Here's a few thoughts: 1 - You should be using orange gear in every slot you can (relics, implants, and earpieces being the only exceptions) 2 - CT can make armoring and mods for all of those slots (9 out of 14) 3 - CT can make earpieces as well AFAIK, there is no other crafting skill out there that has a bigger impact on the gear you use.
