I can't really say I've ever seen it. -
Why can I never seem to queue against those groups...

Ravage on the move would make class perfect
sloasdaylight replied to Skettitangles's topic in Sentinel / Marauder
There's plenty of point when you can establish a use or role that the class previously had that it now doesn't thanks to a change. Pre-3.0, Combat was the burst spec; post, it's not. Honestly, I'm fine with the Devs changing things around every now and then (not quite to this extent, but that's a different story). However, with the changes, I can't really see a role for Combat to have anymore. Watchman does better sustained damage by pretty ridiculous margins, Concentration is much better for burst, which leaves Combat out in the cold with nowhere to call home. It's not a highly mobile spec, it's not good sustained pressure, it's not a good hard swap spec (which no one does anymore right now anyway), it doesn't parse well - so what's it good for? -
Do we get to keep our stuff? And question re crafting

Ravage on the move would make class perfect
sloasdaylight replied to Skettitangles's topic in Sentinel / Marauder
The whole susceptible to CC thing is kind of the point. Sent were always susceptible to CC, but we had major damage we could output if left alone. The whole risk/reward thing was better pre-3.0 BECAUSE we could output so much more dmg with master strike. -
I transferred from PoT5 to Ebon Hawk, and it's pretty great. 60 WZ pops happen pretty much all the time, and it's rare that you ever have to wait more than about 5 minutes at primetime. Pub/Imp balance of power is shifted toward the imps slightly in my experience, but not so drastically that you have no hope of winning.

I tried to do that when the patch hit, and I would get like 2 ticks of Cauterize on like 1, maybe 2 other people. It's such a joke to try to do it's not even funny.

My ability to pressure with damage as Combat is no where close to what it was pre-3.0 when Master Strike would actually do real damage. I can't say for sure whether it would make a huge difference, but scaling Master Strike back up to its pre-3.0 levels would most certainly be welcome. -

A possible voidstar exploit- should this be allowed?
sloasdaylight replied to muhidin's topic in PvP
I was going to quote this for truth, but honestly if you've got a premade that's heavy on healers and tanks (or at least tanky classes), you're going to be really hard pressed to get them all down in under a minute. -

Oh man, totally. Like, I hate it how Juggernauts can totally knock me back off a node while I'm capping it. Or how like, Mercs can electronet me. Or how Powertechs can run around freely when they use an ability and prevent me from capping something, or run out of range of my melee abilities. Or how Snipers use that shield so I can't jump to them. Or how Maras use Predation. Or how Assassins can vanish and then just show back up. It's not gimmicky, and it's not a trick. It's a legitimate way to get help from one side to the other. -
Awe is on a minute long CD, is affected by resolve, and is shared across the Warrior/Knight class, so Juggs/Guardians have it as well. Not a Sent/Mara exclusive. Predation is on a 30 second CD, and unless you're specced into it, you have to give up one of your major DPS boosters to take it. I will grant you though that this is an awesome ability, and that most take the talent point. Raidwide heals....that are a joke for healing done. Over the course of a WZ you may have a couple hundred thousand healing in ideal dot spread and ops positioning arrangement, if you're pocket healed, and not focused by the other team. It's rare that your supposedly uber raid wide healing will make any profound impact. Bloodthirst is on a 5 minute CD and lasts for what, 10s? Uberleet utility brah. Meanwhile, we have the lowest mobility/rooting ability of any melee class. We cannot taunt to help healers. We have to spend a talent point to get a root. We have 1 interrupt. We have the weakest dot spread in the game of classes that can dot spread. Watchman has a long ramp up time from a cold start. We wear medium armor, and we're melee, which means we're in the thick of all of it, affected by every dot known to man thanks to all the fotm Sorcs and Sins out there spreading their STDs all over the place.

I was in an Assault on Tython with a tank in 136 gear who insisted the reason his gear looked how it did was because I was looking at his outfit from outfit designer and he was totally in his 192 gear. When I asked him why he had something like 25k hp he told me to shut up and that I was lucky he was letting a Sentinel in his HM FP group and that I had just better keep transcendence up. My healer guildie and I left after this dude damn near got 1 shotted by the first boss, after struggling mightily through the pulls.

So You Think You Know Star Wars Based Off KOTOR
sloasdaylight replied to Ktanus's topic in The Ebon Hawk
I'm sorry, were you saying something? -
I'm postponing gearing my other characters until 3.3 hits. I was going to hit it really hard on my sage, but with it only being a month out from the changes, and with the commendations being bound to legacy now, I'm not going to worry about it and just hoard comms on my sentinel.

But it is relevant that they did it on that character BoL is great for quality of life things, or some rep gear I guess, but I don't feel like you should get to just bind everything to your legacy just because you want to. If you want to get the Season 5 title on your Sorc, but you mainly play a VG, guess what, you need to put in the time and earn that title on your Sorc.
