Archonitek
Not sure if it'll be an easy add or something monstrously difficult, but I was wondering the merits of having a range indicator under your cross hair that gives real time distance when you are pointing it at something, be it ships or terrain. I know it already works when you aim it at an enemy ships even if you haven't targeted them and it tells you distance under the ship, but if it works with terrain as well, this might help prevent a lot of pilots evasive manoeuvring themselves to death. Danalon
The only evasive maneuvers profiting would be barrel roll, because it's the only one that move you straight forward, and power dive for the part before the actual dive. Preventing crashing into something with barrel roll is imo the easiest of all maneuvers to learn because you just need to see if there's a lot of free space in front of you. Preventing crashing into something with power dive is mostly about the dive part and you need situational awareness and map knowledge for that. It would be more useful and probably easier to show the range of friendly satellites and ships so it's possible to see where they're fighting. Verain
Well, we won't get this, ever. But it is pretty cool. What makes the idea so great is it makes the interface more "physical"- by moving the cursor around you will be "sounding out" the distances. It would really help in all ways.
