Has anybody tried both roles? I am on the verge of changing my sorc healer into a hyrbrid. I only heal and was wondering does the healing number go down or does it stay around the same? I really like the bubble stun and root. I think this will be give me better cc in pvp, but I am a healer and don't want my healing to go down. Can somebody with experience on this help me. Thank you!!!!

The bubble stun isn't worth it at all. Just gives you even less control over filling resolve bars. Bindings and effusion are worthwhile to have, as is the extra utility of being able to do some serious burst aoe damage in a pinch if you team needs just a little DPS to wipe a node. With effusion/subversion and some well timed attacks you can get pretty close to the infinite force rotation while doing impressive healing.

As someone who specced into hybrid 21/18/2 the day 1.2 came out, when 1.4 came out after about 2 warzones I specced back into full 31/7/2. I feel like the new overload reduces the escape utility of electric bindings, and unnatural preservation makes infinite force signficantly easier to maintain if you are free casting, and of course it makes survivability much better to the point that the extra survivability of the lightning tree is negligible. I've healed 900k in a rwz as hybrid, so you don't lose a lot of healing if you know what you are doing. But now with fadeout and unnatural preservation you simply want more points in the consumption tree for maximum escapability and self healing.

tl;dr: I was one of the first to really push for the hybrid as a viable spec for pure healers on my server, and I don't feel like it hurt my healing output much in 1.2 and 1.3. But in 1.4, we are given enough tools in our bars to get away from damage and spec more into healing.

hybrid I used for PVP for 1.2/1.3:

hybrid I would use now, if I were to do it:

http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#201GhMkrdMzZf0rMbMMZ0M.2

current spec:

http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#201GuMRrdMdGzZf00MZ0M.2

I'm fully min/maxed WH gear, 1288 expertise, 2011 willpower with rakata stim, 613 power (669 bonus healing), 194 crit (36% crit chance with legacy ia buff), 319 surge (76.8 crit multiplier), 213 alacrity (6.93%). I also have WH offhand armorings in two pieces of PVE gear to get PVP static barrier debuff and PVE innervate cd reduction (which made a massive difference in my healing output, I recommend that for sure).
