Guarded Sorcs.. Go for them?

Seems many players will avoid guarded healers and rather go for the tank guarding. I dont really see why. You will still do more damage total to a squishy sorc than to the tank guarding. And that damage is also distributed to two players, so you will do lightarmor damage to the heavy armor tank, that damage also being unavoidable as I understand unless he cancels guard. You will also get the added benefit of being able to interrupt the healer.

Any diverging views on this?

I always thought it was the way you described, but not everyone agrees:

When you guard a target, anyone attacking that target does 50% to them and 50% to you separately. The dmg done to you is mitigated with your defensive stats even though they are attacking your guarded ally.

I haven't seen anything official on this so I'd be interested too if anyone has some confirmed info.

sorc 30% less dmg 2 times 6sec

sorc 20% less dmg 6sec

heal sorcs get 8% more heal(talented)

so yes it is easyer to cc/interupt sorc and kill the guard

I think your thinking is fundamentally flawed.

Your talking about choosing to fight ONE or the OTHER.

Thats not how you fight a team, you need to fight BOTH.

Loss:

Two DPS vs Tank/Healer. DPS the Healer, CC the tank.

Draw:

Tank/Healer vs Tank/Healer. I don't see how you can win this except by waiting for healer OOM.

Win:

Uneven groups vs Tank/Healer combo: Separate healer and tank to kill the guard, or pressure healer and DPS tank.
