cdsoxfan
Depends. Do you want to be OP on the Imperial side, or OP on the Republic side? My advice? Play a different class entirely.
MrTBolt
they are nearly the same just different side (class wise) Not sure about story, i guess the republic is more soft than the imperial ^^ Edited February 24, 2012 by MrTBolt
Excidium
Their gear is also equally ugly. One is more purple the other more brown.
hadoken
Which is more fun to play as? Which has a better story? Sorc for both IMO. Have a 50 sorc and a 48 sage.
Tenacity
The OP issues will get fixed eventually, people need to quit tainting these boards with their whining. As far as the thread topic... they're both good, IMO, but I prefer the sorceror. Sage: Storyline revolves around fighting 'invisible' threats emanating from the darkside of the force. Class Pros: -Better playable species selection (at the moment) -More variety in attacks (force energy, kinetic attacks, throwing objects, etc.) -(slightly) better looking endgame gear Class Cons: -Poorly designed starship -Endgame gear looks pretty bad (but better than the sorceror's) -Healing animations all look pretty bland IMO Sorceror: Storyline revolves around unlocking mysteries of the force and gaining power for yourself by doing so. Class Pros: -Lightning is awesome, and nobody can say any different =P -Good looking early-game gear, standard black robes -Awesome looking ship, though still pretty poorly designed on the inside -Cooler companions IMO - you get two 'apprentices', rather than just one that sages get Class Cons: -Not much variety in attack animations, it's lightning, lightning, and more lightning -One of your 'apprentices' is a lightsider and cant really be converted, she's also the only romance interest for male sorcerors
Amien
Just finished the SI story line an I must say, WOW! It was awesome!! And yes, as stated before it's a long journey seeking the forbidden secrets of the Force and gaining tremendous amounts of power. Although, from watching and playing limited Sage, I do think the animations are much nicer with sage, more variety. Both are alot of fun, especially the pull-ally ability (Never seen that anywhere before) in Huttball! When you pull that tank whos getting the crap beat out of him up to the top level and then the 3 gankers just run in circles looking for where he went. It's SO funny! Erevan_Kindelar
Which is more fun to play as? Which has a better story? You are basically playing the same character on either side, so the "more fun to play" thing comes down to whether you prefer throwing rocks (Sage) or lightning (sorcerer), whether you like helping and rescuing others (Sage) or helping yourself and gathering power to yourself (sorcerer), whether you want your first master to be an absent-minded dried up old professor (Sage) or a smoking hot sexbomb (sorcerer), and whether you want bad-looking gear (Sage) or really bad looking gear (sorcerer). The Consular/Inquisitor story is more lore-based than any other, so it is often labelled as "boring" or "dry". Most people say that the Sorcerer has the better story, but I have not found there to be much to choose - if you like/dislike one, you will like/dislike the other from a story perspective. Companion-wise, both Qyzen Fess (Sage) and Khem Val (Sorcerer) have people who love them and hate them, but they are basically mirrors, and while Qyzen is very protective of your honour and prestige as the Herald of the Scorekeeper, Khem is always looking for a way to bring you down a peg or two.
