To sum up: Yes, there is a dps drop if you switch to single saber. Whether that drop is significant enough to matter depends on your preference, ie are you a min/maxer, are you tank or dps spec'd, are you sentinel or guardian...a lot of factors to consider as to whether it noticeably affects you. Again, best advice I'd say is to try out the single saber with Kira and see if you can tolerate the reduced damage.
