  1. I just want to say, that sounds like the greatest major EVER. Now, from a literary standpoint, Ishamael, or Elan Morin Tedronai, from the Wheel of Time series. He is a character so aware of the nature of the series he's in, that in order to cope with the stress of knowing, he intentionally drives himself insane, and he serves as the perfect example of what would happen should the hero of the story turn evil. Runners up are Lanfear and Demandred of the same series. From film, I'd have to hand it to Magneto of the X-Men film franchise, in part because of the acting talent of Ian McKellen, and partly because the character is just one that is so believable, from his motivations, to the delivery, to the fact that no matter how far he crosses the line, he still believes he's working for the good of everyone. Runners up: Darth Vader, Saruman, and the Joker (The Dark Knight version). From video games, Ganondorf of the Legend of Zelda franchise, with special mentions to Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess's depictions. No big revelations, just a big, classic villain out for power, but one that has stood above the rest in my mind, in part due to nostalgia, but also because of how, unlike other recurring villains like, say, Bowser of the Mario games, Ganondorf always feels like a serious threat, and when he makes his appearance, he feels imposing. Runners up: Darth Jadus of The Old Republic, Sovereign of Mass Effect, and Majora's Mask of the Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
  2. Especially true of the ones that are only used briefly.
  3. So much effort was put into places like the Dark Temple, the Sith Sanctum, the Dark Council Chamber, Lord Khreusis's Stronghold , and the various other bases and quest areas we've been to along the way. These are all key places where many roleplayers would WANT to be, where many of our characters would more naturally gravitate to. As it stands, we are either forced to gather in cantinas, which is a setting many of us disdain or simply do not find befitting of our characters, or to go out of our way to find what few areas aren't phased of, leading to scenarios were, as an example, we have to chose between having characters meet for official business on the capital world but in a hallway outside of an actual room, or in an actual office but on a planet in another sector of the galaxy entirely. Open up the phases, let us utilize these spaces for what they're meant for; developing our character's stories and Roleplaying.
  4. I agree, this is very much needed. The areas inside many of the phases are actually places characters would go to do things to work or discuss, whereas most of the rest of the worlds are pathways TO these phases.
  5. It took a couple of DAYS, instead of the promised hours, but it got through, the code worked, all's good. Unfortunately, I can't find the product appears to have been removed, so I can't repeat the process
  6. Because here onsite there's an annoying "You cannot do that now/Purchase Error" going around
  7. Personally, I'd stick to the class quests, but the main world story arcs are fun if it's your first time.
  8. The worst, to me, is on Korriban, dealing with Lord Renning and his apprentice. Lord Renning wants you to give him the brain of a mutant Tuka'ta to prove his theories about the Force correct. This is somehow a dark sided decision, despite no harm to anyone actually coming from his theories. His apprentice wants you to give the brain to her so she can make adjustments to the brain to "prove" her master is a fake so she can leave his service. This is somehow a light sided decision, despite the fact that she only wants to do this because she personally thinks Renning is wasting her time and talents, and you are tampering with a legitimate experiment
  9. I do this all the time. It's nice if you're sick of the world arcs for Taris/Balmorra.
  10. Am I the only one perturbed that the "Lead Writer" position has been passed around this many times already?
  11. This it utterly ridiculous. First of all, the Pre-50 bracket worked fine! What we SHOULD be seeing is a 10-49 / 50-54 / 55 division of brackets. Second of all, this is going to hurt a lot of people's play styles: For instance, when my guild mates get bored of the level 50 grind, we hop on our pre-50 characters for a bit of fun together. Problem? The level discrepancy that occurs because we level at different rates means now we can't do that together. Third, because they're effectively cutting an entire bracket in half, the earlier bracket will be DEAD. People won't be able to PvP much or at all until they hit thirty because of a LACK OF OTHER PLAYERS IN THAT LEVEL, after which point they'll be pitted up to as high as level 54s? Which, as has been discussed, will include a fair share of people wearing the pre-existing PvP gear.
  12. No, it's actually a PvE quest in a PvP zone. No objective states "You must kill X players." The objectives are strictly PvE style objectives, so no, it isn't "win trading", it's helping others get their objectives done so they can move on with the rest of the event. And, yeah, some people did want more World PvP, but how many asked for FREE FOR ALL PvP?
