Almagnus
Since I have a fairly custom keybinding set up (in addition to all the other settings), is there any way to easily copy the bindings and settings to an alt? Or must I do everything manually? Also, is there any way to reliably bind to the number pad?
dmarkd
I can't confirm whether keybindings are stored there or not as I'm at work, but under Windows 7/Vista you can check the .ini files here: C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\SWTOR\swtor\settings There you'll find an ini file with your character name in it, which may contain the settings you'd like to copy over to another character. Dralnalak
I routinely copy over the settings files from one character to another. I'm an altaholic. Unfortunately, keybinds do not copy. Those are server side and have to be done manually. Additionally, sometimes when I change servers, it ignores the existing character profile and creates a new one. I realized this after having problems switching between my Empire characters on one server and Republic characters on another. You will note that there is a number before your character name in the settings file. I realized that the game was creating the new default settings file for the Empire characters with the same number as for the Republic server; this happened the other way around once too. I solved this by creating two copies of every character's settings, one for each server. When creating a new character, I find I have to exit completely from the game, copy over the set data, and then log back in from scratch. Unlike some MMOs, simply logging out does not help. If you put anything in the settings file that the game doesn't like, it puts you back to default. I found this out when trying to move the chat size up higher than 18. Cryptor
This would be a great option to offer in the UI to copy all settings from character to character including keybinds and any future macros.
WEBVAZ
omg key bindings are server side??? at least make them apply to the entire account then, how do they expect us to play many alts like they want us to when they make it so difficult to configure each char. This is going to be extremely handy info. Does this also change chat colors? I'm assuming that's what the top options are with the hex codes... I sort of hijacked the chat colors from WoW (because I'm so damn used to it) but hate the idea of having to change it on ALL my characters.
