  1. I promise noone is back to test new content. It's merely a coincidence that a bunch of people who quit due to a lack of content are all subscribed at the moment, don't read anything into it. Edit: Plus, like someone said above, even if we were back to test things talking about it at all would certainly break an NDA (which doesn't exist because we aren't testing things).
  2. Thanks for the kind words and making justin try to make me pick which of my favorite guilds I liked more
  3. It may not have been clear but I agree with this. My ego isn't nearly big enough to assume I'm the best that ever was and no one in the future will ever be as good as me
  4. There will be new top guilds. It's easy to say "they won't be as good!" and I'm sure if I'm not around raiding I'll be shaking my head and going "these jokers are killing stuff first?!?", but whoever was on top at level 50 must have looked at our groups in ROTHC doing SV/TFB the same way. There's always been turnover at the top of this game, in both PVP and PVE, but someone new always comes along to test the content, write the guides and stream the raids. Raiding isn't dead, progression isn't dead, it's just another wave of people realizing this game isn't meant for them and moving on.
  5. Declining population and how easy it is to level mirror classes means a lot of top raiders have consolidated to the same faction. It's just easier. Most people I talk to who was around for the last 12x who used to play pub made sure they had at least one imp of their favorite classes leveled during that event, I assume that trend will continue after 12x comes back. A handful of the guilds that have killed revan so far are pub, definitely more than 1, but it certainly isn't 50% of the clears. Most top people are willing to server transfer or reroll to a new server as well at this point, the raiding population isn't large enough for "server firsts" to carry much meaning anymore.
  6. You don't get stacks or damage if you have shroud up. It makes you immune to heave and aberration damage too.
  7. I never thought I'd see the real DJNume post again
  8. Grats to Hates You and Exit Area on 16m Revan, and everyone else with new kills. 16m progression has been dead since NiM DF. Sad but true. Depending on your definition since long before then, to be honest. Heck, as far back as NiM SV the devs put in a 16m-only boss that only 1-2 guilds even put serious time into trying. It's certainly due to a combination of performance issues, lack of incentive, and poor balancing, but it's just not a format that's had any sort of progression competition since NiM DF, or a reasonable clearance rate since SV. Even as far back as NiM TFB there was a month+ gap between first and second clears.
  9. It doesn't have to be particularly strict, an 11-12min one would be fine. Either that or a soft enrage encouraging leaving Cora's room after both bosses are dead is needed for nightmare, though. Sitting around for 8+min to combat rez group members is an issue.
  10. The need for a hard enrage is tied to the auto-group rez when someone finishes the floor 2-3 jump. Without a hard enrage you could make floor 1/2 take as long as you wanted because you lost 1-4 dps and you would just have them all back at the start of floor 3. You either need an enrage or you need to do away with the mass rez. WTB hard enrage on the full Coratanni fight, btw. Being able to sit around between phases to regen is a shame.
  11. No, it's to improve uptime because you ignore the pulls... it's not the "stress" of the mechanic, it's the ability to trivialize it and dps instead.
  12. Mathematically, by deciding which set of assumptions you agree with.
  13. I'm saying that you can't min-max by looking at logs because you'll never have perfect execution. That's why I said "I certainly see the value in academic comparisons of incoming damage based on gear, but healer feedback/logged dtps is a really unreliable way to judge the relative merit of stat distributions." The 10dtps difference is going to be totally lost in fight-to-fight changes.
  14. I wasn't criticizing your execution, I was just using that as an example of being unable to tell from a fight parse which gear loadout is better. Even how you spiky you feel is going to be almost exclusively dependent on execution over gearing. I'm not in here trying to tell you how to live your life though, you just do you
  15. Not to be difficult, but I'm pretty sure with the same quality of execution your healers wouldn't be able to tell the difference between any of these 4 gear stat distributions (the three you're averaging and your average). The variation of incoming damage is far more dependent on executing mechanics and RNG than these slight differences in stat weights. Frankly, you could probably swap 500 points around in your revan gearing distribution and your total dtps difference would be totally wiped out by timing saber reflect a tiny bit better (or the attack timings being friendlier) and catching a single extra cleave with it. I certainly see the value in academic comparisons of incoming damage based on gear, but healer feedback/logged dtps is a really unreliable way to judge the relative merit of stat distributions. For perspective, if you see a 1% change in damage taken on a fight where you're taking 1500 dtps (which as far as I can tell is a larger change than the difference in any of these stat weights), it's a 15dtps difference. That's 9000 damage total in a 10 minute fight (like revan or coratanni).
  16. I'm almost positive every class has cleared revan hm in a guild-first group in each role it's capable of. The only one I don't know about is mara, actually, although I'm pretty sure the lack of maras is at least partly attributed to the amount of players who stopped playing the class after the 3.0 changes. They're certainly all "viable" in a progression setting. The issue is the difference between "viable" and "optimal" (which isn't helped by the number of people in progression guilds who say "viable" or "viable for progression" when they mean "optimal for progression"). Everything is viable. The problem is one base class is clearly optimal for revan, which has strongly biased the community above and beyond the general melee unfriendliness of the new operations.
  17. What does this mean exactly?
  18. At least 2 have killed it on 8m, maybe more. Noodles did fine damage and wasn't a carry, idk what Colin did on the core. You're no more a carry on a mara than any non-BH. Yes the leap thing is annoying and should be fixed, but it doesn't mean you can't kill the core on it.
  19. There's no NDA or expectation of secrecy for the normal PTS.

Two comments that have little to do with stat weights: Unless I'm blind there's no way to reach some of those shield values. The upper cap for shield in 198s should be 1928. and I think you mean "less than". I haven't looked through the details, those are just two things that jumped out at me.
  21. I don't think anyone's done it with 0 though. Not that I have any interest in trying it, way better to just get a kill then try to do it with a screwy comp for bragging rights imo.
  22. Still have a couple spots in our weekly Crest of the Dread Masters run Thursday at 6:00 pdt! http://zorzz.enjin.com/gearsale
