The usage of diffrent Cells & Troopers worst looking class Low lvl?

Hey could use some input on something.

would i be assuming wrong that Plasma Cell is for pve and Ap for pvp? ofc they can be used in either but it just sounds that Ap on players would be better. ofc im just making assumptions here.

Any input from some experienced beta commandos would be appreciated:p

Also is it just me but when im running around in my orange leggings White helmet my i dunno what to call the color of my chest piece and some darkish color on my gloves and boots that kinda matches the chestpiece color. not to mention all diffrent types of armor kinda makes us like we been rumagin around in Ibiza for a week stright only to wake up one morning getting dressed and just not care what the hell we put on so long as it covers the essential parts.

and from what ive understood from my buddy thats playing a jedi Guardian, their robes all seem to have the same armor value. he's been using loads and loads of diffrent armors just swaping out their mods since he dosent lose any armor from it. the stats all from their mods?

ive found that kinda dont work for us. since our base armor on each armor seems to vary from piece to piece, not only based on mods. so were kinda stuck with our missmatch untill we can find an upgrade wich can take one hell of a while it seems.

hmm ended up ranting i guess, but a few glasses in and its late makes it kinda hard to avoid :p

anyway peace out and feel free to share some of your thoughts on the stuff above !

Combat Support Cell for Medic, PvE and PvP. Supercharge Cells skill is freaking awesome.

Plasma Cell for Assault Specialist or if low level for PvE and PvP.

Armor Piercing for Gunnery during PvE because nearly all your attacks are kinetic so are affected by armor plus you have a skill that relies on it to give back energy. Every bit of armor penetration is pretty much a direct dps gain for Gunnery, unlike all the other Trooper specs that have decent amounts of elemental and some internal damage.

Whether to use Plasma for Gunnery in PvP is the question. DoTs currently interrupt objective interaction, getting out of combat and even if do get out of combat the replenish ability won't work very well as it will get interrupted. Problem is getting Plasma Cell effect to proc, APC gives continuous damage improvement and can give a cell on a crit. APC also reduces cost of High Impact Bolt via Special Munitions Skill.

the actual answer is:

Combat Support Cell: for Combat Medic specced Commandos

Armor-piercing Cell: for Gunnery specced Commandos

Plasma Cell: for Assault specced Commandos

each of these skill trees will have bonuses to that particular Cell.

so you use whichever Cell you are speccing your Commando for.

sure, you can make a hybrid build, but you should still aim to get some sort of bonus for one of the Cells.

Combat Medic, Gunnery, and Assault can all be used for PvE or PvP.

depending on play-style and where you spend your points will determine how well they work.

If you are not focusing skill points on one Cell, you are gimping yourself, as they are a constant passive bonus for whatever else you are doing.

Whatever Cell you are focusing skill points on, is your answer.

While that's technically true it can vary depending on what you're doing too. I'm full combat medic but I find armor piercing cell to be superior to combat support when solo as I do greater damage output. When healing though, support all the way.

As a combat medic I use plasma cells when leveling.

Since I'm typically spamming AE attacks and things die very quickly, I felt like that buff wasn't as good as armor piercing. But without a working combat log I actually have no freaking idea.

Thanks for the input. I found my Powertech much easier to understand because the damage types were more clear. I have a level 14 Gunnery spec right now but had been using Plasma because I didn't see what the benefit to armor piercing would be. Now that I understand what a potential damage increase it is, I'll probably switch. They should make this more clear in the tooltips for the ability, something like "this will cause Kintetic attacks to do +X% damage on average" or something, because the effect armor has on your damage isn't really clear.

yes, this is true.

Support cell is primarily to allow you to use hammer shot to heal a teammate. Something that isn't very useful solo. As you can't heal yourself with it, and healing companions with it is completely unneeded. (pvp you need the instant, non channeled, on the move heal. pve you don't) And the 3% damage/healing just isn't as powerful as the armor pen.
