Trinistyr
I am stuck. I can't figure out what class I want to play. I love high dmg dps, but I want something that isn't hard to learn as my first class so I can get a hang of the game and make some money then think i may make either sith assassin or sith marauder or unless they r easy and nothing is bugged with them ill start out with whichever is better for pvp at endgame and the most fun to play
Aurbere
I have played every class so if you want high dps gunslinger/sniper would one. Or you can go with a sentinel/marauder or if you want to be in easy mode the whole game, go with sage/sorceror.
cycao
Powertech arsenal spec has the highers burst potential in the game. Tank sins well everyone plays them in dps, deception can be fun but in team play it brings nothing to the table. Maras no question are a strong class but most say it has a high learning curve and can have a hard rotation (never played one but thats what they say). Snipers and GS can rain down DPS but can get eaten up if not played right. Id go with PT or vanguard. Edited May 30, 2012 by cycao

Personally, I'd go with a bounty hunter since you'll start out with a healer, which will make things easier at the beginning (I haven't started a warrior yet, so I'm not sure what they start with). TheBBP
High damage and easy to learn? Sounds like an Inquisitor/Sage to me.
DreamEagle
I say..for a first character, pick one of the healing classes but focus on the dps side of them. It gives you good dps and you have healing for survivability. When learning a new game this always seems to work for me. I too prefer being a high damage dps. I also prefer ranged so that makes the trooper/commando or consular/sage ( or the Imperial equivalents) the best choices for me. My only 50 is actually a BH/merc . I hope that helped some. If you prefer melee, which your post makes me think you do, then choose smuggler/scoundrel. Or since you seem to be Imperial focussed, Agent/operative. Just my 2 credits. Your mileage may vary. There's a decent chance that classes will have changed by the time you get there. Right now, pyro powertechs are very strong in PvP -- but that could easily change through nerfs and such. axka
Have you played other MMOs before? in that case, which ones? You should find a class similar to something you have a little experience with. Ex: If you used to play Mage in World of Warcraft you could try a Gunslinger/Sniper. If you used to play Warrior you should try a Jedi Knight/Sith Warrior. If you used to play priest, you should try a Sage/Sorc. This is to learn the basics of the game ofc. It's always better to learn with something familiar than with a whole new, strange class.
