  1. 10/10, will be on the lookout for more content from OP
  2. Yep. OP, don't use that much alacrity. I did run a build for jokes with 0 crit and maxed out alacrity back in 6.x as leth and it was hilarious. I think I had a few games above 10k dps but overall it's just not worth the dps loss.
  3. Some serious revisionist history here. Expertise resulted in horrible PVP imbalance in regs and sometimes team ranked (had to be careful swapping gear from PVE). Players with no expertise or recruit gear getting absolutely blown up. At least now if a newbie joins PVP they only get blown up from skill imbalance rather than gear issues. When I came back to the game last month, I was able to be competitive and have fun in min max 306 with 286 augs. That wouldn't have been possible before 'modern' bolster. Players getting an advantage from gaming the system is nowhere near as bad for overall play as the situation before. I feel like a dotted up AP PT (basically continuously taking small crit hits) in a game with multiple healers is definitely capable of these numbers.
  4. In the ops room did they show the players logging out right away because of the incredibly obvious, game-breaking bugs? Do they have an ops room where they show the massive drop in players since release? Or is that just for the next EA earnings call where they announce the end of SWTOR after this failed attempt to console-ify it down to 10 buttons?
  5. A thread posted over a week after the launch of one of the most embarrassing product releases I've seen in gaming is not throwing anyone a bone. They launched the "expansion" with multiple serious, game-breaking, widespread bugs and removed content from the game more than they added to it. When my keybinds reset for the second time 5 minutes after logging in on launch day, I logged out and gave up. I don't care if they fixed that with a "hotfix" a day later - the fact that it made it into the game despite being reported on the PTS is astounding. I've been a sub since launch, only taking a break for 2 years when my twins were born the day after 3.0 launched. Haven't logged in since, and my play time runs out in about 7 days. To come in here 10 days later with a whiny post about toxic commentary and still no date for actual fixes just shows even more how little this company cares about their community. Ban people who are calling for physical harm, no one cares if you do that. Don't come here with a sob story to deflect real criticism.
  6. I have no idea what you're talking about with expertise and the old progression system. In 6.x, anyone could be competitive in PVP as long as they had the right tactical even without a set bonus. Occasionally you'd see true baby seals with defense stats on a DPS character, of course. But even someone in all 270 gear without set bonus could contribute as long as they had the correct tactical for their class/spec. With expertise, you'd have people who would join WZs with mismatched gear where they mixed expertise mods with non-expertise and had less than optimal expertise, which bolster wouldn't fix since it didn't calculate down to the mod/enhancement level, just at the gear slot. I can't recall the exact expertise max (let's say 1900), but you'd have someone with 900 expertise because they weren't geared properly to take advantage of bolster getting absolutely lit up. Expertise gear just isn't possible with the way all content is bolstered now. It's just crazy at this point that they don't just get rid of gear entirely for PVP, everyone has the same stats, and you get to pick your set bonus/legendary item/tactical or whatever and that's it. PVP rewards only cosmetic items and mats for crafting. Problem solved.
  7. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that this response is the single most embarrassing thing I've ever read on the forums. Why do you keep coming up with new ways to tell us you don't know how to play the game?
  8. I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic here. He did explain how conc roll is countered very succinctly. Maybe in addition to remedial math you have problems with reading English? There's no shame in being a new reader, this forum is open to the globe and we don't discriminate based on language skills.
  9. Your math is quite a bit off, and your argument is incredibly simplistic. Conc ops can be immune for 2.9 seconds every 7 seconds assuming tier 1 alacrity and rolling on GCDs (Roll 1 (1.4s) -> roll 2 (1.5s)). However, they lose DPS doing this because they are losing ~2.8s where they are unable to use any attacking abilities. If you have a conc op pressured to the point that they are losing two GCDs out of every 4-5, they are going to do almost no damage to you or your team. They are a spec designed for 1v1 combat. Just don't engage with them. People keep telling you this, on every one of your embarrassing threads, and you continue to embarrass yourself.
  10. The apex predator specs for PVP are AP PT and immortal jugg, but there are always the morons who come into this idiot's threads and complain about the mythical 31/31/31 spec operatives. As much as this game desperately needs players, idiots who think conc op is a problem should hit Win+X, down arrow, enter, then find Star Wars The Old Republic and click "uninstall."
  11. When you say "FPS drops - unplayable" is the game coming to a screeching halt in warzone instances, like actually 0 FPS for multiple seconds? If so, you might be experiencing a bug with your sound driver. I've found if you connect a USB sound device after SWTOR has started, you will get this unplayable lag in game until you completely restart. It happens for me if I connect my SoundblasterX X5 USB sound card after SWTOR starts. It's also happened for me when i connect an HDMI sound device after the game starts. For some reason it does not happen with the USB dongle for either of my headsets (Razer and Logitech). Other than the soundcard, even with a pretty legit PC you'll get drops down to about 25 FPS in warzone - my i5 10600k + GTX 1650 Super drops that low despite low GPU utilization, and my laptop with a Ryzen 7 5800H and RX 6700M also drops to around 20-25 FPS in really heavy cleave. Kinda funny that I can run Crysis Remastered in "Can it Run Crysis?" mode (with ray tracing off) at double the FPS i get in SWTOR.
