Are we going to get any cartel coins for compensation since this has been a ongoing problem with the server? It's ridiculous how this keeps happening yet y'all do nothing to give us our time back. I've only been playing this game for 3months and with all the bugs n stuff I keep seeing i'm determined to quit playing and go back to the game i came from where it's more stable and if you have a problem and called technical support they actually resolve your issues even if it's a in-game issue. I know lots of other people are starting to get pissed at y'all also since this seems to be happening a lot here lately. Please give us something for compensation which knowing it I bet y'all will say screw the community and not give us a damn thing.

Well I know what your requesting is not going to happen ;) however I think we can all agree that Bio didn't do this to just piss all of us off on a Saturday night and WILL be fixing it ASAP. And to be honest.. played wow longer then I 'd like to admit... and the server I played on for a thousand years had it's problems from time to time.. And you know what? I got over it :)

I remember playing Tribes 2 when the server was a laptop in a closet somewhere and never had this much trouble. It seems like entropy, the more complicated things get the more there is to break.

Absolutely. While we're well beyond the days of hosting enterprise applications off a laptop, the cardinal rule of systems design is to avoid making things more complex than they need to be.

Well not to be a stick in the mud on your post...however our server has a long history of problems...and put this outage on a Saturday night, when most people (like me) can play... its a problem :(

imagine that plus constant maintenance on your prime time(i'm australian), how frustrated you'd be

I know what you mean. I came from dark age of camelot and I'm really tempted to return there again. This is the 3rd mmorpg game I've actually played within my 8yrs of playing mmorpg games online on a pc. I've never seen a game where they lack communication when problems like this occurs. On dark age of camelot if something like this happens they immediately get on the forums and let the community know what's going on and how long they expect the server(s) to be down for along with updates while waiting so the community knows exactly what is going on instead of being left in the dark. They need to start focusing on what "the community" wants instead of what they want otherwise this game is bound to die off eventually. But I doubt if they'll give us anything like I said in my previous post. But who knows they could prove us wrong which I highly doubt lol.

haha i didnt even realize, I saw an am timestamp and it didnt register in my mind that forums are GMT. My sincere apologies. However, it is rather infuriating that this is the first chance i have had to relax today and this happens. Guess i will go make a new toon somewhere.

I only just learned how to fix this tonight because they've got the setting that affects forum timestamps buried somewhere not forum related.

Go to "My Account" under the "My SWTOR" header. Click on "Contact Information". There is a field on that page for time zone. I had to look it up to see that my time zone (Arizona) is apparently supposed to be GMT-7, but when I tried that it was an hour off (still many hours closer to correct than it had been, but still would have been annoying) so I changed it to GMT-8 instead. Figure out what you need to set yours to and you should be able to get it to display times that line up with your time zone.

And I bet y'all gave us nothing to compensate the downtime again like usual.
1) The EULA to which you agreed states that they owe you nothing for down time.

2) 24 hours of subscription time costs at most 50 cents.

That's a little over 2 cents an hour.

Given that less than 2 hours passed between the OP and the server coming back up, I suggest you write a letter to BioWare and insist that they refund you the 4 cents.

Some people are just way too entitled.

How about you do it for me with your smart remarks. It never hurts to try because you never know. But good day because I'm not gonna feed your trolls. So just go away and do your thing and I shall do mine.

Whenever they do maintenance in my state in AU (NSW) it's always around 7-8pm (our prime time) till quite late and during the working week which is the only time a lot of get to play if we work during the day and after big updates these maintenance can sometimes be once every two days! I can't believe the sever goes down in US prime time for less than 2hrs and some people are acting like it's the end of the world and that they deserve compensation :p

Thanks, now I'll actually be able to see when posts were made according to my time.
