It really is as bad as they are saying. Just /who the arenas. You will find maybe 8-16 people in all of them combined. Take a look at the last time the leaderboards updated, last time the top guy q'd and most of the top 100 was around the 10th or the 11th of this month. Arenas flat out died.

I always tell people in general chat to queue solo rank.

They never listen :(. They too scared or something.

I do the same thing. Then i tab out for 30 minutes and see im still in queue, log, and wonder why I still play this game.

I think people are lazy or are in bad guilds.

100's of people pvping and you meaning to tell me not many q pops for 4 man arena isn't happening?

Sounds like bad guild leaders across the board and bad communication across the board.

I think people are too scared to lose. :(

I still think they should have had a 3rd Tier for PvP.

Tier 1: Amateur warzones in which you get maximum bolster. This is for players who have PvE only or beginning to grind their 55 PvP sets. No restrictions for joining and it yields only regular comms. Same dailies that we have apply for this tier.

Tier 2: Unfanked warzones - warzones in which you get minimal bolster. It still helps out by leveling the playing field but now you are relying more on gear than bolster. This should have a minimum unbolstered expertise restriction of idk...1800 or so. So only those with 1800 or higher unbolstered expertise can enter these. In other words they would have had full Conqueror gear and are now looking for Obroan. These warzones yield ranked comms and we have second dailies that can be the same missions as unranked save that they yield ranked comms.

Tier 3: Ranked warzones - warzones in which there is no bolster. None at all. No Min/Maxing is your problem not ours. In these you fight with some of the best. You fight for ratings and all of the marbles. Expertise restriction can be 2018 so you must have full PvP gear or it can be close to it. We should probably do 2018 so PvEers don't use any of their gear. Since everyone has the most gear you don't really need comms to drop from these but they can so people can min/max more. These should give players a lot more money though since they'd deserve it.

This is just a thought but it would give people initiative to do ranked instead of not because they worry about their rating.

Actually all they NEED to do to incentivize ranked play is:

1) Completely separate ranked and unranked comms. You can only earn ranked comms through ranked play--no conversions, no unranked daily/ weekly rewards.

2) Offer the same daily/ weekly as unranked for ranked, but reward ranked comms instead.

3) Eliminate bolster from ranked.

4) Offer titles for rating AS PLAYERS EARN RATING, instead of after the season. To make it more competitive, players need to maintain rating to maintain title.

Might not make it more competitive, but it would most likely increase the number of people who queue.

And yes I realize I'm just some random.

Problem with this still is rating. I want my ranked comms, but in all honesty I'd bury a big hole through solo ranked groups just to get there. The benefit of the 3 tiers is that I'm not risking wonderful rating for my ranked comms.

The thing that is the problem as well is most of these kids don't have a competitive bone in their body.

I could bet over 90% of these clowns leave warzones and want instant gratification at 55, don't want to work for nothing and want carried.

Hell it even shows in low levels, I'm starting to think some of the 55's that have been doing arena are rerolling to stay away from 55 cause they are so bad at 55.

I was of afraid of that when SWTOR decided to bring arena, this game has too many catered features for a competitive structure like arena.

1. No penalty means arena cant work for pvp period, you give the babys what they want.

2. No incentives besides gear, you need to give more.

3. Bolster (are you *********** joking bioware, bolster at 55?)

4. Only 4 vs 4 is repetitive, you need some 2 vs 2 and maybe some 6 vs 6, hell give some flavor to the koolaid.

I blame people for this problem though, arena is there for people to do and its people that isn't playing.

They scared little babys that don't want farmed by good players, and would rather go into a 8 vs 8 regstar warzone instead of dealing with a competitive 4 that will beat you 99% of the time.

Bottom line, its this lazy community of clowns that ruins pvp in this game, but sure biware should of never took ranked 8 out.

Arenas are fine, competition is fine, the player pool is just too small. If there were enough players for matchmaking to work correctly, I think things would be fine and dandy.

If they released arenas with launch, it'd be a much different story on so many levels. But people who wanted to play PvP competitively mostly all quit the moment they delayed the release of ranked 8v8. And trust me, I knew a lot of people who quit that very day (e.g. The entirety of the good players in Dara Mactire).

New teams shouldn't be starting out playing top teams. There should be a learning/confidence gaining phase. We don't have that because the pool is too small.

I mean 100's of people standing around with a finger in a butt, and regstar warzones popping means a few things.

I agree sure the player pool of the game is low, but there is TONS of people not queing cause,

1. Not geared

2. Anti-soical

3. In a guild that sucks (which might be the theme for 90% of the guilds on the Bastion, the leader is some 12 year old that wants guild meetings on DK instead of prepping for arena)

4. SCARED

5. Has no idea where to begin.

I am not 55 so sure I have not been around long enough to figure everything on what the hell is going on, but it almost feels like people are more scared or hates arena cause they hate to lose like some spoiled brat.

Too many pvpers have egos and once they meet another alpa pvper excuses happen and all sudden no action.

I can't see it being a low pvp pool problem, far as skill sure I do believe in that 5% pool of elitist skills.

You could always split up the players sort of like a draft.

Sure rating gets put at risk. But if everyone is doing it, its an almost equal risk.

Give people a night to play. If they don't show improvement after a handful of games, then drop them and pick up someone else.

Works for the NFL, it could work here.

We actually did that lots for ranked 8v8, believe it or not.

Didn't work out in the long run, as we can all see from the current state of things. At the end of the day, people wanna play with their friends and compete to be the best more than they want to escort little Charlie on his tour through the Chocolate Arenas.

I like your idea, but I believe if you ever want to be good then you need to play and get your *** handed to you until you can't stand it nomore.

I played arena in warcraft from tbc to cata, and I had massive trouble most of my time through tbc until I found some guys and we all sudden became like one.

Even then from a 1200 rating to 2k rating I still needed to learn there was a whole new skill level where 2k players was another stepping stone, and 2600 was the 5%.

My point is there is way to many lazy babys with egos in this game, and bioware allows them to leave warzones and arenas, not to mention gives players bolster so they dont get roflstomped by better geared players.

You could throw even incentives to these kids, and soon as a alpha team beats them they will go back to a level 10 alt and play regstar warzones cause they dont want to deal with 55 content where being perfect in a organized fashion means something.

It's a different ballgame when all the teams are either 1200 rating or 2600 rating and it's a barren wasteland in between.
