Novastinger
I'm not very familiar with SW novels released the last 8 years or so, but here's my favorites: Courtship of Princess Leia (probably favorite single novel) X-Wing series (especially love the ones by Aaron Alliston) Corellian trilogy (was my home planet in SWG, and one of my favorite worlds in TOR) Shadows of the Empire (too bad Steve Perry didn't write more than one SW novel) Tales from series (Jabba's Palace and Bounty Hunters ones especially) Jedi Academy trilogy Thrawn trilogy The New Jedi Order ones are alright, but the Yuzong Vong are just less of an enjoyable adversary imo. Karaiblis
Most of all 'I, Jedi' by Michael Stackpole is the one to read, if you don't touch any other, it's the best. This is my favorite by a large margin. I reread it every so often, and still find awesome bits I somehow missed before. The X wing series is *very good*, they have a lot of action, and I'd say read them all (except you could skip the last tacked on book to the series, that's not really in the series, 'Starfighters of Audmar'). DontPushMe
I tried to get into the books but the only one I really enjoyed looking back was the thrawn series. I read the next few in succession and i think my interest was still based primarily off of the thrawn books, during the NJO i completely lost interest. Maybe its just me though. Thrawn series is must read
RoadtoArkham
The Revan book is good. It just might make you mad if you are a revan fan. It made me mad because I was an Exile fan. Mostly because of Kreia, but still...

Eldartank
My all-time favorite Star Wars novel is "Splinter of the Mind's Eye" by Alan Dean Foster. The novel was written back in the early 80's, and is a really great story.

DigiFluid
What if someone is looking for stories taking place during SWTOR? To go along with the game? Thanks There are three TOR-specific novels so far: Revan, which is set between KOTOR 1 and 2 (first half of book) and after KOTOR 2 (second half), and establishes a direct tie between those two games and a certain storyline in TORDeceived, which begins concurrently with the Deceived trailer and follows Darth Malgus for the next few days afterwardFatal Alliance, which is set approximately concurrent with the game. This book is also f'ing awful and nobody should ever have to read it. And a fourth TOR novel in the works which will be set after the events of the game, but we don't have any specifics yet. There's also Red Harvest, which is set two years before the events of the game. I haven't read this one, so I can't comment on it beyond noting that it's standalone/a prequel to the Death Troopers novel and not directly tied to the TOR sub-franchise. DeimonX
I have heard that the First Bane book, Path of Destruction gives away then ending to The whole Reavan series. My question is should I read Revan first or does it not matter and I could read Bane? Thanks

My question is should I read Revan first or does it not matter and I could read Bane? Thanks The Darth Bane series is set 1600 years after TOR, and was written 5 years before TOR came out. In fact, the only Revan-related canon that existed when the Bane series came out was KOTOR 1 and 2.
MRCHalifax
IMO, read: Rogue Squadron by Michael A. Stackpole Wedge's Gamble by Michael A. Stackpole The Krytos Trap by Michael A. Stackpole The Bacta War by Michael A. Stackpole Wraith Squadron by Aaron Allston Iron Fist by Aaron Allston Solo Command by Aaron Allston Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn Dark Force Rising by Timothy Zahn The Last Command by Timothy Zahn Isard's Revenge by Michael A. Stackpole I, Jedi by Michael A. Stackpole Starfighters of Adumar by Aaron Allston Specter of the Past by Timothy Zahn Vision of the Future by Timothy Zahn Legecy (comic series) by Jon Ostrander and Jan Duursema. Really, any of the comics by Ostrander and Duursema. They have K'Kruhk, the somewhat unkillable Whiphid Jedi, and his really sweet hat.