  13. I find nothing wrong with this, and here's why: It's not faction based. The game is forcing you to become hostile to even your own faction for the sake of a rather annoying quest. So if people can actually be reasonable and help one another out in-spite of the fact that everyone's a flagged enemy, great. If it were still Empire V Republic, I'd be more inclined to agree with you about how messed up it is for people to be aiding their enemies, but I'm not sure about you, but I never asked for a free-for-all.
  14. Was it too hard for Bioware to make separate titles for the Empire and Republic for the Fleet and Section X reputation? I was hoping my character could sport something cool, like "Hero of the Empire" or "Honorary Imperial Guardsmen", or something, but even lacking my specific hopes, why is it they insist on forcing the two sides to share titles? And it can't be because they don't want people on the Republic wearing the Imperial title or vise versa, because if they cared about that we wouldn't have Sith Purebloods flooding the Republic side. So what? Was it just two much effort to come up with four separate titles? The Gree and Voss get their own. Now, naturally, I can't speak for the entirety of the community, but I can speak for everyone I've spoken to about this thus far: We want titles unique to our faction for grinding our reputation!
  15. You can still hear the companions of your party when they trigger dialogue based on passing certain thresholds/locations, just not their combat banter.
  16. I hate the argument "The Empire has to lose anyway" because it undermines the most important part of any struggle: Tension. Just because in THREE THOUSAND YEARS the Empire is long gone doesn't mean they have to fall within our character's lifetimes or so one-sidedly for that matter. To do that is bad story telling because: 1) It would make the Empire not even a real threat and not worth dealing with, making the whole story worthless. 2) As a bi-faction MMO, the lack of any worth while victories makes those of us playing the Empire feel all of our efforts have been for nothing, and those on the Republic see the us as a joke. & 3) If the Republic wins within the span of the game's life/timeline, it's over. There's nothing to carry on. Sure, EVENTUALLY there's going to be no more Empire, but give this war more tug-of-war type wins/loses rather than hand everything to the Republic.
  17. Because in Beta, where most of the info was first consolidated, the Light/Neutral titles were reversed.
  18. I found my tank Juggernaut to be the easiest leveling experience I had in the game, having hit 50 before the XP boosts came out, and still doing it faster than subsequent characters. I now have 5 level 50s, to clarify.
  19. I was hoping the Imperial/Republic titles would be unique and actually feature that they are Imperial/Republic, rather than a collective "Hyperspace Legend" and "Hero of Deep Space". I mean, you get them for the damn Voss and Gree. I was hoping to be able to wear a "Hero of the Empire" type title. But I guess it's not to be.
  20. Kaylio. A hundred times, this stupid little Shutta should have been killed on Hutta. It absolutely disgusts me that the agent's primary companion is an anarchist who . The agent's first/primary companion should have been a mirror of the Troopers, a loyal to the same faction, by the book sort, and most importantly, the kind of person who AN INTELLIGENCE ORGANIZATION can actually trust with the things going on in the story, not an anarchist that, as it's established from the word go, has no loyalty to anything or anyone. I hate, hate, hate her with a passion, and am legitimately confused by anyone who thinks this was a good choice. _____________________________ I'm also annoyed with the fact that Skadge had no real reason to join the Bounty Hunter. I'd be fine if it wasn't just "Oh, I'm with you now."
  21. That's Belsavis, actually, but yes. Good one. I like on Nar Shaddaa (Imperial hangar area) (Paraphrased) : Soldier 1: The Hutts are horrible! The things I hear they do to the Evocii. Soldier 2: Have you ever MET an Evocii. They bloody deserve it if you ask me. Soldier 1: That's cold. Soldier 2: Go meet one. Then you can talk. Fifty credits says you end up shoving it in a gutter. Laughing.
  22. This. It never had anything to do with the debuff. The only reason to bother with the vaccine now is the VERY, VERY rare instance where someone who hasn't logged in since that event still has the infection (as happened recently on the Ebon Hawk). Barring that, the only reason it's still available is because they never bothered to take it out. Also: If you weren't here for it, the Rakghoul event was a big thing that happened a long time ago wherein the plague was widespread across the galaxy through players. It was a fun event that inspired a lot of RP.
  23. I hate the Voss. Bunch of pious.... Anyway, I'd rather play the Gormak. Gormak are awesome.