  12. I'd be all for this as an option and I think most people would. The absolute best games are when there's a large group in discord and we all get into the same match on different teams. Maybe you should try making some friends.
  13. You're never gonna get a dev response, of course it's been the same since 1.2: Voidstar (snip) In the case of both teams reaching the same objective in their respective attacking rounds, the team who reached the objective in the shortest time now wins the match. The game now ends as soon as the Round 2 attacker's progress exceeds the progress made by the other team in Round 1. (snip) https://www.swtor.com/patchnotes/1.2.0/legacy The thing not clear here is that it doesn't include the bridges or forcefields in the time calculation. If only first door and bridges are capped, whoever capped the first door first wins. If second door and forcefields are capped, whoever capped the second door first wins. You can tell this is the way it works by how the game behaves if the Round 2 attacking team caps the first door slower than the R1 attackers, but then caps the bridges very quickly. The game continues until the end of timer or second doors are capped. If the doors never get capped, R1 team will get the W. If no doors are capped, it's whoever gets most kills.
  14. You're kinda complaining about two different things. We're in agreement that the tech frag cap was an awful thing in 6.x. Another way to look at it with the fluctuating market prices for your items is that any credits you have in your bank during those periods are fluctuating in real value at the same time. If one day you can buy an item for 1 billion credits, and the next 100 million, that means your credits got more valuable in that time, as well. I think that example is a bit extreme, personally (it sounds like the real value is somewhere closer to 100 mil, but there are some sellers who list at the GTN cap as part of a scam to catch mis-clicking buyers or credit farmers). The fact remains that if you are given an RPM by Bioware instead of 30 million credits, that means that in order to get 30 million credits from it you have to get another player to agree to use credits that are already in the game. Since more credits aren't being added to the game, the value of credits isn't decreasing due to a mission reward.
  15. Why would a Win 10/11 limitation be a problem for bioware? It's not like it would be a mandatory change, so it wouldn't be cutting the lights off for users still using EOL windows versions (shudder). of course when this necro originally was posted there were probably a lot more users running win 7 But the example was mainly that if trusted computer relationships are good enough to not require constant MFA prompts for enterprise computing where millions of dollars are at stake, it shouldn't be a barrier to bioware doing a simple hardware hash/cookie based system that a user can enable to reduce the number of prompts during sign-in. Personally I wouldn't enable it for myself, but I could see why someone who lives alone would want it. And while I think development cost is the primary reason it will never get done, that doesn't mean I think bioware should spend resources on this when there's so much else that can be done. side thread: I also used to run a domain at home, for much the same reason. Eventually I realized that I never need to log into my wife's mac so I don't need the extra steps when MS accounts on windows 10 machines do the same thing. Heck, even freenas supports MS accounts now, I think.
  16. While I don't expect bioware to implement MS 365/Azure AD level security into a 10 year old MMO on life support, I can log into almost any computer in my company and not be prompted for MFA as long as it's a trusted client. There's no technical reason something like Windows Hello couldn't be used to reduce the need for a TOTP code in the game - just $$$ for development
  17. You're definitely not understanding the intent of my post, or even the intent of giving OEM/RPM mats as rewards. If you sell those mats for credits, you are profiting from credits that are already in the game rather than having new credits created and given to you. That does not contribute to inflation, and in fact balances out credits from those who currently have them and those who need them. If you're sitting on a huge stack of OEM and RPM mats, you're basically stealing from yourself. They'll be worthless eventually. You should sell them while they have value.
  18. This is 100% not true. You can definitely be matched up on the same team as players who have you on ignore, at least in PVP. I believe you are correct about PVE group finder.
  19. Seems like the easiest fix is to stop providing credits for most mission/chest/conquest/etc rewards, and instead provide a mat that is required for endgame crafting and cannot be sold to vendors. With less money being introduced into the economy, prices for certain items might increase but they won't increase across the board. Then introduce credit sinks for vanity unlocks to syphon some of that money out of the game. It will take some time, but it will eventually fix the problem.
  20. Net itself isn't broken. Hinder overall is broken when chained. For many classes there is no counter to being chain netted or to a lesser extent gored. Simple solution: any time a player is hindered, grant them a buff that prevents being hindered for the length of the cooldown of the ability that hindered them. This won't affect 1v1s at all, but prevents teams of multiple mercs from using the ability on the same target.

It's just silly at this point that they haven't added ranked choice 'voting' when you queue.
  22. 4.8 ghz all cores on my 10600k and I get a minimum of 25 FPS in warzones when there are multiple engi snipers or lightning sorcs with stormwatch, at 1440p with a 1650 Super. Enabling hardware scheduling under windows graphics settings bought me an extra frame or two at the low end in SWTOR. Your FPS seem to be in line with what I'd expect. GPU basically doesn't matter in this game. My 1650 Super (and the 1660ti Max Q in my surface book 3) both can run this game at 4k at the same FPS as 1440p.
