What are good rotations and ways to do good DMG quickly? Also can another vanguard tell me if they have been getting over 6k crits and how. I have been trying but with no luck.

If your referring to live 6k is what you should get if your geared, This is assumption that your referring to PvP if its PvE then 6k is totally attainable with higher end raiding gear.

 

For getting good Damage quickly (burst) you want to open with IP for PC dot then HiB then shockstrike > IP for HiB proccing. Assault Plastique can also be thrown in there for some time delay burst plus extra dot.

 

If your going for sustained damage you want to keep all your dots up on target as much as possible, this includes Incendiary (never use if your not near max ammo)

This is almost right. Starting with IP is not an optimized burst rotation on the off-chance you proc ionic accelerator, which then throws off your HiB. Ideally you apply your PC DoT with Hammer Shot, then HiB, then SS or IP (hoping for a proc) then free HiB.

 

So...HS (assuming a PC Proc), HiB,SS/IP, HiB (potential for 4GCDs and two HiBs)

vs.

IP,HiB,SS,HiB (if IA doesn't proc on first IP)

vs

IP,HiB, attack, attack, SS, IA-HiB (potentially 6, if IA does proc on first IP)

 

Of course RNG is king though.

I found IR - > HIB -> IP -> HIB is a good starting rotation. Sometimes you need two IPs after your first HIB, but you will always get it on your second IP. If the fight starts from 30m you can HS -> HIB -> <should have ran within range to do an IP> IP - > IR - > HIB and so on.

 

The 4 GCD rule is pretty simple to follow. It takes some time to memorize, but once you do you almost never have ammo management issues and you will proc your HIB every 6 to 6.5 seconds. A good idea to parse a few minutes and take the total time of your parse and divide it by the number of your HIB's to see if you are following a decent rotation. If you have more than 7.5 seconds, you are consistently wasting an entire GCD.

 

Also, 6K shots should be pretty common in PVE. In a mix of 69/72 gear, my largest hit is 7500ish. I bet that a VG with the 8% bonus to HIB damage, along with stacking only power should probably break 8.5K in PVE with a relic proc and clicky in use.
