Dras_Keto
They did it within three or four hours of the patch dropping because they had already done the "work" on the PTS and Bioware released it as is. The whole "Race to see who kills the boss first" has very little meaning in this game.
LordArtemis
I personally think that those that oppose a "costume" system are a very tiny minority of the playerbase AS LONG as it is optional. it was the same with those that opposed the removal of "visual progression". Some die hards railed against the change pretty hard, but in the end the majority ruled the day IMO. Visual progression, for better or worse, is a relic of the past, and so is static appearance based on gear. Appearance should be fluid IMO in a modern MMO. Most modern MMOs embrace this reality. Orizuru
That's much better than whatever pointless crap they intended legacy gear to be used for. Never mind the fact that experience trumps gear ten-fold, so the teams that actually do waste time grinding gear on alts to legacy to their mains, instead of just getting more pulls in on the boss they are struggling with, are only hindering themselves. So to me, this guy's complaint about legacy gearing being harmful to progression raiding is nothing more than him looking for an excuse why Zorz crushed DP NiM on day 1, and his guild couldn't. The correct answer is of course that Zorz really is simply that much better. In any case, people who have the time and alts to run the ops multiple times per week deserve to get those extra drops, and they should be able to do what they want with them. As far as progression raiding is concerned, it still isn't anywhere near as significant of an advantage as having that much time to raid every week in the first place. I want to agree that how people actually use the legacy gear shouldn't matter, however, there is a small problem this creates. The game developers have specific expectations about how quickly a player should be able to gear up within a particular tier of gear. If Legacy gear is allowed to let players shorten this time span significantly, then the devs will balance around it and reduce the number of drops and/or comms that are awarded when a boss is killed. This would lead to legacy gear being required in order to maintain spots on competitive raid teams and shut out a lot of good players simply for not having legacy gear or the alts to support this method of gearing. Every good raider knows that skill > gear, but that has never once stopped a good raider from being passed over on raid nights for someone who has more gear.
