Slarn - Operative - Lethality - 3/7/36 - 2764.6

Oops, linked the wrong post, fixed now*

nice parse but during the fight sometimes there are Damageskills like "Weak Corrosive Dart (Tech)" or "Weak Corrosive Grenade (Tech)". He uses Lingering Toxins ... but at the end it looks like the parse is manually shortened because there are no weaker versions of dart and grenade. Info: The weaker versions deal only 15% of the original version - 9 seconds!!! So I miss 9 sec. at the end of the log - Cheating?

I will post my parse, just to show, completely and unchallenged, that I am the BEST DPS ASSASSIN AROUND!

(There. If that doesn't get some serious dps assassins coming in to upstage me, then it's because there are no more serious dps assassins.) For the record, I am a biochem, used reusable stims and adrenals for this, and also used force shroud to end the fight a second or two early. I need all the help I can get. I will try to get a Deception parse as well, in a little bit.

Question / suggestion for the OP. I know this is a lot more to ask, but would you be down for expanding the lists to the different specs? I only ask this because there are going to be certain specs that fill up the top 5 for each AC and it would be helpful for people who don't necessarily want to play those specs to see what the potential is for their spec.

If you did this, you may have to cut it down from top 5 to maybe like a top 2 or 3 or something unless you don't mind the lists to be really long. Also, to shorten the lists, you could make the "name-spec-dps" line itself the link to the parse instead of having a subtitle.

Just some thoughts :)

Cropping the ending was explicitly allowed in the rules set by the original post.

:jawa_confused: Snipers are in the same boat......especially with Orbital...................and not to mention Engineering spec that favors more then 1 target. Come on man,..........................................................

I don't know snipers tbh however i do know if you wanted to parse your highest as a sorc in madness spec you wouldn't do what you do in a operation or you'd go force negative.

I just find parsing dumb in general there are little no to fights that require zero mobility and seems counter productive to me.

Also to achieve the highest parse you'd use the non reusable stim/adrenal and the broken relics.

The point of these threads is to see what the threshold for single target dps is. That is all, not monkeying around with what is the best possible scenario or what actually happens within a fight.

I get really annoyed when troll's bag on dummy parses. If you don't want to be part of it, move along.

It's sad that this needs to be explained to people like yourself, but hereyago....

All (at least PVE) of the top notch dps players spend a lot of time on the dummy, it programs muscle memory, increasing reaction time when more elements/distractions are thrown at you in raid situations. It's like taking batting practice if you play baseball, shooting hundreds of 3 pointers at the end of practice, or Saturday's gameplan walkthrough right before NFL Sunday. Sure come game time, everything's faster pace and you can't just sit there doing the same thing over and over, but dummy's are a convenient way to get reps in, make little tweaks to rotations and see what works better in certain situations.

This thread is to see what different classes can do on a single target, using only their own buffs, when spec'd /geared optimally etc. It levels the playing field so to speak. It's up to people who read through them to understand what advantages are gained by each class when they hit raid scenario's.

Makes sense, apologies, I wouldn't say all however.

Parsing on a dummy can only help you. You'll never get worse at dps by practicing in a controlled environment. Of course certain fights have mechanics you can use to get more damage in that particular fight, but perfecting a normal single-target rotation is important too. Edited by namesaretough

You can use your parse and compare it to another person's parse on dummy. You can see what he did differently in terms of single target rotation and find out why he had the DPS than he did. You can apply what you have learned in a raid setting and from there you try to beat your own record.

At least that's my perspective on things.

You can look at the glass half empty, but a little change in perspective and you can see that it's actually half full.

That's why different parses for different specs would be really awesome OP! :) I'd like to see MM dummy parses because it is my worst spec :(

I'm going to wait to update this until the issue with 2x SA Relics have been addressed. According to dev posts its an unintended feature and will be removed coming 2.1.1. This is going to cause a problem with some parses as they've been using a feature no longer available and as such I'm afraid I'm going to have to remove them.

Doing this would require a lot of work considering several classes (Vanguards/Powertech and Sage/Sorcerer at least) have hybrids which also are used frequently and in some cases may be the optimal spec for that class. Sorting out a system there could be quite exhausting.

Also I'd need a lot more help than I have now as I can't actually check the validity of every spec and every class as I'm not 100% versed in what all abilities are named, etc.

Its a grand idea but the implementation would be a lot of hassle.

No worries, I know it would be a lot of work so i don't blame ya. Dammit Gyronamics you spoiled us on the PTS :p

Nope :) I have my hands full with my own SWTOR projects otherwise I would. You do it!

If you want this thread to catch on you'll need to start pulling parses from separate server's leader boards. As it stands, The Harbinger has Sniper, Jugg, Operative, Marauder, and Sorc parses that are well above anything I've seen here or on other server's leaderboards. You can check the rules I've put up for The Harbinger, and I'll personally guarantee the validity of any parse listed on those boards so you don't have to spend time validating them (and after 2.1.1 comes I'll have parses with double relic procs marked with an asterisk as well).
