1.2 Race and Class Combinations

I have found in preparations for 1.2 that it seems like your characters that have all ready been made and have hit level 50 are getting left behind.

Im saying this from and RP point of view. Sure, you can still get powers from other characters in your trees, but who cares? Your level 50!

My biggest problem i have is suddenly allowing new races to play classes.

(once again from and RP point of view)

That you can now play new class/race combos... but only if you have a character of that race to level 50. What about all of us who played Human Sith because we werent allowed to play Miraluka? We get nothing. because humans can allready be anything. And too play a Miraluka Jedi all the way to 50 just so you can play the Miraluka Sith that you wanted from the start seems really dumb.

Also, it will become glaringly obvious wich races people play the most. as i have a feeling that Sith Pureblood are going to be all over the place.

I personally think that we should be able to purchase racial changes or even name changes to start our RP characters 'right'. like they do in WoW.

What are some of your views on the sudden allowance of race/class combos. What are some of the pros and cons you see?

If you level a human to 50, you get a presence attribute to all of your characters, increasing your companions' effectiveness, and making it that much easier to level up quickly. Levelling a zabrak, that can also be anything, gives an endurance buff.

Pros: Cyborg Jedi, Miraluka Agent, Pureblood Smuggler.

Cons: People complaining about my Pureblood Smuggler.

If they would have allowed that in Cataclysm maybe I would have been able to save myself money because that is a terrible idea.

It's brilliant! Imagine this huge bull, in stealth, trying to sneak past you, while the earth shudders under his weight and you can hear the sound of his hooves from miles away :p

My main complaint is that I leveled two 50 Humans before there was ever even a mentioning that Legacy might unlock Races for other classes.

I now have all 4 Imperial classes leveled to 50 with 2 Humans, a Rattataki, and a Chiss. This will help me with my Republic side, but I can't help but think I have at least one wasted level 50 since I have two Humans.

The Cyborg Jedi sounds awesome. But what do you all think about being able to purchase a racial change or name change?

Me as a heavy Role-Player, I have a character named Thaiyan Luhnar. Originally trained as Jensaarai and struck out on his own in a vision quest. He is Miraluka and has a talent for using Force-Lightning without currupting himself. Obviously he uses these skills in heavy moderation because he knows and understands the draw of the darkside.

So when SWTOR came out, i made him (grudingly) a human Sith Inq, because i figured lightning was more important in his character since the races are mostly aesthetic. and i became an *** and reveled in killing Sith to support his character.

But now with all this racial changing stuff, i can make Miraluka Sith Inqs, and it not as simple as "making him again" with a differant name.

For all you heavy RPers, im sure you understand where i come from on this.

It would be awesome if i could change his name and start from scratch the "Real Thaiyan" or just pay to change his race directly.

I know WoW allows this. What do you guys think?

I'll be playing a Twe'lik trooper and Twe'lik operative. It's all about the color people :p

And you can buy race unlocks, it just costs a hell of a lot to do so.

Haha, i love Twi'leks myself. So where can you buy the race unlocks?

-sorry for the double post-

See... that right there is just encouraging me to complain.

Actually, I've been pimpsmacking Jorgan all morning. Called in today, so rolled my Trooper and finished Ord Mantell in record time. Those stacking buffs are NICE!

Yes, I was always planning to smack him upside the head since he feels the need to be a dingleberry during the Ord Mantell campaign. :p

I would love this, and i would race change my inquisitor to cyborg as well.

I've been wondering what would happen if you levelled a race/class combo to lvl 50 and delete the character. Would you still have the race unlocked? I asked this prior to 1.2 but the answers were just pure speculation.

Just wondering if anyone has already done this.

Thanks.

I'm actually pretty disappointed with the race unlocks. This whole time I was expecting Togrutas, Ithorians, Rodians, Nautolans, Calamari, and quite possibly some Zeltron. Instead I get a chiss jedi :/
